    Low key and awesome video Ryan. Was actually parked at a public charger the other day and speaking with a model 3 owner. He was new and asked what type of things I kept in the dock. Told him I had a winter setup and summer one too. He was only made aware he could change and add features in the dock a few days before.

    • @RyanCowan
      @RyanCowan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Ross ! Appreciate it mate. Good idea to have a winter and summer setup ! I'd say a lot of new owners probs don't realise the level of customisation you can do just on your driver profile-it's pretty awesome. Out of interest, do u have your steering set to standard?

    • @Truthfulnerd
      @Truthfulnerd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RyanCowan now this is funny, but I had my steering set to sport. And while pulling out of the carpark today, I put it on standard and instantly noticed the difference. Comfort is next. But sport felt so direct with the steering.

      It's pretty amazing! I kinda went overboard with the purchasing of aftermarket accessories 😅 also PPF'd my front (after having watched your vids) and tinted the windows. Still trying to figure out all the settings and working my way through the manual

    From what I know legally car manufacturers have to have speedometer showing higher speed than actual gps speed (generally the tolerance is about 5% but could vary from manufacturer to manufacturer). And I certainly prefer that. Since I don’t own a Tesla I haven’t had the chance to test this but can be easily done downloading an app on the mobile that can show the actual speed and then check the same what your Tesla is showing.

    • @Hacker07Gaming
      @Hacker07Gaming ปีที่แล้ว

      Does that only apply to counties outside the US? I compared it on my cars and the GPS speed shows the same

    • @himanshu.dhamankar
      @himanshu.dhamankar ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hacker07Gaming interesting. I thought it is a general rule and US wouldn’t be an exception.

    Hey Ryan,
    Great video as always.
    You mentioned that you charge your Model Y to 100% every time, which makes sense as it has an LFP battery. What do you recommend for a Model Y Performance? Tesla said up to 90%, but I have heard some say only up to 80%. I would like to get your thoughts.

    • @RyanCowan
      @RyanCowan  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching mate, I would set it to 80% and obviously go beyond that for road trips when you need. The in car charging screen and app should recommend 80% (not 90%) as far as I remember. Congrats on getting the MYP though, such an amazing car ! Hope you're loving it

    • @thopham13
      @thopham13 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RyanCowan just on that question, do you keep it charged at 100% every night? Or just charge every few days when it gets low enough (like filling a petrol tank)

    • @pyt
      @pyt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thopham13 depends on your usage. I charge to full once every week at a public charger near work. No home charging or fast charging unless necessary for long trips.

    Great video. Google maps on your phone shows GPS based actual speed. Pretty sure mine 98 @ 100, so +3.
    Need to watch when max is somehow over limit. Ie still at 80 when getting into a 60 zone is dangerous 😳

      Thanks mate ! Hard to answer this, but we recently drove 300kms without stopping to charge at highway speeds and arrived with 20% battery. So seems to be about 400kms.

    • @danishrover6984
      @danishrover6984 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here in flat Denmark as the temps are around 20celcius, we get about 380km range with mostly motorway 110-130km/h and around 475 if we drive 50-80km/h. All in chill mode. We go between 84wh and 170wh with and avg of approx 131wh. I am told in winter it will half the distance but haven't tried it yet as the car is fairly new. We have the standard Model Y rwd with lfp battery.

    16 Amps for charging? A standard wall outlet is a maximum of 10 Amps. Don't burn the house down!

    I believe every car sets the speed lower than it is actually. But yes I have felt the Hondas and Mazdas play it a lot safer. I have found my 2017 Honda Civic displays 108 but its actually 100. But I think Teslas is a lot more closer. Dont have any solid evidence to back it up sorry
