@@jakedonnely4094 It's really not that much better than what I get from my Engwe Engine X. I can do up to 40 miles on a single charge, but I'm going 17 mph on it most of the time. She was only doing 7 mph on average. Save your money and get something cheaper and faster, such as the Engine X.
Still, impressive range, certainly better than my bike (new). My range is set to 120 km in ECO, I'll estimate around 100 km in ECO on a good day. So 127 km, IRL range is very impressive indeed.
127 km?!? On an e-bike? I NEVER thought I would see the day! Comparing the capabilities of this to what was available when the channel start, just a short 4 years ago, is mind boggling. The rate of improvements in battery technology is awe-inspiring. I am shooketh, in all the best of ways. And way to go Eilis!! Just a short while ago you were having troubles riding due to medical troubles and now you've conquered 78.9 miles... in one day! Phenomenal!
It's amazing isn't it. My wife has an emtb with a Bosch motor and she always gets over 120km from every charge. Obviously she doesn't use it on full power, but enough to able her to ride big rides with me. My mate also has a shimano in a Merida big tour, and he gets about the same distance in the middle support mode. Batteries are 625w/630w. Im always amazed at how far they can go.
@@peterhoz Yes, the lady has, perhaps, not fully understood the range claims. Look at the small, print for the test conditions - weight of rider (plus extras) and likely a level, paved road in just one of the power modes.
Wow, I'm from a farm and those were the most chilled cows I've ever seen! they didn't give a damn. My cows would get a fright and run off. So funny how they knew to leave a gap for people to walk through, like a gang who would mug you and take your bike 😅😅
I think they are used to hikers and bikers regularly making their way through their space. I used to farm too and cattle become accustomed to strangers when they regularly encounter them. Also having a radio playing in the milking parlour or sheds makes them much more relaxed when strangers enter their space. Talk to any vet and they will tell you that cattle that are not handled regularly or used to strangers can be very nervous and stressed and dangerous to be handled for treatment or testing.
@@michaelmartin4383 Dairy cows rarely. Now if you are talking about cattle in general and particularly bulls or animals that aren't used to being handled or around people every day then that could be a little different. And obviously bulls or steers that have been castrated late can be very volatile. A playful bump from a friendly half ton cow could be bone breaking for a human.

Awesome adventure! As an Engwe M20 ebike owner I can confirm the range it's never what it's advertised and also, the battery level is rubbish... it should always be a number+% and never little bars when your commute depends on knowing that
i agree 100%. How do you plan your trip far away if the range is nowhere close to your trip. These companies are shameless. I would bring the bike back and get a refund.
This reminds me of the test ride i did in 2016 on my new ebike. I rode from my home to Blackpool North Pier, 52 miles, my battery died as arrived at south pier and only had a mile to ride without power. It was truly liberating to have that adventure, not worrying about getting stuck somewhere, knowing the bike power and range, and not feeling shot at the end as on a normal pedal bike.
I have 3 bikes, yet none of them are electric. For me personally, assisted speeds are too low for them to make sense as it's just added weight, yet I'm happy to see people getting options to get their fat asses moving and leaving their fartmobiles at home.
I’ve learned a lot on this channel, not just about electric bikes, but about places, tech, chocolate fudge… Eilís is a gem 💎, and the rest of the team is also very watchable. I’d love to see more material (a bit like @fullycharged) but I understand that the team has day jobs too and logistical limitations (for example, testing cars is a non-runner because they don’t have secure parking). But yes, I no longer have an e-bike, I want one because the one with most toys wins … but I don’t believe the north of England offers a suitable weather.
I watch from a different continent and I now know UK has a bikes issue which should be none of my concern. _REALITY - 98% are simps here. I can assure you if Eillis doesn't show up in a video the Viewing gonna go down, and they should experiment with this😂_
@@Alessandro--- it's the same bad weather if you are walking. Wear appropriate clothing and you'll be fine. Especially on an e-bike where the assist will deal with headwinds and hills, a good bike poncho covers all of you and the bike and it's easy on and easy off over your normal clothes. Problem solved.
