These type of vids are great for all skill levels 🔥 I’ve done too many hits in my hit confirms during auto pilot when I could’ve done two hits ,thanks Chris F especially that high level OS completely blew my mind I never thought of that.
This tutorial is incredibly helpful. I'm currently struggling with the 1400~1500 range and often find myself repeatedly using the light punch. I think it would be best for me to return to training mode and follow your guidance. By the way, in this video 00:03:26 should I set the block to 'random' instead of 'block all'?
Glad it helped! If you’re in master I wouldn’t worry about copying my training mode settings exactly, you can be more free with it and set it as you want
Thank you, but gold is *not* pathetic. IMO self deprecation is one of the worse things you can do and will hold back your progress! Don’t compare yourself to others and instead focus on things to work on - like 2 hit confirms
Weird question, but do you know if there are any good guides regarding how to utilize dash/backdash effectively (specifically as a movement option)? I just can't figure out how to use it intuitively -- especially when we're talking about close/mid range neutral
Not that I know of. Backdashing is usually used to quickly create space between you and the opponent or to counter a meaty throw attempt in the corner on your wakeup. Forward dash can be used to quickly close space or for set play sequences after you knockdown the opponent
Another great video mate thank you 👍 hopefully I can work on this since my confirms are pretty good but my light attack strings get blown up all the time 😂
I don’t mean this in a negative way at all but I think I explained it clearly so I’m not quite sure how else to explain the settings to make it easier for you. If you need extra help just ask
@@Chris_F Managed to get it to work & edited the comment. It can take a while on advanced submenu details when balancing multiple games w/limited time. Maybe I can still do vs. if can't get 10 in a row (did one match). You're impressive w/this stuff. 😉
@@Chris_Ftrue. Thanks again for this vid. What really helped is how you showed the options on practice mode. Ive been doing Random Block and could not figure out how to do all blocks
How can I force a crosscut? Obviously with a shoto you may be able to walk forward and then DP the correct way, but I main Guile and sometimes the flash kick will either come out the wrong way or by the time he turns around their jump is safe from my flash kick.
Check this short, I have a guile example midway through! How to crosscut DP #streetfighter6 #sf6 #streetfighter th-cam.com/users/shortsczoSfxZyCy8?feature=share
I’m planning on releasing tekken 8 content again soon and yes, I’ll be covering the new garou game if it comes out. SF6 is my main game which is why I release so many videos for it.
1-hit confirm off lights?? That’s very, very difficult and not even that important in this game so I wouldn’t worry about it. Confirming a medium or heavy is important though
@@Chris_F That's right! Weak is the best option for executing a counter attack when the opponent is close-up, especially when the opponent performed a special such as Akuma's A-Flame. It's ridiculous though for Ryu lack of options means he is often trying to perform the near impossible of fitting a 4 frame weak attack into a 1-2 frame counter window. It goes to show you need to really know the frame data in this game. However, even then that can only help so much as Ryu is dealing against S & A tier characters that can mix-up every attack they do which leaves you continuously guessing (the 50/50 guessing part is what I hate the most in this game as it's done way too much). If I can put it another way, it's like S & A tiers are 3-dimensional characters and B, C and D tier characters are 1-dimensional characters. This means you are having two different gameplay philosophies trying to combat each other, which explains why all the tournaments are always seeing the same rank results since game launch. Indeed. One hit confirming a strong attack is what I'm trying to do more, such as what I call Ryu's Shotgun which is Heavy Punch into Lvl1/2. The key though is because of the move execution and the fact it's a one-hit confirm, it is near impossible to perform a shotgun in a way that it doesn't activate if the opponent blocked the move if you input it the "normal" way. So the workaround to achieving it is to take advantage of the Heavy Punch buffer window animation itself by inputting the directions but delay pressing heavy punch by a few milliseconds. That way, you can be sure that there is a confirmed hit before pressing heavy punch at the last second. Just in case you are not sure with what I mean (I think you definitely know because you're the man), please quickly to go 21:11secs in the "My Road to Master rank Ryu" video that is located in my channel (should be the third video). You'll see me playing against Luke where I did the Shotgun move. I was so happy when it came out. I got a long way to go though, trying to get the best out of Ryu that mostly have negative match-ups and only a few equal match-ups and doing it all on a 17-years old 6-button Arcade stick (Virtua Stick High Grade) that isn't working very well.
Yes and no, depends heavily on your character and the matchup. Point of this video is that, if you’re aiming for higher level play, you need to be able to hit confirm after 2 hits. It’s an essential skill.
I think I explained it briefly in the video, but with random guard, the dummy will block the first hit but get hit by the second hit which can kind of mess up your reactions. My method avoids that issue
Great question! This is because I’m *chaining* lights, which means I’m cancelling late into the recovery frames into another light attack. This is a frame trap and will catch opponents pushing buttons. Btw, this ONLY works with lights as medium and heavy attacks cannot be chained from themselves
*sniff sniff* someone cooked here
Haha this man knows

Premier place for fundamental SF6 knowledge.

Incredible as usual ! Like the OS at the end, as you said it is used a lot now at top level.
That OS is so strong, I don’t think capcom will leave it like this in the next patch
Great video as always Mr. F
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm always watching ypour videos. Even though you don't do KOF videos anymore I actually find ways of applying this to KOF.
Thank you so much! Means a lot!
I’ll be back to SNK games when the new Garou comes out
Fantastic tutorial! You save my life!
Glad I could help!
@@liaonardo_me same. I was drowning until i realized i had room to 2a~2a. The water didnt react giving my turn back to swim out of neutral
This is probably the single most important SF6 video in my (pathetic, gold ranked) world. I def need help registering my confirms. THANKS!

Awesome vid as always. Thank you Chris

Perfect timing
Great!
Very dope intel. This is solid!
Glad you like it!
you're so creative with training mode dude. This stuff is gold
SF6 training mode is amazing, it’s easy to be creative bc it lets you do so much!
I cannot figure out how to make the first recording.
Is it just holding down back for about 35 frames?
Because mine always blocks. 3:30
Great video

For back dash, one good timing to use it is after you did a minus punch/kick to prevent a low mk+dr/jump.
Do you think there’s value in 3 hit light strings on hit/block vs 2 hits? Great video as always
Absolutely! The top tiers are all able to use 3 lights and still apply mix in some way, it’s an incredibly important thing in this game
I use 3 hit LP string to DP and when i have it to a level 3. Just beat someone to end the match that way yesterday.
Another great video mate thank you 👍 hopefully I can work on this since my confirms are pretty good but my light attack strings get blown up all the time 😂
Let me know how much this helped once you practice it, would love to know
@Chris_F *m bison voice* of course!
Is there a certain frame amount I have to set my dummy on block? It’s currently blocking every light I throw at it
This video applies to me. I keep struggling with my 2 hit confirms. No wonder I am stuck in Diamond! Darn!
I’m sure you’ll rank up if you practice this!
Good info. I can do cLPx2>special.

I use 3 hit LP string to a DP and then to a Level 3 when i have it. I do need to add this 2 hit string to tatsu
Light Tatsu ender is *much* better than DP outside of KO situations

Can’t they stuff the drive rush and convert off that counter hit?
Of course, there’s always a counter to any option you present. The important part is adding more variety to your kit
What about single hit confirms off medium and heavy buttons?

How do you lab instant air moves on wakeup? Like labbing to beat blanka wakeup airball or chun legs.
You need to record that sequence and then set it as a reversal option
