You can tell Robert is a author, he speaks how he writes.
He really does, and the orators for his audio releases capture that very essence...it's extremely weird....
He's probably practiced and is reading some of it off of a teleprompter, but yeah, it's exactly how I've read every book of his.

@@elijahgarcia5504 i think that he felt lost for many years when also people told him his writings arent good enough but over the years and after accmulating a lot of life expiriences and with his internal knowlege of himself he reached a point in life where he intuitvley started to see how all of the dots of his life started to get aligned into his own destiny

In other words, it means that when you're following your "primal inclinations" that Robert talks about, you develop your own unique perspective from your insights, and opportunities that are in alignment with where you are with your understanding of that, will be attracted to you, instead of you having to seek them yourself. So how to work with this? Keep following the thread of your interests. All of it might not make sense right now, but that's the point. Keep following your interests, and at some point, you'll be able to connect the dots between them and you'll have clarity on your unique purpose and position. Strive to know yourself, your perspective, position, and passions in this life, share them with others and you will be known and remembered.
It means taking the time down on your craft. It may seem small right now, but it will eventually compound. People will start to notice your improvement, and opportunities will be there for you, not because there aren't anything before, but because you are actually aware of them now.

Robert Greene is a master at the subjects he wrote about in his books. Having read most of his books, I've been able to find true meaning in life, I've also been able to transform myself. The golden knowledge in his books is an eye opener that will illuminate your mind..
No he's not. His 33 "Laws" of war show he has zero experience in that field. Likewise, so too do many of his 48 "laws" of power.

It is very apparent that he is passionate and genuine about what he is trying to convey. Maybe he's not the typical 'inspirational speaker', but he is genuine.

hes not an inspirational speaker.. he's not even a professional speaker at all, he's an author.. but yes his work is inspirational for sure
There are a couple of levels of viewing information (might be more);
1. Accepting it is there (that is what you are doing). This will make you see that there are is a diverse and interesting world out there, but nothing else.
2. Believing information. This will make you see patterns in the world, understanding why things are happening (this is where I am at)
3. Using information. Doing the things people who are where you want to be tell you to do. This will give you success.
4. Testing information. This has the possibility to make you great!
Start moving up
There is a difference between public speaking & inspirational speaking even though Robert has inspired millions through his writtings, interview and talk. What more inpiration do you want?
These inspirational speakers are never genuine. They give the people the stereotypes they love. But the worst are the drama music and the picture of 'beautiful' people looking meaningful into nothingness.
His book 48 Laws of Power is a must read for those who crave to understand human nature. Emotional resonance, sounds very convincing to me, I love you Robert Greene.
You want to couple it with 12 rules for life by Jordan Peterson. I promise you will cease existing and begin living

This is my interpretation from what I have learned from him:
Knowing your interest is knowing your identity, and that what matters in the end.
Despite of the setbacks or a lot of failures, those thing won't matter, because you enjoy the process of doing it, just having fun while leanring to do better at the same time. Because of your love in your craft , the rest is just a byproduct ( being promoted to work, finally selling a book million of copies, landed your dream job . . .etc).
Years of hardwork wil pay off someday, and you never know that you have transformed yourself because after all those years it seems you are just having fun. And that is because what you do is aligned with your interest ( your identity ).

I don't know if that advice will work for you. I don't your whole story, your personal circumstances.
But all I know is that self discovery is a life time journey. The world and everything around keep changing.
Just do what you can do now . . .and make sure what you do at the present moment will have some sort of impact to your future self.

I feel like everything that this guy is saying was meant for me. My current situation in life is at a point where it feels all avenues have been exhausted and some kind of internal revolution is now taking place.
His wisdom and experience will only resonate with a select few at a certain place in time. How grateful I am for him to share this story. His message is profound and full of a depth unheard of in any commentary. Kudos Mr. Greene, I needed to hear this at this time.
I just heard about him in the year 2021 because Jay Shetty interviewed him. If Jay Shetty interviewed him, he must be good. I say this because I adopted Jay Shetty as my mentor when Covid started.
Now, look at what happens to you as you adopt this very different, internally driven mindset.
Because you are headed in a direction that resonates with you personally and emotionally, the hours of practice and study don't seem so burdensome. You can sustain your attention and your interests for a much longer period of time. What excites you is the learning process itself, overcoming obstacles, increasing your skill level.
You are immersed in the Present instead of obsessing over the future, and so you pay greater attention to the work itself, and the people around you, developing patience and social intelligence.

