I almost cried when I saw how a 20 min tutorial started disassembling the whole thing and messing with wiring - thank goodness we can cut the bar! You saved my day lol
Removing that bar is absolute genius!! I’m soooo grateful - as an autistic person I use my headphones to deal with sensory overload and this easy, albeit fiddly, fix was such a massive help to me, so thank you!!!
the part of removing that unneeded bridge from the hinge replacement was smart. It saved a lot of work. I was able to replace the left hinge metal in 5 min. Easy but tricky
Kit from amazon had a small bar across... couldn't fine wire cutters so I grabbed pliers and when I clamped down the skinny bar broke off easily. This was a great tip to remove so we don't have to do more work feeding wires through it. Super easy. Thank you!
Great tip to cut the bridge and job made very easy. I used a small clipper to get the metal piece off an slide this over and finished in 15 mins. Really appreciate this video and tip. The long way to get this done was not feasible. I checked with couple of techs and no one wanted to do this work of removing the earpiece and complex wires/soldering to replace the hinge.
Thanks for the video, a lot more straightforward than other methods. However, your video makes it look a LOT easier than it actually is lol, took me like an hour to clip on the hinge.
Why are all these other videos telling you to remove the speaker, remove wires etc..when you are able to do what you just did..I'm going to order this and hopefully fix the hinge..thanks for the tutorial
I’m probably a bit too late, but how in the heck do you push the actual hinge in? It’s very tough and everytime I try to do so, one ends up out and it’s hard to push that one it.
i see different options here www.amazon.com/s?k=beats+solo+studio+3+hinge+replacement+parts&i=electronics&ref=nb_sb_noss but cannot guarantee what does or doesn't work since i never tried those actual products.
I think Beats' headphones have weak hinges. Beats' engineers need to improve the hinge. I picked up Beat's Studio 3 that someone threw away. Like a video clip, the hinge is broken and the pad is worn out. You can get a new studio 3 for $22 excluding shipping costs. It's my first time replacing a hinge. Is it hard?
it took a couple mins to figure it out and then once i did i made the video. i can't remember now seeing i did this in 2020. i just know patience was involved. sorry i can't be of more help. i hope you've had some success by now!
Doesn’t work for mine . For me this video is not clear at all. Couldn’t see anything and bad description. Mine has a wire that must be unsoldered and re-soldered. It appears you can’t just snap them in the replacement ones I have are metal so there is no cutting anything to slide a wire through… you say just cut the bar out but if you cut the bar out, there’s nothing to screw it onto the beats. I do not understand your explanation at all. Maybe you could make it a little bit more understanding?
Can i take a old one of a other pair Studios? Kann ich auch das Teil von einem anderen Paar Beats Studios nehmen? Und wenn ja,ist es leicht auszubauen? #thanks & Grüße aus ✌👀🇩🇪
Can you please do another video that show us how to fold them up so that they fit back into the case? You did it so fast at the end that I can’t tell what you did. Is there some trick to getting them to fold?
Beats studio 3 have very very poor build quality. Bought a Bose 700 headset, and after 1.5 years it still works good. I use it every workday, almost the whole day
I’m thinking about selling them and getting Bose or Sony. They’re so much better and the sound and build quality is much greater than beats for the price.
@@da_BooBoo2 It's alright, I figured it out😅 So thanks for the video still lol I found that when you Extend/Shorten the headphones, it moves that rubber piece in the middle that holds the wires. So if you keep it open and fix it the close it, it could look lile the wire is hanging out. Best to not extend the headphones when fixing it I 😅guess
Mine is like that but there it will not work if I charge it will say it hasn't been charged when I press the button and the is no sound is there a way to fix that I feel like there isn't 😭😭
Fuck , I been at this for a hour and am having a hard time seeing what your doing with the little piece that goes in the hinge whats that piece even do ? and the video is pixilated so its hard to see .. Im replacing the band too soo all I have is the brown cable connecting each side so im trying to add the hinge first to the ear piece sides then install the new head band

good to hear :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣 same here
me too, I almost consider to buy a new headphone
Oh I saw that video as well. Completely unacceptable. Thank you for putting this video out
I saw that 24 minute video I was like no way I am doing this. Thanks for the video!