I have same experience but different e bike Ado a20f, 36V + 10Ah I get 40-50km on assist mode, bike is 30kg + I am 83kg On just throttle mode, 10-15km. I would say you get for each e-bike 1Ah = 4-5km on assist and throttle 1Ah = 1-1.5km
Wow that's quite the challenge! Well done, an 80 mile ride is a long way. The wrong saddle or position can wipe you out over that kind of range. Even 20 miles on the wrong saddle or bike can do you in easily. Like a lot of things, long distance biking takes a while to learn and dial in. I'm very impressed!!!! It seems to me that a lot of things can affect range, going up hill, riding into the wind, gravel/dirt or other road conditions, some kind of friction on the wheels, i.e. brakes rubbing just a little, a wheel being out of true, tire pressure,... I focus a lot on the ease of wheel rotation on my bikes, I can rotate my wheels with a feather and they love to roll and roll and roll.
I have a self build ebike with a Bafang mid drive. One big bonus is I can replace my battery with ease - I wonder how easy it would be to buy a new battery for this Engwe ( or for a Tenways, Fiio, etc ) in 5 years time? The other thing I have is a 2nd battery that I take with me on longer rides. Zero range anxiety is liberating.
I love to watch these videos because they wonder if I can do these things with my multiple handicaps that I have. I would love to feel the wind and sun on my face. In my dreams I can fly. Blessings Georgie.
you really did well, battery range has been so exaggerated i was surprised you got that far, but it does seem to have great bicycle features.. thank you
Batteries do not struggle in the cold, they become more conductive at lower temps, therefore they lose part of the storage feature. Cold is electrons conductive delight
I love my electric bike ( decathlon riverside 500) which has got me back into biking after 40 years! It has a good range, especially in eco but I can see one day I’ll need a replacement, what a great review putting this one in my sights as a possible. Thanks!!
I really wish manufacturers wouldn't lie on their range capacity. Claiming 250 km of range is ridiculous when Ellie (who really isn't a heavyweight) can only get 120 on eco mode. I've managed to get 110 km out of my Giant Explore with its 625 Wh battery, mostly on Eco mode, and I probably weight two Ellies.
She didn't drive in eco mode, she took lots of terrain and 1500 ft elevation. Yeah, in ideal circumstances the double seems reasonable. Also, don't forget, she accelerated in 8 hours at least a 100 times. True, the company should say 80 miles, which could be extended by up to 50%.
@@dtz1000 I have a point to make, after murmuring. So, she didn't follow a main road, and got lost often. Stopped as well. She said herself, she was gearing up. Also, 1500 feet elevation is not a joke. 60 strory building, and more, because maps have an underestimation. Now the point. I struggled a lot with testing out which is the most eco, for cities are far from me, and the roads have ups and downs I struggled, because I had to pedal on straights (ain't easy), otherwise using 1st assist only, and from 5% up only a weak throttle help with heavy pedalling I discovered years latter, by pure accident, that the real eco is 2nd gear (or medium) and fly. That's keep it as fast you can. It's not only more fun, much faster and using less juice. Don't ask me, why. I have some clues, no science.
@@szolanek, I do my cycling in Bavaria on a Cube Kathmandu with a 750w battery, but while it is of course a big help riding up hills, I do try not to forget, that I have muscles in my legs 😅. The best way to extend the battery range is by turning it off... I rode 55km yesterday and still had 85% when I got home...
great stuff! I believe the only fair way to compare these bikes is to use full assist, ie no input from rider, same elevations etc. Then a comparison can be made, otherwise it can be altered by the input from different riders, lovely scenery, love the towpaths, perfect!
@@Tarmaccyclocross No, the appeal comes from being able to ride it like a bicycle. You can't ride an electric moped like you can a bicycle, its far heavier, generally has foot pegs instead of pedals (unless your moped was built pre 1977) and much higher top speeds. An electric moped also needs to be registered and insured as well as taxed.
The weather also plays a HUGE part in the battery usage. I have found with my electric bike if it’s to hot or to cold, the battery is depleted faster than on an overcast comfortably warm day!
If you cycle in Thailand, you don't need to pack food/drink at all. Practically all over the country there is 24 hour 7-11 stores (13,000 stores or more). There are also mom and pop convenient stores 3 times of that as well.
I bought an ebike back in 2015, it did about 15 miles on a charge, although I was going flat out unrestricted on it. So it's amazing to hear that you can go so far on one now
I've had my engwe engine x since October last year and it's been a good ebike but not without it's issues. I run two batteries, a 13ah in the frame and a 10ah on the back and I managed about 55 miles on pas2/3 out of 7 and that's with a lot of hills. It now has bmx bars and a 56 tooth chain ring to eliminate ghost pedalling and a power analyser so you know how much watts and amps the bike is using. At its peak was pulling 19anps at 960w. It will reset every time you turn the power off and it will show you how many amp hours you've used on each session.
