GDDR5 models will usually have much greater memory overclocking and overall performance compared to the DDR3 models. Try getting one of those and compare the performance because I think people may have seen great performance from friends and reviews on the GDDR5 model and accidentally bought the DDR3 one
Please, overvolt the GPU to get more performance, I think that you will need to modify the bios because Nvidia doesn't unlock the voltage on their cards. But that will be funny. I think that you could get with +0.25v, +550mhz in the core.
On the Kepler, there is for sure a firmware voltage limit, but the reason you don't see the voltage and power limit adjustment in MSI Afterburner in this video is that he probably forgot to enable the override/driver in the Afterburner settings, because it shouldn't have a hard locked voltage on the GPU, it should allow some adjustment with stock firmware. Naturally applying voltages and power limits higher than the firmware maximums will silently fail, but there is probably like 150-200mV actual adjustment in there and maybe 10% on the power limit. With firmware mods, you should be able to get the voltage and power limit way up.
that option is locked out in the BIOS/FW of the card, and unless anyone who knows how to mod/rewrite fw is interested in doing so for CLOUT its not likely to happen. hardware modding is however always an option, i have a gt 710 laying around that i am not using but i dont wanna risk breaking it by modding without proper tools, ,mainly cause my every day gpu is a gts 240 OC'd and if that dies then i'll need that 710, and since i dont have the money to buy another GPU i cannot risk breaking it. if anyone wants to DM me and send me a card to mess around with id be more than happy to attempt hard and soft mods to it.

Cards like this are useful for systems that just do youtube playback, and/or you want to offload the system RAM otherwise dedicated to the Intel iGPU or GFX node of an AMD APU, or for a system that doesn't have integrated graphics. They're great for local decode for home media servers, as a GPU for a pro audio recording rig, or for an HTPC that you'll only be doing 1080p or 1440p playback of local or LAN stored files. They can also function as a dedicated PhysX processor paired with another nVidia DGPU, or with an AMD or Intel GPU if you hack the drivers. The problem is, these cards are NOT meant for gaming graphics, and they were NEVER intended for it.
With temps this low, you have leeway to push voltage like crazy. The series is easy to BIOS-mod to unlock the power and voltage limits, i had done so myself - naturally i didn't have a 710, but some other Kepler, and i mean 710 should be a true Kepler, right?
They have two types plus I just found the gddr5 one lol so it’s such a mess with these cards but they are all crap you can get a 7790 for the same price that will run circles around it
i think the main reason these are sold is because its better then the stock intel gfx, not on a 9900k but on something like a core 2 duo or core duo quad an shit like that, its for OLD pc's to be able to play dvd, encode video faster, etc, etc, not for gaming performance at least that's what i use these cards for and no to mention the HDMI output for newer monitors and tv's
I have one of these, but only for testing purposes. Its the cheapest PCI-E card. To have a PCI-E gpu on hand is extremely helpful for troubleshooting of pc issues. I dont wanna move my 7900xt to a pc from a friend of mine to test his rig.
My spare/backup system is an HP 8200 with an i7-2600 with 16GB ram and a Zotac GT 710 with 4 GB of GDDR3 RAM. It consistently cranks out 59 - 60 FPS. It's a good card for an older system.
I’m buying this as a placeholder for my 3070, so I can check that my new pc works as I still can’t get my hands on a 3070. So yeah, my $1500 pc will be using a $35 card
There's a huge delta between the GDDR5 versions of the GT710 and the DDR3 variants. The GDDR5 2GB version has tons more memory bandwidth and runs circles around the UHD630, still.. not great value for money.
I love that it's still significantly worse than the Intel Integrated graphics even when overclocked. Not that I expected anything better but it just relays how shocking the GT 710's performance is.
This video makes me remember the good old days, when I was trting to play rocket league with my friends with that GT 710 and I could barely do 720p 30FPS. Only because I decided to do a pc when I was 14/15 and had no idea on what to do and what kind of GPU was actually powerful. And when I first attached this beast to my old pc (a desktop that I got from my grandpa, with a pentium 4) I remember disconnecting every component possible because I was scared that GT 710 required too much power. I have one in my parents pc, rockin the e7400, givin it enough graphic power for all basic windows tasks, can pick the 710 up for around 20 25 used, new price is ridiculous indeed
i think a better comparison against this is is older HD graphics like the 4000 found on ivy bridge cpu's. These likely arent ending up in new builds as much as they are in older office pc's.
only thing limiting right now would be voltage, memory bandwidth and power delivery could be a problem aswell here since it runs off of PCIE only but for general use this is actually worth it
I contributed to this. Bought two for a machine a few days ago. Needed 3 monitor output but didn't want to give a gaming card to my security staff and we didn't want to use USB so they get two of these lol

