    In my area, the Titanium Hybrid lists for $36k and are selling for around $32k. The RAV4 XSE lists for $38k and is selling for $37k. The price difference is significant...

    Bought my SE Sport Hybrid in December 2019; so, am coming up on three months of driving it.
    Love your POV review; two guys just talking cars-and I agree with everything you said.
    I test-drove an SE, an SEL, and both the SE and Titanium hybrids. The SE hit the sweet spot for me: price, cargo space, and mpg.
    I must look for your RAV-4 Hybrid review.

    I'm disappointed that for 2021, Ford changed the Power Meter to remove the numbers above the battery and engine logos. You two obviously haven't researched the longevity of the Ford hybrids. Plenty of 200K+ mile Ford hybrids out there. It feels like you also miss the point of a plug-in hybrid. Most people drive 10-15 miles each way to work. With around 25-30-ish miles of electric only range, most people will be able to drive their daily commute without the gas engine ever running. For those with long commutes, a full EV would make more sense.
    I test drove the RAV4 Limited hybrid before purchasing my 2021 Escape Titanium hybrid. The RAV4 felt more planted and heavy and the additional torque was noticeable, but the cons were the 4-star driver crash rating, the instrument cluster, the infotainment, the driving position (felt like sitting on the floor), lack of passenger seat adjustability, and $4K-$5K price premium made the Escape a much better buy for me.

    You drove by the Rawsonville Ford plant where they build all the hybrid and EV batteries for Ford. Ironic but cool!

      @@musill7776 You should do more research on Ford hybrids. There are so many 200K+ mile Ford hybrids still on the road. That's why so many taxi companies use them for their fleets. Ford deserves a lot of criticism over their EcoBoost powertrains and the horrible SelectShift transmissions, but Ford's hybrids are impressive.

    'Useful review (along with the other two) of the new Escape Hybrid. More down-to-Earth than a lot of the other channels with annoying motor-mouths spewing nonsense or infinite facts and specifications of little practical value. I do wonder about the excessive noise produced by this Escape while accelerating briskly - could it be the microphone or its placement? I'll have to test-drive one, myself.

  • @NickMcC

    Ironic that they predicted reliability out of the Rav4. Had to get rid of my 2020 XSE after it stranded me multiple times and Toyota started ghosting me on trying to figure out why.

    You guys had the best review of The Escape Hybrid all-wheel drive that I seen yet you actually went on a muddy Road unlike all the other reviews I've seen the only thing I'd like to see done better is taking it actually off road up a hill down a muddy Hill up a rock-filled hill true off-road environment as far as the features of this vehicle why is there no upshift and downshift of the CVT on the Escape that you do see on the RAV4 hybrid and the CR-V hybrid and is Ford able to make this escape in an off road model , and NO I WILL NOT BUY the bronco sport , there is NO PANORAMIC SUNROOF AND NO STORAGE in that vehicle , thanks for this review of this escape 4wd hybrid .

  • @MrFoxfire510
    @MrFoxfire510 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My concern is the reliability. Transmission, hybrid battery, electronics inside, motor, the placement of parts. Heard the 1.5 liter turbo ford engine has the water pump close to the timing chain and has potential to have coolant leak into the engine oil (really). That is my main hesitation from switching over from a toyota/lexus to Ford. But the new Ford Maverick Hybrid looks so appealing I want to give it a chance. But then I fear the worst.

  • @langlebl
    @langlebl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The engine sounds kind of loud at idle. Maybe your mic is just sensitive, but I think I'm hearing an unrefined humming sound.

    • @bourbon.36
      @bourbon.36 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think automakers are being required to have vehicles make some sort of noise when in electric mode at idle speeds to warn of it's presense if that makes sense. Tesla now does this as well, although it's not the humming kind of sound. Don't quote me on that, but that is my understanding and may be why we are hearing that.

  • @matthewsteffen9788
    @matthewsteffen9788 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So question. It’s a hybrid so it just runs on regular gasoline? You don’t have to charge the battery at all?

    • @macmichaelhenson-rogers9850
      @macmichaelhenson-rogers9850 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew Steffen Correct. They use the gas engine and regenerative braking to recharge the battery as needed. They are a great stop-gap to plug-in hybrids and full electric.