I have the same ebike and think the power analyser you mentioned would be very useful on this ebike. What should i search for on the internet to find the power analyser? Searching for power analyser on AE doesn't get me anywhere.
Great job Eilis! I did similar ride years ago and I slept on my parents couch for 10 hours afterwards. I'm in the US and I now have a Ride 1 up Core 5, 750 watt motor with a 32 mile range and I love climbing hills I would never be able to otherwise. Always appreciate your opinion and perspective on fitness and informative ebike reviews.👍🚴
I am waiting for solid state batteries before upgrading my ebike which has an actual range of 60-70 miles in eco mode vs claimed up to 96 miles in eco mode. Most of my journeys on my e-bike are 20-35 miles anyway. I have yet to run the battery below 20% which I have read is very bad for the battery. Also, as a country we need a proper cycling network connecting towns, cities and villages- away from traffic if we’re serious as a country to make E-bikes an option for journeys of 100miles plus. Overgrown and blocked paths just aren’t cutting it. Edit: Also check out the national cycle network by sustrans. Still a mishmash of off-road and road but the best we have got atm. Looking at the e-bike again the claimed 160 miles on one battery should have raised red flags. If this was a dual battery set up ie check out the Niu dual battery e-bike or the R&M H4 then in excess of 100 miles is realistic, but one battery 160 miles? 🤥. Not surprised the actual range turned out to be half of that.
If Eilish had done that journey sticking to roads where she could have maintained a higher speed with the same effort, she probably could have got another 20 km or more. The range depends very much on the surface type, hills, headwinds, assistance level and of course, the weight of the rider and any other luggage. I'm waiting on my first e-bike with a 750w Bosch battery. It's allegedly got 120 km range on mixed terrain but I'm 2 metres tall and 120 kg and I carry a lot of luggage so add about 10-30 kg for every ride. Throw in the hills and winds and if I get 60 to 80 km per charge I'll realistically be very happy. More than 100 km and I'll be delighted. 80+ will get me to and from work for two days without having to charge. It is intended as an all round workhorse commuter and car alternative.
Exactly- how you ride it and terrains, wind resistance play a big part when it comes to range as does how heavy the rider is. But I am very light - under 60kgs and still don’t get the claimed range Gazelle say of 96 miles. Plus where I live we don’t have that many hills and I stick to roads and shared paths. In the UK the legal ones are restricted to 250ws continuous power. We’re waiting for whether they will allow e-bikes of 500ws following a Govt. Consultation. But most bike associations are against it. Tbh it is not needed - and more protected cycling infrastructure is more important.
@@techtitanuk5609 well Toyota are bringing them for their cars by 2027. So hopefully they will license the tech for bikes. Also not planning to replace my bike for 10 years, if it lasts that long.
I've done long bike tours with acoustic bikes - longest was a 3-day 100mile ride in upstate New York. While it was a great experience, if I could do that trip again, I would definitely take an ebike. You would travel more lightly as you wouldnt need to carry so many supplies (had camping gear in case I had to sleep in a remote area). Most importantly, it would afford a level of comfort and peace of mind knowing I could cover twice the distance in the amount of time, without my legs feeling destroyed each night.
I recently acquired a switch kit for a hybrid bike and it has transformed my rides, you still have to put in the work but it is getting me further than I usually would ride. A big issue is the state of cycle paths and pavements I have to ride on being overgrown or like a ploughed field. To say the gov want you to be greener they don't seem to be making it too easy. Roads are no better plus there is the added danger from traffic that I had not experienced for a few years, everyone seems to be in.a massive hurry with no regard for anyone else on the road. Ellis you a great and whenever you post I have to watch your video.
Excellent ride. I only read of bad things about cycling in England but this video shows a totally different aspect. Despite not getting the claimed distance, what you achieved is still impressive.
That tow path round the back of Southcote Reading is dreadful. I used to cycle to work everyday via there but since all those horrendous potholes have turned up I have to go by the road now. Great video!
