    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Love Sony! No not really unless you’re doing something that really requires it and it’s the only option. Settings changing during a shot is risky for something going wrong (personal preference though!) which camera are you using?

  • @sherinaw7464
    @sherinaw7464 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey love your stuff. What time of day do you shoot indoors? Do you have an IG act? Can you explain log?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! For Indoors typically mid day works well since there’s less direct light spots & most areas will be similarly lit. But it depends on your camera capabilities and what look you’re going for to get the best results for that. (For example: my eosr gets a lot of noise in low light situations so I avoid them. Versus a fx3 or a7siii that gets really clean low light shots so you get more creative options) IG is @taylorrbrown , LOG is basically just a flatter unsaturated video format which on most cameras gives you more flexibility in post for contrast / saturation / colors / highlights&shadow recovery (compared to using a picture profile where you can’t do much adjustment after) Depending on the camera, log might not be best (for ex: I used to use a sony a7iii on HLG because I liked the final colors I could get better) Also it’s a lot easier to use HLG or a neutral picture profile if you’re just starting out since you won’t need to do much color grading so that might be your best bet too. It’s definitely worth the time investment to try a lot of settings on your camera and see what you like and what works best so when you’re doing a project you can switch it up accordingly. Hope that all makes sense :) Thanks for the support!

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Like how to price your drone photography and videography and, also how to price your real estate videography and photography. do you do it based on square footage or by project? and do you charge a different price for when the real estate agent wants to do a tour of the property with them in it. since there's more work that goes into a video like that.
      Another video idea would be what do you send to a real estate agent when you're contacting them for the first time when you have a portfolio already and also when you are just starting out. And how do you present your work to them do you a website Or a Google doc link

    Great topic before heading out for my first video shoot today! Quick question, I bought your LUTs yesterday and I know the R6 just had a firmware update. Will the LUTs still work well if now shooting in Canon Log 3 instead of just regular Canon Log? Very appreciative of you and your content!

    • @JonathanLopez-pg5fh
      @JonathanLopez-pg5fh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another quick question. Have you tried shooting in the R6's "AWB- White Priority" mode?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonathanLopez-pg5fh Thanks man!! Exciting update, gets you a bit more dynamic range :) They should be fine (Let me know!) I created them to work with all of the LOG formats I use with options for higher or lower contrast (CLOG, CLOG3, SLOG3, DLOG, and Non-Log Neutral Profiles) I haven't tried the White Priority Mode, but for video there's always a risk if it's auto adjusting & changing during a shot it can look bad or distracting. Might be different if you have it set up to lock the WB for the duration of the clip! But I'd go with Kelvin or Custom WB Always.

    Love your videos, but I have a question about whether or not to use either: the lens stabilization on the Canon 16-35mm f/4, or enabling the IBIS for the R6- WHILE using a gimbal?
    Should I just turn those things off and let the gimbal do the work?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or do you think an f4L IS (cheaper) would be a better option

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats ! Awesome camera. I have the EF 16-35 2.8 and love it. Either lens would be good depending on your budget. The f4 is a lot lighter / smaller and I prefer lens stabilization for video so it’s pretty great for video ! But if 2.8 is important to you (better low light, more cinematic looking footage or if you’re filming people it looks nicer - also better for portraits) it might be worth it but If that’s in your budget i would probably just get the newer RF 15-35 instead. RF definitely performs a bit better with AF and everything else and makes your setup less pieces, the adapters make mine pretty huge ! Haha But also if you got the 16-35 f4 you could get another lens with that budget too so that could also be a great option ! (For details, portraits, etc)

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo awesome advice ! I’m mostly focused on real-estate at the moment, and upgrading from a rebel T8i with the EfS 10-18 f4.5-5.5 so my interior videos are not up to par with how I see your crispy footage.
      Looking more so for low light boost, and a more cinematic look, not sure if f/4 would be enough for a nice twilight video 🤷‍♂️ But like you said the price point is where it’s hitting me right now haha.
      Thanks for the advice, and keep up the great vids man 👊

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Especially with a gimbal it can be hard to get super smooth movements at 24fps on a light weight setup, so I usually shoot at at least 30fps to have the option to slow it down to 80% speed in the edit to help with that. Might help! What are all of your camera settings & gimbal settings?

    Hey Taylor! I didn't quite understand the part about white balance. Did you mean each time we entered a room we needed to adjust the temperature on our cameras to make it look more warm?
    Also are there certain temperatures that are convenient for certain time of the day?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!! I adjust the temp depending on the room and how it looks on my monitor (warmer or cooler). Usually from 3200 (pure tungsten light) , to 5500 (lots of natural light coming in). Mixed light is usually around 4800, sunsets are usually 6500-7000. Hope that helps! Can always adjust a bit in editing too 👍

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey!! Thanks so much. You’ll need a wider lens for cropped sensor cameras (11mm) to get similar shots! That should be a good kit to get started on, and get things started. The biggest difference with more expensive full frame cameras is dynamic range and better detail / colors. For aperture I usually keep it as open as I can (low # like 2.8 for wide shots & 2.0 for details. Exteriors sometimes f4-5) but that’s mostly to get more light in the camera and get a cleaner shot - more narrow like f4-8 would be nice too for more details. How’s it going for you so far ??

    Trying to replicate the long shot openings of Halloween or Chinatown is definitely not good. I developed solid footwork over a long period doing studio ped cameras. My directors wanted slow, steady and fluid movement trucking the cameras, all the while keeping the anchor in the crosshairs. This was jib mimicking in small studios but proved effective and created job security.
