  • I visited Josh Kerson at Precision Ebikes in Fort Collins Colorado, to learn about the store history and what services he offers. They service any electric bike, can assemble new ebikes like Rad Power Bikes, Magnum, and ebike kit. Josh got a degree in light electric vehicle design and actually helped build the very first Aerobic Cruiser ebikes a decade ago. In fact, Josh has worked in the ebike space since 2011! His shop sells Ezee Bikes, E-Bike Kit, EBO Kits, Thundercycle, Liberty Trike, and more.

    I've seen him assemble a variety of brands. He is awesome! I had him fix my Ebike just a few months ago, and he really knows his stuff.

    E-bike history goes back to the 1800's but it was pioneers such as this gentlemen who helped bring innovation forward into the modern era. Thank you for this great interview. Would definitly entrust any project to this shop as his knowledge and appreciation for the e-bike is obvious.

    Josh is the real deal for Ebikes and he's truly filling the gap to help people find the perfect bike setup for their needs.

    Nice bloke, a lot of people think ebikes are a new thing.
    I got an ebike 2003, lead acid batteries, heavy as he'll, but it got me to work and back for years, until I built a 72 volt ebike from a kit that I attached to my Giant mountain bike. I know my original ebike is still going, an old lady is riding it in Poland.
    Now I have moved to Thailand from England and built a Bafang BBSHD onto a mountain bike.
    Keep up the good work.

    This shop rules! And is so critical for where electric bikes are going - service first! Dedicated spaces to design, repair, and refurbish

      Thanks soo much! I believe we could expand and open a few more shops like this to really try to service all types of e bikes.

    What a great guy and a great bike shop! Fort Collins is lucky to have them!
    My local shop will work on the mechanical systems of e-bikes they don’t sell, but won’t touch any electronics. Others simply won’t touch them. A few have started selling DTC brands such as Rad out of their stores and servicing them.

    super interesting, thanks for sharing this. I believe this is where the future is for bike shops, especially with all the direct to consumer brands this guy seems to be able to work on anything...and to also be Bosch certified!
    And I LOVE Fort Collins! :)

      Yeah, I was very impressed! Just like I said, he can work on some of the more affordable brands as well as Bosch! That’s very special, and I’d love to see more shops like this.

      Thanks soo much! I bet we could build a few more of these shops, train more e bike techs, and help to serve the e bike community.

    Gotta love those looptail drop-outs, especially on a BMX back in the 80s , glad to see it lives on in that blue bike.
    Does Bafang now has torque sensing in their BBS kits.

      Thanks soo much! It was really fun making this design, I look forward to getting them into production sometime, maybe with a BaFang motor system.

    No Adventon brand??

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I didn't see Aventon, but I'm sure he assembles and repairs them if someone buys direct, just like he said for Magnum, Blix, Rad, Electric Trikes etc.

    • @Joshk750w
      @Joshk750w 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, we are an authorized Aventon service center, we can do Warranty service, new parts, upgrades etc. 😊

    Why aren't more bikes full suspension? It seems like a no-brainer for ebikes.

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, people tend to go farther and faster on Ebikes because of the assist. Perhaps there aren’t as many full suspension models simply because of the added weight and cost?

      @@ElectricBikeReviewI've got to imagine that once you get to the $5k range the profit is there for the manufacturers. The equipped Turbo Tero 4.0 ($4500) has full suspension. As I ride my ebike greater distance, I find comfort to be a real issue.
