Hey Chris - I have a 2023 M3 and I thought Tesla said to keep it at 90% or so for your daily commute, and to charge up to 100% at least once a week. I’ve found the battery percentage tips to be confusing - Tesla’s own website contradicts itself. Do you have any info on what new 2023 M3 cars should be at?

Chris, I've got a useful tip to share for anyone who wants to listen to their own music via USB. Since USB isn't listed on the music source menu under the sound menu, it is always losing its place and you have to start it all over again, because the USB ports are de-energized when the car is in deep sleep, like anytime you park without Sentry Mode enabled. It can be real frustrating. Here's an easy fix. Next time you enter the car after it has been sleeping, just wait until you see the USB icon display on the bottom of your screen (should only take a couple of seconds), then press the right steering wheel button and issue the voice command "USB". That's it! Your music will start playing again, right where it left off the last time you were listening.
@@EverydayChris Thanks! Not as good as having USB as a default music source (which I hope Tesla will provide, someday), but MUCH better than having to manually select USB again on the screen, having to press to start another song, etc.
@@EverydayChris Sure, Chris. And just for kicks, I tried just saying "USB" again, and it works, again? Not sure why it stopped - or started up again, but anyone interested should try one of those commands and it should work.

hi Chris, do you recommend to get a keyfob? using the phone as key, I would have to make sure the phone is all charged, and have battery when I try to get in the car.
I just keep my key card in my in my money clip with my license and credit cards. If my phone is dead or for some reason not connecting to the car (rare, but it does happen) I use the key card. I had to use the key card almost exclusively for the first few months of owning the car as my older phone would regularly fail to connect to the car as a key; this was solved when I replaced my phone. I don't think I'd use a fob; it's one more thing to grab every time I leave the house. With the overall reliability of my phone connection and the card as a seemingly bulletproof backup (and having wireless charging in the car for my phone increasing the odds my phone will be sufficiently charged throughout the day) I see the fob as a solution in search of a problem. Others will certainly have specific reasons the fob is a good solution for them.

I have been waiting for this car since 1996 when our company, an electric utility, had a Ford Probe (55 mile range) and a Toyota RAV4 (58 mile range). Tesla is doing it! Love your videos! Go Chris!!!
Hm... I just opened the apps and I dont get the option of Live Camera, is this new NEW feature? do you think it's also available on Model3 RWD or only on longrange or high performance above them?

Hey my 1 month old model Y has an issue, that is. The FSD stopped works. When I am in D gear the small car in the touchscreen don't turn around, not showing street, light and anyghing. the small car keep showing like I am parking. The cruise/autopilot/autopark is also not working. Also the summon button in the app keep showing "warming up"....I am sure my cameras are clear and the weather is warm, car has no damages. Do you have any idea?
Yo big Mike, I dig your videos!! Nice headrests but the bulky “buckle’ style strap takes away from the quality look. A Velcro or sleeker buckle design will blend better with the quality look …😎
As a note 2022 Model 3 RWD with the LFP battery (the battery meter will show 50% and 100% instead of day and trip) the battery like being charged to 100% daily.
I've had my long range Model 3 for over 4 years. Overall, it's a great car! But, what killed it for me is that it really doesn't travel well. In town - great! Cross country - super sucky! Charging is a BAD experience! Range is about 25% less than claimed (mine is a long range that never got "long range)! So my new setting is gasoline! I'm trading it in and going back to gas! I still have a deposit on the Cybertruck if it ever comes out! We'll see? Again, as an in-town commuter car, nothing is better! Nothing! But again, it sucks to travel in one!
Hey Chris, thanks for a great detailed run through of first time setup and other tips. One thing I'll be playing around with once I get the MYLR is what apps to put on the dock. It would be helpful if you could do a quick rundown of how that all works. Besides the 4 (or 5?) apps you can put there, doesn't V11 also show a couple of the most recently used apps? Cheers and see you next time.
Great tips but I have one problem. I can’t see the front of the car. Am I the only person that has a problem pulling in straight to a parking place? Why is there no front camera? Auto parking is great but it requires rear parking all the time.
I wish.. you can’t see the front facing camera and there isn’t one near the bumper. All I do is use the side cameras to help me make sure im in the parking lines
@@EverydayChris New Tesla owner here. I learned there is a problem with Tesla "dashcams" and this is a bug that is being worked on now. I experienced the lack of front camera while parking yesterday. So much to learn!
Thank you for your tips. At least for me you cover an tip so quickly and the move on to next tip it is difficult to assimilate the tips. I know you want to cover as much as possible but generally people learn things best when they hear it more than one time. Also at least on the phone it is impossible to see the items you are showing on the Tesla screen so that makes following your tips more challenging Thanks

