That’s because the choices were yours. They weren’t forced on you. Everything was organic. The people who interacted with you weren’t pretending but being themselves. You cut off people you didn’t like and no one bat an eye. You talked to people who you liked back and both of you reciprocated. You met people you liked and had genuine long lasting friendships, who were there for you, never too busy to see you and supported you. People let you LIVE and flourish, while they lived and flourished themselves. You were surrounded by WHOLE and lovely people. Not broken, traumatised and flawed people, who never attain happiness, fail to find happiness, ruin every second of every day, know how to put you off in seconds and can’t see you happy or successful. You were safe from traumatised, cynical, pessimistic and broken people. Surrounded by WHOLE and lovely people. Of course, that will make you happy.

Genuinely did you learn anything applicable from his book on seduction? I think it's one of the worst books that has been written on the topic in the last few decades.
TH-cam recommended this video. I decided to watch it because the title captivated me. I guess we gravitate towards things that we resonate with. I've always felt like my life is a mess; it has no direction. So, yeah. Why not give the vid a shot? In the course of the video, there was a mention of "Nothing goes to waste" which has always been my motto in trying to justify all the seemingly useless stuff that I did in my life. I felt validated. But the truth is, it's only when I look back that then I could connect the dots. Truly nothing is wasted. I think as long as we are moving forward and just striving to do things that matter to us, there will be a reason for it in the future and only then will we realize that the thing we did was not a waste. But, of course, when we know for certain that what we're doing now is not useless, it does help ease the anxiety. But life is full of unknowns. I guess we just have to trust that what we're doing right now is what's meant to be.
Went to high school - NCSSM 1989-1991; was likely the dumbest kid in the whole school. It was very tough but I acceptable that I cannot compete in life in certain fields/areas. Since high school, failed many times, rejected many times. Allowed me to rethink what I can be good at and help me develop persistence and the habit of work hard. Now, I am part of a happy family and a "relatively" successful nephrologist.
I'm so amazed at how Robert is so humble and modest even with the amount of fame and popularity he received in the last 20 years, it's so rare these days. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to his life, I know I am relating to it (also had dozens of different jobs while knowing exactly the few things that I am passionate about...but didn't listen to that inner voice of becoming an entrepreneur with those skills and interests). Listening to how he explains things and how we must approach life destroys all the hundreds of "motivational gurus/salesmen" we see online.

Being an introvert is NOT equal to social anxiety/self esteem. They are two different things but can present the same. It time people stop grouping the traits from either as one.
But remember from a technical standpoint extraversion is associated with positive mood and assertiveness so the lack of it I.e introversion , is often associated with lack of assertiveness and at least a perceived lack of amiability
Yep, while there is correlation with shyness (for obvious reasons: less social experience and, thus, less social skills) a.k.a. neurosis, they are different things.
@@davyroger3773 I'm an introvert and assertive as hell. Too assertive actually as I tend to scare people away. This society has become so soft and fragile, in order to get a job these days, do the least amount of work and the worst job getting it... If you're highly ambitious like me, screw everyone else and just start your own business. At least that way you can maintain a high-quality standard and you don't need to be worried about living up to others' expectations. This is a long comment about how this video made me think for at least 2 hours. - What I have found enormously insightful from this conversation is when Robert shared the feedback he was receiving about Mastery at 36:44 in this video. I find myself in this situation. For the past year, I decided to get back to graphic design and how to make money out of it as I am sick and tired of working in customer service. That way I found my way to branding and user experience and a few other categories. Now I have a great framework of how people negotiate and close jobs, how they sell, but what makes my profession change very hard. I find myself great on theory in my thoughts but when it comes to the craft my skills are very poor, and I only have the illusion that I am good. I am definitely agreed that you cannot skip on the apprenticeship and find great mentors in order to become great at something and that makes me feel very anxious. I very am thankful for the insightful conversation that I had a chance to watch. Will definitely take some time to reflect on Robert's comment. I really wish to see more amazing content from your channel, Bryan!

