I can say I have experienced this a few times, reimaging myself, it’s not easy, but it is amazing. In some ways I am a completely different person now than 25 years ago. Often people run into a “wall” like being fired, attacked, rejected, etc., and they’re done. Not good. Find the way through, over, around or under that “wall” and move on. It may be a new career, new way to use your time, learning something foreign to you…don’t settle for remaining a “failure” in your own mind.
Robert Greene is top-tier on this game of life. The KNOWLEDGE & MASTERY of how to play the life is actually fantastic. And props to Tom for the interview he is such a good listener and great as well
the only way to heal that is to be that person that you needed and that is the test of unselfishness because people present themselves as not worthy of encouragement ..and does that mean we have presented ourself that way ? I probably have and at the same time and in the same day could have used some encouragement ..cheers, Zaga
Zaga I was in love with someone that was negative 100% of the time. She always put me down even if she didn’t mean too. She drug me backwards and halted my progress in life. Luckily she cheated and left me. Without realizing it, that was the greatest blessing of my life. You have to try your best to become the positive in your life. And it will be so much better!
I’m 18 right now, and I feel so unfulfilled with my life. In every job my mangers treat me beneath them or they talk to me inappropriately. I have always loved music, theatre, English literature. I hAve no idea what to do with my life right now, this video made me break down just thinking about everything he says hits my soul, I’m lost and trying to find my way but that’s okay because I don’t know what I was put on this earth to do. But I will try my hardest to accept my place when it comes.
In my experience, those that have a pattern of blaming others for how you are being treated, lack the ability to see their behavior, which is ultimately the cause of everyone else's actions. Basically, you are behaving in a certain pattern that all of your supervisors react the same way towards you. I owned a cafe and employed many just like you. Their lack of self awareness ultimately cost them their jobs.
There is one thing he is forgetting to say "if you are the best in the room, you are in the wrong room" so anyone who is able to put shine their boss, shouldn't be at that job, " you become a great master by always being in the room with people who are better at your skill than you.
A true leader knows how to use the best talents around them or hire talent that's better than them. So don't outshine the master? Every master has their time, what makes the master a true master is how they handle this reality.
Rule nr 1: you only get smarter by playing against a smarter oponent. Rule nr 2: the more sofisticated the game, the more sofisticated are the players!. Most peoples self image ( ego), can’t handle the stress and grinding against smarter players because they are outcome dependent and have a fixed mindset ( a limited mindset, that don’t belive in growt and learning). Rule nr 3: the more uncomfortable you can handle to be over time, the stronger you get. Those who only do what they are good at seldom grow. They choose short term gratification, and what feels emotionaly plessant in the here and now compared to " delaid gratification". There is huge power in knowing this. That is you can harvest power and money by investing in selling products and services that exploit others lazyness and lack of abillity to controll their emotions Rule 4: choose the pain of learning and maintaining self discipline or choose the pain of regret og self denail.
"95 % of what really matters in communication between people is not through words. Words are used to deceive you, to disguise what people are really thinking." Robert Greene
This is a new Era compared to 20 years ago It won t work now. You can not move as fast as the younger once. There is no respect for elderly today. You just have to hide in your room and not even go out for food. Because the drive thru at dunking or McDonald's would get you so mad that you will have a stroke or heart attack. I even give up getting coffee because. This generation is too I don't give a fuck attitude. And instead of saying how can I help you They say WHAT? OR WHAT DO YOU WANT??
If words are used to deceive then all sentences are deceptive. Including the sentence "words are used to deceive" Also it would also logically follow that all Greens' books are deceptive as they use words. This quote exposes Greens' lack of precision and poor ability to explain. Maybe he meant words can be used to deceive. Which is just obvious
To escape survival, you have to take time out for yourself, be intentional about it, commit to a daily practice, no matter what the practice is. If you can do that for a year, you will see change and start to see what I takes to make change - intention and time. You will see how many distractions you've allowed, how many distractions you choose for a short fix to the feeling of 'I'm only surviving." And as you get older, you'll see that those daily practices are required just to sustain survival and that if you haven't committed to them, you're actually falling behind.
These ideas are so true. I'm 67 , and had opportunities pass me by listening to others instead of my own heart. I ended twice married to wrong people for me. I missed passionate careers because not enough money, or family said no. I'm still searching for the best possible way for me to work in my life's passion now at my age. I will have to be creative!
I can totally relate to that. Since 2nd grade, I wanted to be a writer, but my family was very discouraging. They even confiscated my books and my library card. I ended up in the computer industry which, though successful, I hated. Health issues pushed me to retire at 59 and so here I am. Thing is? I am also a wanderer! I learned how to paint, remodel (hate drywall!), make furniture (the sliding barndoor fireplace tv stands are very popular), etc. I also play piano and violin, write songs, design landscapes, etc. I learned natural medicine, so my health is improving. Learning is really fun. And I finally wrote a book I like. So when he says it is over at 60? Wrong! Best of luck to you, and have fun!
I just started school for a second masters degree and was going to quit. I’m 60, in between jobs, and I’ve added a few extra pounds of weight. I felt like not trying any longer, but have a glimmer of hope since reading your comment.I am definitely in a rut!