I had my Model Y in creep mode a couple days until I got used to the accelerator pedal then put it into hold mode. I did not want to push the pedal too hard in the garage so I let the creep mode roll the car to the correct point. I set my speed limit warning at 4 MPH so if I'm 5 MPH over the limit it bongs. I like to set that off when I go by a marijuana dispensary. BONG.
Awesome video! Thank you for doing this for all the newbs! And for us old guys who still don’t know it all, lol. I did notice at 9:13 but n the video you stated that when you use Scheduled Charging that you cannot set a time for your car to precondition… this is False. I have my 2021 LR M3 set to start charging at 11:15pm (cause I get a super off peak rate 11pm-6am) and I also have it set to precondition at 8:15 Weekdays Only. It’s been working this way like a champ foe over a year now.
Hi, quick question. If you set the precondition at 8:15 car start pre-condition only at 8:15 AM/PM or it starts preconditioning let's say at 8.00 and finish by 8.15? I can be wrong. Just checking..
@@anilkumar1971 it will start about 30 minutes prior so that the battery is nice and warm and ready to go. The cabin only takes about 5 minutes or less to warm up so it’ll be nice and toasty for ya much sooner than the battery. So in the case of 8:15, it’ll probably start to precondition around 7:45.
Another great video brother !!! Always something new to learn, also got a kick out of seeing familiar spots - Wokcano, Sidecar :) Not sure if this has been asked or answered but have found that my phone just disconnects (has happened twice now) and I have to forget / pair the phone for it to work. went with performance mode, hold mode, etc. on day 1. So much fun!
Haha awesome!
Everything about Tesla is crazy! The battery life, the tail lights, the interior etc. Tesla stocks is the best of them all! I have always hoped to invest in Tesla stocks one day but the thought of doing so without enough knowledge of the stocks market makes the whole thing less attractive to me. One cannot afford to lose any money in this pandemic era
@Jooste Constance Rebecca True! I made this mistake some years back. I was sure I had learnt the DIY ropes, invested all by myself and lost thousands of dollars. It was the saddest year for my journey to FI but after much persuasion from a relative, I decided to give stocks a try again. This time, with the help of an investment broker I came across in a cnbc interview. Made $245,000 in profit within few months of investing and recovered my losses

