  • #DrewBarrymore was exploited as a child star. Drew was working from the age of 11 months old. By the time she reached her teens she was an addict and in recovering in rehab. Her mother did not protect her from the darks die of Hollywood, so unfortunately Drew was exposed to it all.

the implication society gives men like they're oh-so-confused and led astray by younger women who look older is completely false and misogynist.
they could all tell she was a child.
it's the same with grown men telling the court "i didn't know she was 14/15." they did. they seek out younger girls for a reason: they have less stability, less boundaries and are less independent than older women.
that makes it all the more easier for them and their dicks to benefit from it.

I feel like there's no point tbh, she already spoke up about it alot in all those interviews as a young girl, & nothing was done at the time. Most of the people who SAed her are probably old or dead now. She seems so lovely, I can't imagine her wanting to air everything out again just for the sake of "justice" when justice can't even really be served for what she went though. If she wanted to, of course I would love to show her (& all other survivors) support. But it seems like she doesn't want to. Drew is very open on her show about what she went through & so I feel like she excludes that stuff on purpose. For her to speak up about it now, if then becomes more apart of her story unfortunately, especially because she is a celebrity. People would speculate on who she was talking about regardless on how vague & unspecific she describes anything. I feel like her kids would see stuff about it then as well. For myself, I can't imagine wanting to make every detail so public and have to relive that in any way. Much easier and healthier to forget. Sending her all my love & support though, regardless of if/when she wants to talk about her past trauma.

Her entire traumatic childhood is out there for everyone to see, it makes sense for her to want to keep the worst trauma someone can go through to herself. She doesn't owe that story to anyone, and I think she's done a significant amount of therapy and healing which is everything she needs to do for herself. It's a survivors right the choose when and if they ever come out about that.

Having parents that treat you as if someone else is supposed to be raising you is... devastating. And I can say from personal experience it ruined my relationship with my family and I never want kids because of it. You are not supposed to be your kids best friend, you're not supposed to let them do whatever cuz they're "their own person" when they're still a minor. The depth of awareness that she must’ve had at 10 years old to understand on any level the relationships between sexuality and alcohol and emotions. She did a LOT of very self aware thinking for a ten year old that really blows my mind. We know this is true, that children are very adaptive but it is interesting nonetheless to see how far the limits of adaptation have gone for some people. You say that she had no idea what was happening to her but based on her own analysis at the time of the situation she understood at least that there was a relationship between what she was doing and the intended consequences of what she was doing, which again is not expected of a ten year old child in those scenarios

Drew Barrymore had a babyface until like her 40s so no man who slowed dance with her or did anything to her can make the excuse that she “looked like an adult”.. the fact that she married before she learned how to pay her bills is so disgusting to me. And there’s photo proof and video proof of men gathering around her while she’s with them. This is insane.. why are they not held accountable? It’s not normal.. this is beyond us it seems.

Britney's family and the media are hugely responsible for the image of her at the time and thus taking her kids away :( all about money and control.
Barrymore wasnt gonna be that fortunate :( the money was based in her working.
My brother and I as kids experienced things and we wonder why social services never got involved, sometimes these dont happen, but it terrifies me, so many knew what was happening to Barrymore, the world knew

When you said that Drew wasn't really given a choice on what to like-she wasn't able to play with Barbies, she was taken to the club...that really stuck a cord with me. My childhood was rough, and my mother and cousin were in the drug game when I was growing up and, at that time, I absolutely loved it. It was all I knew, and it took me getting older and talking to 'normal people' to realize that that wasn't a good life at all.
My point is is that humans are so good at adapting to situations. You either find happiness in your situation, or you spiral out and can't cope with life at all. It seems like Drew found her happiness in partying and drugs because that was what she was thrust into. Here comfort zone was partying, and that isn't sustainable. Someday she's going to have to clean up her life, and given that that's all she's ever known, she's going to struggle to try and live a normal life that should have been given to her as a kid. It's a feeling of constant discomfort just trying to go throughout life being something that you genuinely aren't...sober.

I always wondered why people brought up Drew Barrymore's rehab but never talked about how she got there. It's clear to me now that there's a reason for that. When the narrative is "Drew Barrymore went to rehab at age 13", it's Drew's fault. When the narrative is "some of your favorite stars gave a nine year old champagne and then moved her on to harder stuff", that looks bad for a lot of people.