The problem is, these cards are NOT meant for gaming graphics, and they were NEVER intended for it.
omg dawid you look so goofy cleanshaven LOL. I'm glad you have a sick beard 'n stache now
Just get the Ddr5 version
I use this video as a benchmark to Overclock my own GT710s, very helpful.
With temps this low, you have leeway to push voltage like crazy. The series is easy to BIOS-mod to unlock the power and voltage limits, i had done so myself - naturally i didn't have a 710, but some other Kepler, and i mean 710 should be a true Kepler, right?
That sounds awesome! I will try to push it to the limit.
My thoughts as well, kick that voltage!
gt 710 also came in fermi as well the gddr5 version is kep and the others are fermi
@@amdintelxsniperx What really, you don't mean the GT730?
They have two types plus I just found the gddr5 one lol so it’s such a mess with these cards but they are all crap you can get a 7790 for the same price that will run circles around it
There is something special about a South African accent. Great content my friend!
He's from south africa?
Me who plays cyberpunk with a non overclockedgt 710 at 11 constant fps
😎
Thats actually pretty solid for a 710 tbh
Simply using the GT 710 for my new PC while all the RX 6800 series cards are sold out :'(
Congrats on 50k my dude...………...
Thank you very much!! I super excited. 😃
i think the main reason these are sold is because its better then the stock intel gfx, not on a 9900k but on something like a core 2 duo or core duo quad an shit like that, its for OLD pc's to be able to play dvd, encode video faster, etc, etc, not for gaming performance at least that's what i use these cards for and no to mention the HDMI output for newer monitors and tv's
First!!
Really like your videos, they are truely interesting and funny.
That is awesome! Thank you very much for the nice comment. :D
I have one of these, but only for testing purposes. Its the cheapest PCI-E card. To have a PCI-E gpu on hand is extremely helpful for troubleshooting of pc issues. I dont wanna move my 7900xt to a pc from a friend of mine to test his rig.
The Intel integrated graphics ain't bad, my 620 can run Crysis 2!
Integrated graphics can run a lot of older games. I used integrated until a few days ago for gaming.
My spare/backup system is an HP 8200 with an i7-2600 with 16GB ram and a Zotac GT 710 with 4 GB of GDDR3 RAM. It consistently cranks out 59 - 60 FPS. It's a good card for an older system.
I installed this card to speed up DVD ripping. It cut the time in 1/4 as compared to my native (old) Intel graphics on the i5-3330.
I have a old desktop windows xp for life
I’m buying this as a placeholder for my 3070, so I can check that my new pc works as I still can’t get my hands on a 3070. So yeah, my $1500 pc will be using a $35 card
Knew the out come but still watched good video bud keep it up 👍
Thank you. :)
@@DawidDoesTechStuff congratulations on 50k 👍
im sorry, i couldnt listen to anything you were saying. your mustache was louder!
Dude I have i5 GT710 . The tempreture is Maximum GPU Tempreture 68 degree celcius while gaming . Is it OKAY for the Card ??
Excellent content. Earned a sub from me
Bought the GT710 w/ 4 HDMI out simply for the output expansion. Works perfectly for this
There's a huge delta between the GDDR5 versions of the GT710 and the DDR3 variants. The GDDR5 2GB version has tons more memory bandwidth and runs circles around the UHD630, still.. not great value for money.
This was actually a cool video, I enjoyed it.
Try the r7 240 it similarly priced on amazon
I overclocked most gt710 graphics card on our school back then, performed great.
I'm not joking
RIP GT 710 :(
:(
Casually continues talking after his lights catch on fire
Voltmod it, it's just a cheap card :)
Just for fun try to get GT 320 on your hands, it's some sort of OEM card but can take heck of an overclock
That sounds very exciting. I will see what I can do.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff Newlife has put nice guide for voltmodding the GT 710.. If you are unsure about something in that mod you could also ask from me :)
I'd really like to see you maxing that card out

I have nvidia gt710 2gb,is over clocking safe ,cuz I won't be getting a new PC soon :( , don't wanna blow up my current one
I'm interested to see what a modded vbios on this card would do with the fan setup....
I will definitely try that out.
my gt 1030 which i switched out almost a year ago.. wow. overclocking it made it absolutely awesome tbh.
could you look at gt 730?
I will do. :)
Do you think you could do a similar video to this but on the gtx 1030? Its only 30 dollars more expensive than the 710 but way newer and most likely a lot better. Do the benchmarks and overclock the hell out of it, to see if something like that can compete with intel integrated graphics. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
I got this card, and i can play cs go on highest settings with 52 fps
That's a bad result tho. 50fps in csgo isn't impressive. I've got a low end cheap gtx 1050 and get 170-200fps on highest.

@@OmPrakash-pc1ec yeah his cpu sounds bad. Sounds like the sort of fps I was playing at with a core 2 quad before I retired it
I love the stuff you do here
now buy another one and put them in sli ^^
Dobré video můj polský bratře!
can you please shave?
Uhm, I shaved right before the video. :P
These likely arent ending up in new builds as much as they are in older office pc's.
this is the content i subscribed for
That's actually pretty cool, to overclock it like like that much, strap a fan to it and it will run way cooler as before!
Why you use the DDR3 1GB? :V
It's normal see you can't reach the UHD 620
my friend OCed his gt 730 once without any fans.... he got 95 deegres on it
Try Nvidia inspector for overclocking
only thing limiting right now would be voltage, memory bandwidth and power delivery could be a problem aswell here since it runs off of PCIE only but for general use this is actually worth it
"my light just set on fire" WHAT
house catch on fire : sorry guys my house just suddenly decided to combust out of nowhere lmao, but let's get back on topic of this gt710
I contributed to this. Bought two for a machine a few days ago. Needed 3 monitor output but didn't want to give a gaming card to my security staff and we didn't want to use USB so they get two of these lol
Which card did you use Dawid? DDR3 or GDDR5? Not sure if there are others.....
What most reviewers fail to understand is that 2x money is quite significant for a lot of people holding on to 2nd or 3rd gen intel core processors.
But... the igpus on those cpus would be equal or even better than the gt 710
Literally orderd one yesterday ima use it for either a core 2 duo or a low and i 5 system but this helped me out actually cus ima build my gaming pc in about a week but as we al know getting my hand on a gpu that i want is nearly impossible so i was considering the gt 710 as a replacement til my turn arieves is the egva listings but now i now i can best just use the igpu
The lights caught on fire cause they couldnt see that happening either 🤣
You should try getting a GTX 550Ti and see how much those can overclock. I remember having one as a teen and putting a 400+ mhz OC on the core and got some real good performance boosts out of it.
the reason the gt 710 sells so well is for office spaces that need above igpu graphical performance but also dont need that much either