Reading Robert Greenes books changed my life. I just hope it is for the better. when I read "The 48 laws of power", I started seeing his laws in action all around me. This made me go into a weird state of depression for about 3 weeks. As a naive and honest young man, thought to think the best in peoples actions, I instead started seeing their deliberate intentions. In any case, of all the authors books I've read, non is more honest and spot on about our nature as Robert Greenes. Thank you!
The two most important attitudes for a beautiful life: gratitude and love These two qualities will ensure whatever you do, wherever you are; you will speak and act beautifully, and the world will be brighter. You see, when you are grateful, for even the lowliest of things, you are content. And when you love, completely and purely, all you do and say will be sweet.
Ever since I was 4 I had only one dream, one day to be a teacher / an educator. I carried this childhood dream with me for 45 years and finally at 49 I have made my dream come true. I am absolutely satisfied and happy now. I was a clean lady, a worker, a baby sitter, kitchen helper, an engineer and now I'm the happiest educator. This profession is a calling for me and I love working with kids and young adults. I also love technique but the most I love to encourage, support and strengthen children and young people, to show them their wonderful abilities and strengths, so that they know who they are, what they are capable of and have a lot of fun with their development and with their lives 😊❤
Rich kids are not the most messed up people in the world. They just have enough resources to mess up more than anyone else. We all need to grow and learn and do it through Making mistakes.
10:10, I am 60 years old and have a different thought. Learning and doing is a life long process. Never have regrets; only lessons. Your wants and needs are always evolving, but one thing never changes and that is the time that you should get started, and that time is always NOW.
Awesome advice for us millennials, such a fresh and young perspective. Thank you, great hope for any of us who feel like lazily giving in to the martyristic thought: " it's too late for me..."
If you do not have regrets you are not genuine. A realist does not pretend they have not failed , they embrace the pain. Stoicism is not evasion of reality.
Having no regrets doesn't literally mean you don't care about reality. It means you have accepted your failure and learned your lesson out of that situation so you can do better next time around if the same or similar situation recurs.
At 61 years old I have always known who I am ...my path has taken me in many directions...Army / Police/ lawyer and long distance truck driver in the UK and Europe...I have eaten and drunk with many cultures...I have learned so much about them and myself...my wife calls it stubbornness but once some crosses my path wrongly they never get a second chance..I do not go looking for people they tend to come back to me no matter how long it takes