"If you do really like what you’re doing, it doesn’t matter what it is, you can eventually become a master of it. It’s the only way to become a master of something, to be really with it. And then you’ll be able to get a good fee for whatever it is. So don’t worry too much. Somebody’s interested in everything. And anything you can be interested in, you’ll find others who are."
Alan Watts was a true sage. He had enough humility for himself and for what Greene lacks. Watts had a good grip on how finite, temporal, and insignificant our human existence is, when compared to the Whole of the infinite.
A good writer writes about his society not about himself .

Due to a stopover in Amsterdam, and waiting for two days for the only connecting flight back to Australia (15 years ago) I found Roberts first book,, "The 48 Powers" , in a small book/coffee shop, and the next two days were one of the changing point in my life. I have continued buying his books as they come available. A wonderful writer, that makes the understanding of the unusal daily occurrances and what they really mean, exciting. Life has become more interesting and exciting with his incisive understanding of the everyday, scenarios we play out..
I've created my own music for 9+ years now and can say that 10,000 hour mark makes a lot of sense! After all those years of practice and coming up with new music and challenging myself it suddenly clicked and became more "fluid" like he said. The gear was set in place!!

When I focus on my plan and growth, I feel peaceful, quiet and concentrated. When there are any negative voices of other people in my mind, I feel anxious and frustrated mostly.

I often say that you can take 2 people on the same exact skill level, and one would be viewed as greatness while the other can be viewed as mediocre... from a spiritual perspective, I think its simply cause of the energy that one gives off that the other one doesn't. People will always respond to energy.
Robert's books are probably the most interesting pieces of writing I've read. He does indeed pick the perfect anecdotes for the different laws he presents and you just don't want the book to end.
They are addictive, they are interesting and worth every penny.
Really enjoy his style of speaking. Slow paced and very calming to hear. Almost as if I am listening to music. Truly a wise man.

After listening to many talks by Alan Watts and Terence Mckenna to name a few, I'm very impressed by what Robert has to say about his life experiences. I'll be looking up further words of wisdom by Robert. And if you are reading this and not heard of Alan Watts and Terence Mckenna I recommend checking out their words of wisdom.

I didn't have to be in the audience to feel as if he is speaking directly to me, as everything he said resonated with me to the bone.. so many insights of the human mind, behaviour and inner struggles/conflicts that he went through and most of us too, yet he managed to make it 'normal' when other people in society/lives may have criticised or misunderstood our choices in life.. Mr Greene is truly a beacon of hope for so many of us that feels trapped, under utilised and/or valued for being 'different'... thank you for sharing your experience, belief and 'Laws' that some find hard to understand in this world but not have a better hold of the concepts and thus fight to burst through our self-manifested shield to go out there to the world to share our own unique sense of being, now that we are 'transformed'.. 😊

My God... I was soooo depressed before I watched this!!! It's like he's telling my story, well before the success part and the 50 plus jobs I've had is all starting to make sense 😂... seriously I will thank this man one day for sharing his story and changing my life!!!

Bad experience is still valuable experience - it teaches you the necessary skills to overcome challenging situations and serves as an eye opener to your character. As for me, I consider egotistical bosses, psychopathic colleagues, and negative cultures in an organization that I've worked for years as a sign to stir myself in another direction.
The way to transform my self is through my work.
The way to bring meaning to my life is to be of a service to the community around me.

I don’t usually find it productive to comment on YT videos but, Mr. Greene is absolutely correct!
However, there’s deeper truth and significance to his talk. He speaks from a point of experience and introspection.
We are “Engineered” by our experiences and thoughts which goes beyond physical and mental processes.
Those who are interested should search for “Inner Engineering”. It explains why we as human beings are the only species that seek infinite growth. Also search YT for Samadhi.

I have experienced exactly what you talk about toward the end of your presentation.
I too, had quit my job to follow my spiritual path, just to find out that this way was not sustainable. I went back to work two years later and now I am on constantly figuring things about myself, but I am doing small steps. I am happy in my job and make larger progress than I had anticipated in designing and finding my path.

It was an absolutely amazing book. I first bought the audiobook but there were so many good things in the book i ended up buying the physical and highlights points in it and making notes to go back to it.

I have a new respect for Robert Greene. I have never connected to any of his writings merely because the subject matter does not interest me. But he does know this subject. I was born with the ability to focus so intensely I can make the entire world disappear. A trait that was beaten out of me by parents, teachers and later work supervisors because I was not intensely focused on people and others found that unsatisfactory for their purposes. At 50 I discoveredink as an art medium and can lose entire days to that activity. It still displeases people that I am uninterested in them. But being focused on them was not why I am here.
This talk was phenomenal perspective, Thank you so much for this, I did not want it to end.

I love his 48 laws book. It allows me to understand and avoid or handle sociopaths who crave power in my life. Most people do not crave power over others, but those who do can be very annoying and even dangerous.