8.5 hrs is a big day. You did have a fair bit of gear on board too. I often wonder what on board weight these range numbers take into account? Awesome ride and that countryside and those canal paths look like bliss. 😍🤙
I`m so glad I live in a country that allows 45kph at roads, also that I built a tandem bike to ride 300km in a charge with my wife, and that we just go to the beach at 167km from home in the holidays and just skip all the traffic jam, go back home with 968m of elevation back and didn't even have to recharge, because I tested once, but we do charge just in case. And of course my 2 dogs love the trip too, that is what 9kwh battery does for me.
Gogoro electric scooters should make electric bikes as well. They already have the infrastructure for replacing depleted batteries in exchange for freshly charged ones. Kind of like a gas station for electric two wheelers.
ok the battery might be able but only under ideal conditions rider weight gear weight tire pressure terrain and hills are all factor's thanks for sharing a great ride you do owe dad...
Well done, Eilis, fantastic to watch you pushing your limits, especially the brave encounter with the cows. I think you have a similar view of heading out into the countryside as I do when biking in London. I am impressed that you explained your goal and how you so decorously discussed the fact that you didnt hit it. So delightfully British. I really enjoyed this video. Well done for no shorts, dont attract attention when you are out and about in strange places. Good ol' dad, though, he sounds a nice chap.
80 miles on a single charge in real world use is damn impressive. Not sure why the manufacturer felt compelled to make such a bold claim if it's not realistic. It feels to me like there needs to be a certification body that can verify ranges a consistent and scientific manner.
Not only that but if you plan a long trip only to be disappointed that you couldn't reach your destination because your battery died halfway there. These companies have no class.
Inspirational! Such beautiful bike paths. Makes me want to jump on my e-bike this minute. Living in the California Bay Area, your London / Bath accent is clear and just too cool. Stay safe.
I've made several ebikes from kits, I'm 64 still pretty fit, just love the places they take me and the adventures I have, really enjoyed your video, and your sense of adventure, well done 👍
Thanks for toughing it out. I probably would never try to do over 100 miles on my ebike and I supposedly could get 100 mile range on the lowest setting. I was thinking you might want to stay overnight someplace on the trip or camp. I've never put my battery to that test to see what I can get but using any of the other modes will definitely drain the battery faster, even if for a short bit.
I have 2 e-bikes and 3 bikes, I’m here follow this channel because of her. Is really cool to do 127 km in single e-bike ride. My best record is 78 km 😅
Another great video Ellis. Tip about charging new batteries. The max range won't kick in until between the 3rd to 5th full charge of any ebike battery.
I am not surprised, all these ebike distances are calculated on the basics that you use the lowest pedal assist on a flat surface all the way. To get a proper indication of the distance in a hilly country like Britain just divide the stated distance by two. Also, remember that as the battery ages it will not take you as far.
My ebike is rated as 500W Motor, 48V/12Ah Battery, 8 Speed, 80KM Range - I'm 110kg and commute as 26km round trip with a level path and a few moderate hills. IF I ever got 40km out of a charge that would be a big day! I think the testing is done on a flat possibly down hill path with a 12 yr old rider. I can't believe I fell for the marketing.
@@liamodonnell5931best thing I ever did with my ebike is get a 2nd battery. If I plan a long ride, I stick it in my rucksack. There is nothing more liberating than having no range anxiety.
@@liamodonnell5931same battery, motor setup as you. I’m 54 and weigh approximately 78kg. I have done 65km on a few occasions but do 40 on a regular basis and still have half the battery left, my wife has about a 1/4 left. This is with hills and avg speed of around 18km/h. It’s more about the rider than it is the battery
Hi Eilis, what a great day out and fantastic scenic tour for those of us that aren't located in England. The planned 200k was a really huge expectation. As an e-mtb rider of two years I could never anticipate anything like that sort of range, and I have never done 10+ hours in the saddle so congratulations to you. Maybe we might see some smaller scenic loops in your future???
The merida ebig tour 600 eq claims 100+ miles of mixed riding on a full charge. From the stats on the cycle computer, it says you can get 110 miles on the lowest setting but if I'm gona be honest you can barely feel the difference from the lowest setting and no motor assistance. 50 miles on lvl 2 and 37 miles on lvl 3. Lvl 3 is really fun though
Purchase a second battery to stow in the ample storage on this ebike. Range anxiety disappeared. Eilis, first time watching you from Texas. Texans don't bother to say "USA". Well done video show.