Oh boy is that the truth about ENVY being the biggest danger…. You don’t see it until it’s too late …… ENVY…. made my life a total misery… but at the time I didn’t know and was not aware that was the reason why I was being persecuted… I was oblivious.. …I am soo grateful to Robert Greene ..and his books… also for these videos they are very much appreciated Thank you 🙏 💛🌻🏴🇦🇺
Thanks so much , very enlightening
The mindset that you're on the right station, you're just dialing in the frequency is perfect!
That's a really helpful way to look at finding your Life's task!
Starting at the fact that the self is transitory, discovering ourselves is an always calibrating and endless journey. Outstanding interview, your interviewing skills are simply amazing!
thanks!
Thank you sir, anytime I see a long content video about Robert Greene I always gain tremendous insight. Not only about human nature but about myself.
48 laws of power is so important for everyone to read once and when you feel abit of a dip in life and you are looking for an answer again re read it or parts you need from it, you may find that something you were missing or failing to understand in how to play your next move and to make it one of your best
Love this interview! Thank you Bryan!!!!! I subscribed!
thank you!
I appreciate his well though out responses and at 67, I’ve also had a very challenging life full of adventures with the ups and downs. I always thought I might like to be a author, but I didn’t know what I could write about, so that others would be interested in reading my story’s. Now with this interview, it has given me the seeds to play with, and develop some aspects of my own life’s journey to commit the written page.
I’ll buy your book.
@@hobojungle1 actually I’ve started it a “Romance Action Thriller”
Titled “Trading Shoes With my Lover” Why she let me go. . . . . .
Starting on a second book “Finding Mary”, a day in the life of an Expat
First book leads to the second book and half way around the world to South East Asia
I’m creating a board game on the subject and life experiences in SOUTH EAST ASIA
and eventual digital version also so others can play my life long thrilling adventures coming true
@@TruthFinder7839well-done to you
I’m reading the Laws of Human Nature and his writing style is so effortless and easy to understand and interpret. I like listening to him talk too
thanks for watching Julia!
That glass table is working overtime.
Lol true
Astute observation. More interesting is the fact that you made at least 50 people scroll up and look at Robert Greens table.
@@GeorgeDrippyyeah okay
I. Was born in 59 also but didn‘t get anywherr near rhis. I read the 48 laws of power and value this book with accuracy. Being a lawyer who must use language and preciseness as a tool to work with, this interview is very inspirational.
Appreciate constructive comment
Robert Greene is still going strong! Still hungry. I love this man🌹
thanks!
I had the pleasure of interviewing Robert for my podcast. Such a pleasant guy. So polite and humble.
I know I’m not the typical reader of Roberts work, but I have so enjoyed his perspectives on life, power, and mastery. Great interview!
thanks
Robert Greene the 50 cent story is pure gold. If one is going to "fail" along this path, what better story than that! ROFL!!!
May Robert greene live long!
hearing those of your setbacks makes me feel im long way up to my life to be depresed about in my own situation right now. this makes me feel so great and motivated.
kind of relating too
I love Robert Greene's books and his interviews are just as captivating and informative; thank you, great show!!!
Amazing interview. We need more minds like Robert Greene in this crazy insane fake world we are living in
I agree
the world is fake but Robert is the insane one,by trying to be authentic.
Obviously you haven't read his books 🤣
I agree he is amazing 😍
Deflect envy...my god if l wrote all these books with all that cash no one would get a look in...l would love it..
Don't appear to perfect l am still learning at 64
You can also learn from your haters..
This is speaking directly to my soul as a writer. Thank you Mr. Greene, thank you Behind the Brand.
Thank you a lot Mr Greene for all your work. I have just completed reading the law of nature book, i am re- reading the 48 laws of power , and mastery. I am becoming reacher and better with these materials. Thanks a lot for making your work easily accessible. May you be spared longevity for more materials to come out of your life
I love Robert Greene’s books I am obsessed with this man, he’s so down to earth and so humble. ❤❤❤
Thanks to this, I decided to quit social media forever. I could feel people's bad energies through the screen. I wanted to share my happiness but they weren't happy with mine. I already have to deal a lot by myself and having other people throw shit at you constantly, people you thought were your friends, is just too much to handle. I'm a pretty lonely person but I rather stay like this than having to deal with the BS that's out there.
Boo hoo
💖 good for you, look after yourself first and foremost.. @16Meily
I kinda did the same so I totally understand ur perspective, its very lonely n depressing but it doesn’t help totally especially in today’s world . I dnt have the appropriate answers as i am trying to find for myself too maybe thats why iam on this video
Interesting
Yep, while there is correlation with shyness (for obvious reasons: less social experience and, thus, less social skills) a.k.a. neurosis, they are different things.
@@davyroger3773 I'm an introvert and assertive as hell. Too assertive actually as I tend to scare people away. This society has become so soft and fragile, in order to get a job these days, do the least amount of work and the worst job getting it...
If you're highly ambitious like me, screw everyone else and just start your own business. At least that way you can maintain a high-quality standard and you don't need to be worried about living up to others' expectations. Because I can literally just stand completely still and still leave up to most of them.
@@True38 what does assertive exactly mean? Speak your mind no matter what?
Listened to this on my morning walk…. Love synchronicities… I’m currently 35 and have been wanting to write a book for a couple years thanks for this timely reminder I’m right on track👌🏽
I would pay you to wite a book i have the story for.
Greene is a mentor of mine, even if he is not personally aware of it 🙏💕✌️
I like that your way of interviewing has provided a chance to hear Robert's words in a sort of spontaneous chat. I could clearly hear what he had to say about different things- which is incredibly helpful.
Robert Greene'i çok seviyorum. 🥰😍🙏💐💐💐
Which book is this?
True success = BEing yourself 💯
I am enamored by Greene and his ideas. Excellent interview! The interviewer didn’t waste a question or any time!
Quite enjoyed this interview of one of my favorite authors. Kudos to the intelligent interviewer too. It was a very pleasant and enlightening conversation.
thank you
Great to see Robert looking well. We need you 🚀🙌🏾
thanks
Robert Greene is great for inspiration and grounding, sensing where you're lacking in your discernment of how your view of the world could be improved.
Thought this was an old upload he’s so healthy I’m glad we collectively can raise RG up.. what are tremendous author of pouring it out for all is to read. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
RG is a legend
Great story Mr. Greene! I appreciate your authenticity! 🎉
I appreciate that
It’s interesting how I like the video before watching it because I know I’m going to love listening to Robert Greene before hand
thanks Rob!
Confirmation bias
Mr Robert Greene is the not only the best author, but the best psychologist . If you want a brutal , honest advisor, he is the ONE.He can teach us to improve the behaviour especially when you are new to the job.
So happy Mr. Greene is doing better🙏🏻
thanks Chris!
Robert Greene's perspective is gold ✨ I want to hear more from him! 💛
Such an inspiration. I have been listening to all his interviews. Love love this man!
" One day"! I'm gonna write my own book as well. Thank you!
I completely agree with the interviewer about the time stamp context for events. Thank you.
Robert Greene, please write your autobiography with photos and memories of your writing phases it would be amazing!
That would make a great movie 🎥
I have been listening to this interview so many times, maybe more than 50 times, now I get It 🥰🥰🥰 I already get What my talent is, just take times to improve it many years
This is a long comment about how this video made me think for at least 2 hours.