I disagree with that part of the video. We are not here to be seen as "good and friendly" all the time by other people just to take care of their ego. If other people are insecure, jealous or egocentric, that's THEIR problem, not yours. If you want a better tip, remember that every decision, big or small, has good AND bad consequences. Every decision. So its up to you to decide what consequences work better for your goals in life.
Everyone of us has a talent or skills so we should use it in exact way to having successful in life, our destiny is depend upon the way we're leaving and action...
Ironic. Of the millions of moments that make up a life, the single most unavoidable experience that's necessary for us to have life itself is birth. Being born. We might not remember the brutality of coming down the birth canal and into the cold harsh world, or being suddenly and forcefully grabbed by strange cold hands and yanked from the warmth of our mother's womb, and yet it's the most shocking, unexpected, brutal, and yet necessary moment of our lives. There is no life without the pain of birth. And yet as adults we immediately run at the first hint of discomfort. We shrink back the moment we're faced with pain. There's a revelation in that somewhere.
Birth is not painful, my daughter was sleeping peaceful when she came out. The uterus contracts to make room for the baby to come out comfortably without being hurt. If the mother pushes the baby out right when the uterus is contracted the baby is not in any pain at all, nor do it suffer. This is a fact. I attended lamaz class through my pregnancy and pushed only during the contraction and my baby came out very peaceful and sleeping.
@@ladybird491 The unpleasantness of birth is not limited to being squished inside the birth canal.. It is the pain of breathing amniotic fluid one moment, then forcefully coughint out that fluid as you gasp a lung full of polluted earth air. Breathing fluid, then breathing air, requires forecful choke-like coughing. My youngest son was born asleep too. Until he had to breathe air. All of my children cried while trying to breathe their first breath
@@bonicraig9745 Birth pains is a actually a metaphor (dating back to two thousand years ago) for what is literally unfolding on the earth right now. Locusts swarms all across the planet - ravaging entire nations, consuming all the vegetation, leading to massive famine; massive species die-offs globally; plagues and pestilence; wars and rumors of wars ; insane weather patterns never seen before with intense volatility in sudden, unpredictable storms; earthquakes in diverse places increasing in intensity and in frequency; Russia, Iran and Turkey all joining forces against the nation of Israel (they're now allies and are occupying the borders of Israel as we speak - something unheard of until just a few years ago)... every single indicator that Jesus provided in His Word regarding exactly what would happen right before the 7 year tribulation begins IS HAPPENING. The only prophetic event still pending is the complete and total devastation of Damascus. This could happen at any minute (clearly, as Beirut illustrates). Jesus said that just as a woman in labor experiences increasingly painful and frequent "pangs" which indicate the delivery of her child is near, so it will also be with these signs upon the earth as the final seven year tribulation is about to begin. To anyone reading this: Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God. He gave His life as payment for the wages of your sin in order to reconcile you back into His Kingdom for all eternity. He died a brutal death because He LOVES YOU. He gave His life to save yours - because He VALUES YOU, THAT MUCH. Enough to shed His own blood for you, knowing you might still reject Him. You do not get to cease existing when this life is over. You are an eternal CREATED being with an eternity that's being determined by the choices you make right now. Receive the mercy of Christ Jesus. Admit you have have sinned (if you aren't sure you have, check out the 10 commandments), and turn away from those sins (this is called repenting). Confess that He is the only Son of God, that He alone can save us. Believe that He has redeemed you from eternal punishment. And start reading the Word of God every day. He will show Himself to be who He says He is, if you seek him sincerely and ask Him to reveal the Truth to you. He's an incredibly loving Savior.. intimacy with Jesus is the only way to be spared from the next 7 years to come.
This validates my decisions in life of not following the norm, of combining my passion with my expertise, of having goals and understanding my uniqueness, of not following the norms, of getting myself out a depression.....very insightful
As my ex husband says, "it's never too late until you're dead" He is so right about that!! Idk... I'm ready at 50 to be who Father created me to be. And that is independent of my past failures, or what people say....