This is the first video, from this youtube chanel that I have watched. The video was far more interesting than some of the comments. I will be watching more, in the near future. Well done that lady!
Think when I cycled to Scotland way way back I made around 150 in a day. Now I have an ebike that can be a life safer as I now sometimes get a bad pain in my knee after about20 miles, so if this was to happen my bike would take be home without the need to cycle in a lot of pain. Well done on your long ride. 👍🚴♀️
The lady is beautiful, I had to watch the whole video again, informative learn about Hindsight glasses and now I’m watching the whole clip again because I was trying to find out what the name of the cycling app was for route planning! Respect to dad for saving the day! Great content you have a new subscriber!
Impressive! Getting THAT far on one charge. And to be able to keep going... After 4.5 years of use, the real range of my 500 Wh battery shrunk to about 80 km, down from 140. Tip: really don't leave the battery out in winter and don't kill flies with the battery (whacking them). 😂
As near as makes no difference 80 miles on a single charge ! That seems really impressive to me even if it less than they say. That omelette looked so good too. And now we know you can cycle 30 something miles in a random direction on an adventure before finding your way back.
You did well there. The most I've ever cycled was a 45 mile round trip, and when I got home, I just collapsed. That wasn't on an eBike, this was 15 years ago on a mountain bike.
Well this landed in my feed as I was pondering whether to get outta bed or not and I have to say, what a wonderful way to start the day. I did week long tours of Ireland some years ago on a standard MTB (2" tyres and no motors in those days), often doing 80-100 miles a day on coastal roads with a big HEAVY backpack (I was younger and fitter then) and those memories will live long in my mind... just beautiful and so rewarding. I recently had my roadbike stolen in a burglary and so have started to look at the electric or assisted bikes available. I have to say I find the majority of them UGLY AF (I'm a designer by trade so quite picky). The more aesthetically pleasing options are prohibitively expensive at the moment but prices will continue to fall. I guess I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this video, very envious of your little trip, I've not done anything similar for a while now.. Yeah, enjoyed it, you have a very pleasant energy and clearly enjoyed it. Best of luck to you.
I recommend that all European riders come to America to ride. You can start in Washington, DC (Georgetown), and go 296 kilometers on what was a towpath following the Potomac River. And another smaller trail of 72 kilometers, but you have to stop at several road crossings - some of which have walkway lights. Then, further up is what is known as the GAP to Pittsburg from the end of the C & O Canal (Cumberland, MD) of 248 kilometers. You will love it. Most importantly, you ride on the right side of the road!
Your rules & regs are different - we’re limited to 250 Watts and you have to turn the pedals, otherwise you get no power. Also your roads are straighter and probably smoother too.
Good job - that's further than I've ever ridden by a hefty margin. It must be a reasonably comfortable machine! It would be nice if e-bikes came with USB power too, as they have a massive battery and lights already - then your phone wouldn't go flat despite navving all day. BTW , cycling touring tip: you can usually fill your water bottle up at cemeteries, and cafes/pubs should give you free tap water too. i.e no need to add to the plastic bottle mountain just to get water.
I enjoyed travelling along with you. At 80 yrs I do not cycle any more but I can dream. I gave up serious cycling in 1996/97. I had constant punctures or failed inner tubes. I was down the local cycle shop ever couple of weeks to replace tubes. Eventually I gave up. Could you do a piece on these puncture resistant tyres - I would find that very interesting.
I’m also 80 but I ride my Ribble e-bike every day. I believe my bike will give me 70 miles, that is with the Range Extender. Im now thinking about buying another Range Extender which would probably give me 100 miles if I take it easy & switch off on the flat and downhill. But the saddle and handlebar suspension give me a nice comfortable ride.
As a ebikepacker this was interesting 🤔 good job. My bike is soooo heavy (home built) even with a 32a0hr battery i sqweek 270+ kms headwinds depending. Keep on keeping on ☮️🦘👍 great watch
Great video except for one thing: white text, especially on a white background! 11:10 (and earlier on the sky as a background). Yellow text with black outline is probably the best. Keep up the entertaining videos 😊
Thanks for sharing another charming video, always a pleasure. I find these false range claims really annoying, if a lightweight, fit person only reaches about half the claimed distance, the 160 miles are a bold lie.