What I have found enormously insightful from this conversation is when Robert shared the feedback he was receiving about Mastery at 36:44 in this video.

What an amazing interview! I learned so much. Had a false judgement of Robert Greene before even reading his books or watching his interviews. You are an incredible interviewer!

I appreciate this man’s questions.

Loved this interview
It’s the first time I watch this channel and this interviewer loved how respectful he was and his questions were great👏❤️
Just wanted to comment on some times where I was waiting for him (Robert) to talk more about his story and vision but the interviewer cut him off it wasn’t all the time though ❤just something to consider next time and loved how genuine the interviewer was❤
I'm so glad that this found me. thanks Bryan
thanks Sean!
This is such a heartfelt, beautiful conversation. Thanks a lot for sharing.
This man looks like he’s been through hell and back and has the scars to prove it.
A real example of pain becoming power.
I salute you.
That was the best interview ever with Robert, ty!
I love how Robert quotes Get Rich or Die Trying as he's talking about 50. Robert you are my favourite author hands down, you gave me hope in my interests and showed me that it's possible to have a mentor who's an ex con hip hop star and another one who's an established billionaire CEO.
thanks for watching Jawad
@@BehindtheBrand Thank you for the video!
@@jsabra89 Interesting that 50 cent is also an established millionaire CEO simultaneously.
When you are struggling 'Fake it till you make it'. After success you recall your sob stories to become relatable!! 52nd law of power!!
Love how Greene travelled around the world, taking low paying jobs in inspirational cities just to have that inspiration to write books. Crazy good.
Contrived.
I think that's just how it was back in the day before technology Mike
same
@@mikewallis2987 I'm confused why you believe so. There are so many people that do this actually. Travel the world, discover cultures/experiences, and increase networking probability for success. Not made for everyone, but I can see someone like Greene doing this.
@Michael Smith right. So Privileged
wow by far the most interesting interview Ive seen of robert greene, great job!!!!

Thank you! I really enjoy the full-length interviews on your channel.
Excellent interview I really enjoyed how this was a little different to what I’ve seen before.
Robert Greene is a humble Genius who knows how people operate
Great talk. Such powerful points. One of the best interviews you have done. Keep it going.
A true realist! My mindset always. I adore Robert!!
“I have seen every kind of power manoeuvre, I’ve had the worst bosses in the history of mankind..”
