    Moral of story: Create something special, short and unique. Don't show all the house but rather highlight the important details; living room, front, etc.

    Thank you for the amazing tips! I am about ready to have my first job. I have lots of practice experience now.
    How would you recommend I do my first job without any previous work to back me up. Would I do a few free jobs?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! A few ideas - Build your first RE portfolio using friends/family's houses, and also make some videos featuring Local / Public Places that you can access for free + legally. Then just reach out to agents offering your paid services. Offering free work to agents isn't really the best route without a portfolio (unless you know them personally) - because you're essentially asking them to take a huge risk for someone who they don't even know - you. They only get one chance to impress their clients and get future referrals, so doing anything that potentially wastes their clients' time isn't great for them. Just another way to look at it. Model homes and Airbnb's are another great option if you want to reach out and see if you can use their space for experience / exchange for free content though (since it's no risk to them).

    What lens combination are you using? I assume 15mm on wide but what about detail shots?

  • @andrewchristian3017
    @andrewchristian3017 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man. So I’m using my iPhone 11 right now until I can get my 6400 with lenses. I went to shoot a property last night. So I have my iPhone 11 in a beastgrip cage, and I have a good wide angle lens with a 17mm thread adapter so I can attach to my cage. Snd then I balance that on my gimbal. But I noticed especially when I shoot lights or windows. I get lens flares. But not cool lens flares. It’s like little circle blue UFOS as I pan the room. It doesn’t look good to me. So I’m thinking about not using the cage With wide angle lens. And using my iPhones wide angle ability. I didn’t use that originally bc when my iPhone is in the cage. I’m not able to use the native wide angle on the iPhone. Will this fix my issue?
    Also when I do get my camera. I have all sorts of diffusion filters and stuff. Would you recommend not using diffusion or any filters when shooting real estate?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! You’ll have to try out different setups to see what you think. I wouldn’t know since every lighting situation is different. But yeah, lens flares on phones are not ever as cool as with full frame or apsc cameras / lenses! Could be that your lens attached gets the weird flares and your phone lens will get less though. For future camera - I usually don’t go with any filters except CPL or VND for Real Estate since I’m typically going for a realistic clean look. Other ones I’ve tried just give lights a weird glowy effect that’s not great. Maybe if you were shooting lights off some promist or black satin would work nicely though!

    One more question, how long (duration) can a shot be without distracting a regular viewer or get him or her bored?
    Currently I'm editing an approximately 2 min video of a Holiday apartment that my family is renting out and I struggle a bit with this.
    So your answer to this question would be much appreciated! 😅
    Best greetings from Germany ✌🏼

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I think as short as possible while still getting across the important parts is a good measure. If it’s new info / views one after another it’s less likely ppl will get bored compared to repetitive shots

      Try to think of it like this, non interested potential clients (NIPC) and interested potential clients (IPC). You are using highlight videos to promote interest to NIPC and NPC. However, only a NPC will watch through a longer 5 - 8 minute video of a property because you have provoked their interest to see more. If you don't like chocolate, you will not be interested to watch commercial about it and instead just skip it. However, if you are in the market to look for a new house you can still be in both groups but time is a factor. People are busy and don't have all day to watch long videos. They need to scan through as much information as fast as possible and then refine their choice. The scanning part of the process would be watching highlight videos and if they like a particular property the IPC will ask the agent for more details, that's when the agent should show them the longer video so the IPC now has time to view the property at a slower more immersive pace. If you highlight video is longer than a minute, then you are wasting your time and it will not be productive as the NIPC would have already clicked off and the IPC should be left with the feeling of wanting to see more, for the IPC and the highlight video, less is more. Personally, I think a minute is too long, 15-30sec is long enough to perk someones interest to see more. In the highlight, only rooms and exterior and location should be included. All detail shots should only be included in the longer videos for IPC, or the longer video just becomes a repeat of the highlight.

    Hi Taylor - Thanks for focusing your channel on real estate videography - it is super helpful. I am looking to create short form videos for IG Reels where the the speed of the video goes from fast to slow - especially with transitioning from room to room. I am trying to determine the best way to shoot a video like this. Can I send you a few examples, and get your thoughts?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!! Thanks for the support. For speed ramping, I typically do it the other way around and shoot at 60 frames per second so you can have the ability to slow it down or keep it at normal speed (and do faster movements on a gimbal or handheld) that way it doesn't get too jumpy looking - My email is taylorrbrown@icloud.com , would love to see!