Eilis you are a legend, I really enjoyed this adventure you went on. I think you should consider doing more of these in different locations. I did these routes when living in Reading 20 years ago, looks pretty much the same 😂
My experience with my ebike is I wish it was a little lighter. When I run out of juice and need to cycle the rest of the way, the extra weight of the bike destroys my legs. I end up walking my bike 😂
I bought an ebike on Amazon and the range claim is 100km with peddle assist 1 or 2. I do approximately 70km and I weigh 240 lbs. The company has helped me with minor parts and what-not in 3 years and are the best. This girl is not even overweight and couldn't manage more than 74 miles of the 150 miles claimed. These companies are so dishonest.
I bought a Cube Stereo Race full suspension e-bike with a 750 watt hour battery. I got 62 miles but also climbed 4,500 feet in that ride. If I sat in eco on canal paths I’d imagine it would do a 100 miles or more especially if you weigh less than me at 90Kg. Brilliant bike and currently reduced to £2,999. Well done on your journey I’m very impressed. You are so slight I think you could get 160 miles out of my bike. Why not try it ? ❤
Interestingly I watched and listened to you telling your beautiful adventure while riding in Dubai at 50c temp. Honestly, you were my company while riding 🚲 cheers you're awesome.
Cool journey the bike would do most people for the majority of their cycling journeys though with a bit of age related range loss and the odd hill maybe 60 miles would be a safe target.

Yeah, Eilis did the right thing, keep the head down, keep going and don't make any sudden moooooooves

Awesome! Then the company’s future is very bright! Thanks Key West Rick
Ahh Rick you are so kind, thank you!
But others commented he rides a real bike though, what do you say ??
Incredible work - what a feat!
You are a soldier young lady. BRILLIANT WELL DONE!
I wonder how many people watch this channel don't even own an bike or have any interest in one but still watch anyways.
i watch this channel shes fit girl i dont have bike yet but been thinking of buying one
I crunched some numbers. That battery has a capacity of 720wh (36v * 20ah). 720wh across 80 miles is 9wh/mile. That's actually pretty good!
She went 7 mph on average. If I went 7 mph then I could do the same on my much cheaper ebike.
I have same experience but different e bike Ado a20f, 36V + 10Ah
I get 40-50km on assist mode, bike is 30kg + I am 83kg
On just throttle mode, 10-15km.
I would say you get for each e-bike 1Ah = 4-5km on assist
and throttle 1Ah = 1-1.5km

Simple escooters with zero punctures and easy replaceable batteries, ie at petrol stations = superb idea.
I feel another award coming on! Absolutely amazing achievement - so many more people need to see this!! Well done you. X
Thank you!
I find it funny that your scared of leaving London whereas most people are scared of going to London 😮
Good old Dad, coming to rescue you. ❤
Awwe those red cheaks, very Petite Meller. 😁
congratulations btw 🎉
you really did well, battery range has been so exaggerated i was surprised you got that far, but it does seem to have great bicycle features.. thank you
Batteries do not struggle in the cold, they become more conductive at lower temps, therefore they lose part of the storage feature. Cold is electrons conductive delight
Good old Dad, a phone call ive had on many occasion. Well done you on your adventure. I am a long distance rider, im loving your spirit.
I love my electric bike ( decathlon riverside 500) which has got me back into biking after 40 years! It has a good range, especially in eco but I can see one day I’ll need a replacement, what a great review putting this one in my sights as a possible.
Thanks!!
Hitting dirt roads and singletrack is so much fun, best mental health boost you can get IMO, going on epic adventures.
Exactly this!
@@szolanek She went 7 mph on average. Sounds like she was in eco mode for most of it.
I struggled a lot with testing out which is the most eco, for cities are far from me, and the roads have ups and downs I struggled, because I had to pedal on straights (ain't easy), otherwise using 1st assist only, and from 5% up only a weak throttle help with heavy pedalling
I discovered years latter, by pure accident, that the real eco is 2nd gear (or medium) and fly.
@@colincampbell378 Cool, but you need a bike for that. Those I rode, can't take a 3% + elevation. Heavy and motor resistance in off position.
I will follow you just because of your honest review. Thank you
great stuff! I believe the only fair way to compare these bikes is to use full assist, ie no input from rider, same elevations etc.
Then a comparison can be made, otherwise it can be altered by the input from different riders,
lovely scenery, love the towpaths, perfect!