Agree, this repair doesn't apply for the brackets I received.. Any info here?
Thank you! Worked perfectly and saved me £196 repair cost via A shop. Really happy 👍🏼

Worked like a charm on my broken Beats - thanks for the tutorial!
Awesome, just fixed mine in 15 minutes. My headband was broken as well but that just in snaps and snaps back on. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video. You literally saved me from spending money on new headphones.
hell yea! im glad i could help!
GREAT TUTORIAL. You are genius. Keep up the good work and enlighten the world
Thanks for the video, a lot more straightforward than other methods. However, your video makes it look a LOT easier than it actually is lol, took me like an hour to clip on the hinge.
The first time I did it it took me a bit too. But then I practiced a few times for the video. I’m glad it helped and you got yours to work!
Thank you for this much easier tutorial. Im waiting on the replacement parts but I'll surely be back to your video when im ready to fix them.
Why are all these other videos telling you to remove the speaker, remove wires etc..when you are able to do what you just did..I'm going to order this and hopefully fix the hinge..thanks for the tutorial
I agree. I thought the same thing. You gotta just rig it. I did this a year ago and mine are still good!
I don't understand that either. Everyone is literally tearing the entire earphone down to replace a damn hinge
how do you fit the hinge in when theres 2 metal things sticking out on either side? it doesnt fit :/
I’m probably a bit too late, but how in the heck do you push the actual hinge in? It’s very tough and everytime I try to do so, one ends up out and it’s hard to push that one it.
You are so clever Thankyou soooo much it worked!!! 🎉
Will this also work for Beats Solo 3? I have a broken hinge on a pair of Beats Solo 3 headphones.
The trick of clipping out the metal piece is ingenious. Thank you!
(But the video quality is really bad - you can't see the important parts properly)
You are literally a life saver, I'm subscribing and sharing this video
awesome! I’m glad I could help!
hey my hinge is intact but the screws came out so it’s fell out of the headrest. where can i get replacement screws of those kind? thank you so much

those are for 2.0 just make sure theyll work with your beats or search amazon for the ones that will
Thank you so much!! That saved me sooo much time!😅
Question: I am not able to fold my beats after I done the thing w the wire cutters. it pops out. Anyone can help?
Seems nice but it says it’s the product is unavailable is there any alternative way to fix it

Good thing I saw this video and it help me a lot, thank you so much!!! You're a life saver.
but doesn't the bridge keep the structural integrity of the headband or nah? how are the headphones doing present day?
they're still in good shape. probably has some integrity but doesn't matter much
legend thank you so much for your video - same as everyone else you made my job simple - you're awesome!
So the black piece on the bottom of the hinge I take out?? And if so what can I use beside a wire cutter cause i dont have that
I think Beats' headphones have weak hinges.

I picked up Beat's Studio 3 that someone threw away.

this is so smart! can this work on beats solo 2/3?
I’m not sure. I only have these beats .. if they’re a similar make I’m assuming yes?
Thank you for the video! Didnt want to buy another pair since mine are Limited Edition. It was easy peasy!
How do you get on after cutting the bar I see everyone is having trouble

Here’s a good tip, if you can’t find anything to cut the little bar, try some good nail clippers, trust me they work! 😂
Good tips, but do you have any tips to place the hinge? I’ve trying for an hour and I still can’t
Did you get it ?
@@da_BooBoo2 yep, now I have to repair another part, but at least the hinges are fixed now
Sick video btw

I just need to adjust my pins in my headphones when I bought them one side was tight and the other side was lose.
This is genius
Only the best ☺️
I’m so confused on what you cut

Were you able to fold them up? I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a trick. I just folded them up.
Is there a peace for solo 3?
Thank you so much for that video. 👍👍👍
you’re welcome! i hope it helped!
🔥🔥🔥thanks bro
you’re welcome ☺️
is there any other places to get the kit?
thank you🎉
Another success!! You’re welcome ☺️
Hey I removed the screws but it s not coming off
any suggestions?
did you ever get it off? sorry for the late response. i only did this once and it was awhile ago.
I think I stripped my can screws on the hinge. I got my kit from Amazon and the screw driver that came with it isn't turning the screws. Advice?
I’m not sure how to loosen stripped screws

Dude wow
One of the wires in the ear cup is loose should I fix it
I’m assuming that wire will have to be soldered for the headphone to work properly
@@da_BooBoo2 my bad I meant the wire under the folding mechanism