I've loved her since my childhood when I watched her on E.T. She's just absolutely soooo talented. People don't understand how hard it is to remain an A-list celebrity for damn near your entire career. She's always going to be recognized and loved, for her down to earth attitude, sweet spirit, and big heart.
Her mother on the other hand needs her a$$ whooped for robbing her of a child like childhood. That's total abuse and the fact that no one stood up and said hell no, not in here, and wouldn't allow her in their adult clubs or adult atmosphere. A bar wants business and publicity recognition for a celebrity hotspot, from a child star? That's ludicrous!!
So if the womb donor wasn't with her child, just who in the hell was? I'm sure she was abused sexually and touched, I pray she doesn't remember the worst of it. Because it's so obvious she was being feed drugs and alcohol for that purpose.
Where's the celebrity's with enough balls to stand up and say this isn't right. I would've found away to get her home or made her stay right by me making sure she was safe, until she left. But people are so worried about their careers and pissing people off. How can anyone look down on her? When most of them created her, looking the other way or contributed to her wild side style.
Then pedophilia being allowed in the wide open for the entire world to see even before she was emancipated. I mean it was a crime in those times as well, and they all should've been prosecuted. This was just so sickening, poor Drew! She such a strong courageous woman.

My favorite movie is Ever After. There's a scene where Cinderella (Drew) finally breaks and asks her evil stepmother "Did you ever love me, even just once?" And the stepmother says "How could anyone love a stone in their shoe?" And Drew looks so absolutely devastated for real and knowing what she went through, it had to have been 😢 😭 But in the end, she gets the Prince and control of her life (she frees herself from a kidnapping rapist who is twice her age!), while she banishes the stepmother and the mean girl sister to the laundry pit. Every ounce of that girl is in this movie! The musical score is beautiful and the costumes are divine! Will always be my favorite 💕

A 10 year-old is in bed sleeping by 10:30 pm. 10 year-olds need 10 year-old friends, family time, fun with siblings, pets, playing dress up, baking with mom. She needs hobbies and time to think about who she is, what her values are, how to resolve conflicts with peers, and stand up for herself. I’m sorry for a woman who never got to have a carefree, stable, fun childhood. I’m sorry that she was never loved. Recovering from a childhood where she was never loved and cared for is the hardest work in life. I have so much respect for Drew. She could have easily thrown it all away, ended her life, or like most people, repeat the cycle to her own kids.

Love how your featuring older generations of child stars. You should do a deep dive on Oprah, she's a part of shady stuff; the abuse in her school in Africa, her ties to a cult leader, and Harvey Weinstein. Some other deep dive suggestions: Carrie Fisher, singer from the Mama's and the Papas music group and his relationship with his daughter.

I soo love that you said we need to protect Drew for the rest of her life; it gave me vibes of a virtual community/safe space for the sole purpose of supporting people and promoting self love. The genuine admiration and compassion you showed for her throughout this video was very beautiful.

I'm an '80s baby, and I remember hearing about Drew being in & out of rehab but, didn't know the horrors this woman had to endure in her childhood. If Drew & her mother were poor, Drew would've been taken away from that woman & she would've & should've been jailed for abandoning her daughter since she was 10 yrs. old. Honestly, that woman nerds to be *under* the jail for abandoning her child in the land of child predators.

I remember growing up with girls who thought they were "mature for their age" and that's why they could "date older guys" but sadly that's not the case. that man is a predator and you're a child who can't understand the subtly of why this older man is wanting to dance at the club. It's not bc he can't tell you're age, it's bc he can.

In the Oprah interview “all my problems seemed to just disappear when I was out of it” that is SO devastating. A child should not have to endure that. I’ve always loved Drew and just knowing this has me shocked. But not surprised. I also agree, I’ve never liked Oprah so I’d love a video! Thank you Sloan :)

She have a monarch butterly tattoo on her belly, one of the symbol of mind control (Mk project), she started to work at 11 months old for an advert, she was exploited whitout knowing it, at 13 she was maybe reprogrammed ( making sure that she totally forget what happened to her) sent in a psychiatric hospital by her mother, they probably use psychic torture or electrochocs on her, it's not a coincidence that after this period she made a suicide attempt at only 14.