What if you are not a failure? Dear friend, I understand what you might feel. I sometimes feel the same way. I want you to know that you are not a failure. You are a beautiful Being. The thoughts that tell you that you are a failure are the ones that lead to situations that confirm that you're a failure. It is the ego's way of deceiving you. Don't be fooled. “You’ve got to wake up & realize there is an urgency! You gotta have a path- if you don’t have a plan or a purpose, your ROTTING on a vine & when you wake up- it won’t be good. You’ll be 60 years old and think, I could have been this or I could have done that“ that is one hell of a motivator in & of itself….
Please don’t put a number on having any goals… Even people that have had goals could have achieved them and lost everything at the age of 60 and have to start all over again making a goals ect ect ect the only limit there is is the one we put for ourselves.. please don’t do that.
@@Jessica-is-WisePsalm1 I didn’t do that! In the video, he states that. I just recited what he said in the video. Just an observation, it seems that people that are older or nearing/ over 60 take this comment super personal… I too am close to 60, so I am not pointing fingers…Life is anything you make it- at any age. As long as your still 6 feet above ground, healthy & able- live your life without any limitations or reluctance…the video is simply stressing the urgency - don’t wait- live NOW
You got to have a plan
What is this urgency, where are you going ? Run run run chasing your shadow . No matter how fast you go there you are . The urgency is to be here now , you accomplish all you want the pain in your stomach will still be there
@@smokefeet lol- that’s not the point- the point is stop taking time & life for granted. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today, live your dreams and passions with no fear or regrets- life moves quickly & death is next- have passion & urgency with fulfilling your dreams while you still have good health & life…. Now if your happy with where you are in your life - nothing wrong with taking it easy either….

I wish I had someone around me whispering this kind of stuff everyday instead of doubt and negativity.
the only way to heal that is to be that person that you needed and that is the test of unselfishness because people present themselves as not worthy of encouragement ..and does that mean we have presented ourself that way ? I probably have and at the same time and in the same day could have used some encouragement ..cheers, Zaga
"A leader is a dealer in hope"

Focus more on yourself and move forward.
His book The Laws of Human nature will be ideal for you right now.
Follow your heart.
Follow peace. Don't take things personally. Keep balance. You create your own life. X
Very few people know what they want to do with their life at age 18. You'll be fine. You'll figure it out. Give it time.

There is one thing he is forgetting to say "if you are the best in the room, you are in the wrong room" so anyone who is able to put shine their boss, shouldn't be at that job, " you become a great master by always being in the room with people who are better at your skill than you.
thank you! this right here!
That is you can harvest power and money by investing in selling products and services that exploit others lazyness and lack of abillity to controll their emotions
Rule 4: choose the pain of learning and maintaining self discipline or choose the pain of regret og self denail.

"95 % of what really matters in communication between people is not through words. Words are used to deceive you, to disguise what people are really thinking." Robert Greene
This is a new Era compared to 20 years ago
It won t work now. And instead of saying how can I help you
They say WHAT? OR WHAT DO YOU WANT??
If words are used to deceive then all sentences are deceptive. Including the sentence "words are used to deceive"
Also it would also logically follow that all Greens' books are deceptive as they use words.
This quote exposes Greens' lack of precision and poor ability to explain.
Maybe he meant words can be used to deceive. Which is just obvious
I am very thankful for this message from Robert green! Peace and love to everybody in tune with this frequency
lucky are the people who know what they want in life ... majority are just surviving life ..
Totally agree with u
Surviving is the overall objective , knowing what you want is an illusion
I don’t know you, but I’m rooting for you.
Age is just a number
Go for it whether dropping a guitar a brush or a pencil
All the best

Where can I learn more about This please?
The two most important attitudes for a beautiful life: gratitude and love
These two qualities will ensure whatever you do, wherever you are; you will speak and act beautifully, and the world will be brighter.

Agree
You are very wise.
What a blessing to always have known who you were meant to be. So many of us are late bloomers.

@@louie1086, how do you fix that if you are a medical provider and you try to do what is best for a patient and your boss gets jealous. I cannot do worse just to please my boss since the patient either suffers or feels worse than he/she could feel otherwise. It would be immoral.
@@Ot-ej5gi In this profession the patient comes first, stick to being the best provider you can be and let your bosses jealousy sit with him or her.
I disagree with that part of the video. We are not here to be seen as "good and friendly" all the time by other people just to take care of their ego. If other people are insecure, jealous or egocentric, that's THEIR problem, not yours.

I'm happy this video showed up on my feed as fast as my life turned I gotta get it back on track asap
Yes it's called trauma. We are initiated into and subjected to trauma from the moment we enter the birth canal. There's your revelation.
"birth pains" is a metaphor for the pains and hardships of beginnings until you master it.
To anyone reading this:
Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God.