You are an ebike beast.
Absolutely awesome.
You made an ebike believer of me🍺
Are you for real the electric moped did it
@@Tarmaccyclocross No, the appeal comes from being able to ride it like a bicycle.
Excellent. Well done. Glad you had a good day
I bought an ebike back in 2015, it did about 15 miles on a charge, although I was going flat out unrestricted on it. So it's amazing to hear that you can go so far on one now
You've been misled by this ad. She only did 7 mph on average in this range test. I could probably have gone faster on a push bike.
@@dtz1000 you're right of course, I didn't read into the data

This young lady is the best reviewer of e bikes period.
A good reviewer would have mentioned that the average speed of this trip was only 7mph.
It's all about pushing your boundaries and don't you feel SO GOOD (emotionally) after it??
Absolutely, bikepacking is on my priority list.Thank for for taking the time to reply.🙂
You will wait a very, very long time for solid state batteries. Years away yet maybe never come
@@techtitanuk5609 well Toyota are bringing them for their cars by 2027.
Great journey, very brave of you, not knowing where you were going to end up... Safe travels.
Admittedly I haven't cycled much of England, but I hear there are many great cycleways available!
I have to say that I was a bit surprised tools and spare parts (inner tubes, perhaps a tyre) weren’t packed along for the journey.
Did you not listen to the beginning of the video? They are puncture resistant tyres
Nice test, rangetests are always fun.. more or less : ) But you have a very nice scenery for it so good choise to test it out!
Gogoro electric scooters should make electric bikes as well. They already have the infrastructure for replacing depleted batteries in exchange for freshly charged ones. Kind of like a gas station for electric two wheelers.
That sounds awesome, we'll look into them
ok the battery might be able but only under ideal conditions rider weight gear weight tire pressure terrain and hills are all factor's thanks for sharing a great ride you do owe dad...

Thank you for doing this test. I also enjoyed watching you attempt the 120 miles. Nice video
Really appreciate your post, thank you SO MUCH!
80 miles on a single charge in real world use is damn impressive. Not sure why the manufacturer felt compelled to make such a bold claim if it's not realistic. It feels to me like there needs to be a certification body that can verify ranges a consistent and scientific manner.
She was going an average of 7 mph.
Not only that but if you plan a long trip only to be disappointed that you couldn't reach your destination because your battery died halfway there. These companies have no class.
Thanks for bringing us along. Well done. Your dad's a good man.
Thank you - he is!

Thanks for watching and coming along for the journey
Is that so?? That's very interesting I'll have a look into this!
Well done, I'm planning a 30mile trip on my e-bike and I thought that was a long distance! Would love to try what you have done!

Absolutely!

Glad you enjoyed it! Look forward to having you around

Awesome video, amazing ride, loved it
As near as makes no difference 80 miles on a single charge ! That seems really impressive to me even if it less than they say. That omelette looked so good too.
And now we know you can cycle 30 something miles in a random direction on an adventure before finding your way back.
Outstanding effort! Amazed you made it that far with just a 19Ah battery.
Well done and good old dad. You are the Norally of e-bikes. Norally is an adventure motorcycle rider ‘Itchy Boots’.
It's impossible to not like her!
Well done for getting as far as you did 👍
Well done. To try is to succeed. 😊
Thank you ☺
You did well there.
That is awesome to cross the distance on bike. The furthest ive ever done was about 35 miles as a child😊
My bike
is soooo heavy (home built) even with a 32a0hr battery i sqweek 270+ kms headwinds depending.
Love your videos. Wow, that's a awesome day trip to do!
Great fun to watch, Eilish.
Eilis you are a legend, I really enjoyed this adventure you went on. I think you should consider doing more of these in different locations. I did these routes when living in Reading 20 years ago, looks pretty much the same 😂
Well done you did well, its still heavy to lug that distance. Batteries sometimes need a few charge cycles before a true assessment can be made
My experience with my ebike is I wish it was a little lighter. When I run out of juice and need to cycle the rest of the way, the extra weight of the bike destroys my legs. I end up walking my bike 😂
Ado belt drive rides real easy without pedal assist
How brave you were to pass so closely through cow territory without showing fear!
Aw that’s awesome 😁
Cool journey the bike would do most people for the majority of their cycling journeys though with a bit of age related range loss and the odd hill maybe 60 miles would be a safe target.