Hi can you help me how to charger 12v li-ion battry for tesla y 2022
That’s tough since it’s not like the regular batteries. Why do you need to charge it? The car usually charges it automatically
Hello bro I bought new model 3 , how to do setting for speed limit offset for normal driving ? Autopilot setting shown by you also applies during non-autopilot ? I mean I’m not suing autopilot and want to know a notification when I drive more than 10% speed limit ( I got a speeding ticket as I didn’t realized it 25mph zone and I was driving at 40mph) , some notifications will avoid this issue , can u guide me setting for this ?
Yes make sure offset is at zero so it uses the speed signs so it’s at the actual speed limit.
I am wondering if there is a setting to creep in reverse only.
Lol that would be nice
Hi thank you for your tips . As a new driver I wanted to ask you coming from a normal car and start a Tesla y . U mentioned drove muse should by creep instead of hold and chill mode . So what’s about standard mode and hold what’s the difference , next about charging my work drove is 36 miles one way so what do you recommend for charging . Thank you 😊 please reply I’ll be getting my tesla delivered after thanksgiving
Hold is the best way! Makes it so the car will stop without touching the brake. Don’t need to charge everyday so get to 30-40 and charge to 80
@@EverydayChris hi so the way I understand you mean charge to 80% every other day correct ?
Set it to 80. But don’t charge it everyday so the battery has time to reset and recalibrate
Thanks for your message. Appreciate it. One part request can I ask Tesla to put on Michelins when I go pick up if they can swap it out or no
Sorry I don’t think they will
Great vid Chris! How do you set home?
Input the address and you’ll see a star and you should be able to favorite it. You can also do it easily if you’ve never set home before! Should be in the video!
My husband has the Tesla App set up and he has the key cards linked to his phone. I’m wondering if he’s able to listen to all my conversations when I’m in the car ?
Yes. Everything. I’m jk no he can’t
so I can't find it anywhere but being 6ft did you hit your head on trunk? We aren't that tall but for whatever reason when we open the trunk it doesn't extend high enough so we have to push it the rest of the way. Is there a way to learn it or is this a service request 😂
Yeah happens. Try the highest manual setting hold the trunk open button till it dings. Mine goes up and goes down, they changed the hinges and it still does it haha so don’t waste your time
I've been driving M3 for less than a week & hit my head 3 times leaning into front seat...one day I will learn.
I just recently purchase a Tesla in Germany and I had a horrible experience with their sales team, how do I escalate a complaint/concern? Any recommendations?
Wow not sure! Sales advisor??
Love your content man. Just picked up my model 3 yesterday, and you’ve definitely been my teaching force! Appreciate you
Thank you! Will push out more videos to help people like you
Does your autopilot buddy work well? I had one just like it and it did not work at all on my first Y. If so, provide link to it. I'd like to see it.
It’s on and off now. Works ok. I used the basenor one but it’s been sold out forever!
Spectacular job Chris! I really like your speed and conciseness. Your video is like reading 200 pages in 15 minutes. Great explanations! I picked up my Y 1 week ago. Here is FL, the heat is on. I live in a condo, park in a lot. I noticed that my cabin temp. rose to 135F yesterday and the overheat protection was on. I vented the window also to help drop the temp. I have been waiting for this car since 1996 when our company, an electric utility, had a Ford Probe (55 mile range) and a Toyota RAV4 (58 mile range). Tesla is doing it! Love your videos! Go Chris!!!
Awesome. Thank you!
Thanks for the vid, but quick question. How often should a Tesla charge at 100%?
Whenever you need. Road trips or if no charging is available. On our week long road trip I charged to 100 like 5 times?
Hey Chris, where did you take the hexagonal on your wall :P ? Thanks and good video by the way !
howdy Its in the description I think! I got the white and grey ones amzn.to/3HRKjp5
Hm... I just opened the apps and I dont get the option of Live Camera, is this new NEW feature? do you think it's also available on Model3 RWD or only on longrange or high performance above them?
Make sure it’s enabled under security in the car first!
@@EverydayChris im in australia and 2022 tesla Model 3 RWD. I dont see the same settings under safety, I think it is limited to certain model only.
How can a person who purchases a used Tesla get access to the previous service record from the previous owner?
Ask them? Not sure maybe ask service center to look up vin
I need some help there is this Wi-Fi issue. It says unable to obtain up address. Please check DCHP (something like that) server settings.
Could be a nat issue with the router. Make sure to there are no security settings that controls mac addresses!
Hey Chris, I live in OC too. Can you tell me where you got your windows tinted and your car wrapped? There are so many places to choose from. I appreciate it!
Hello! I did a video on it but I used xtreme edge auto for the wrap and for the tint I used 2b1 tint! Good prices and they did a great job! Thanks for watching!

@@EverydayChris How cool, was just about to ask that, I live in the LB area, so definitely will be taking my MYP for a quote, thanks Chris👍🏽
I accidentally deleted my spotify app on Tesla Y, How can I re install it on the main screen
You cant delete apps. You may have hidden them. there should be 3 bars on the lower right on your music menu. from there you can select and deselect things like caroke, spotify, tidal, etc
how do you turn off the passenger side air when you’re driving by yourself?? both are on at the same time and i tried holding down on that side but it won’t turn it off…
It wont turn off unless you get into the car for the first time and only sit in the passenger
I see you charge by the Tustin Market place 😉. Should be getting my Model 3 Performance this month!
the view cameras from mobile app isn't an option on my Model Y. Does anyone know why it doesn't show up?
Enable it on the Tesla screen first
@@EverydayChris that’s the issue… it won’t show up on the screen under the safety tab
2 button reset?? Service recalibrate cameras?
@@EverydayChris it works now. By the way, do you get FSD Beta pushed to you?
I have it but not the newest relwase
Yo big Mike, I dig your videos!! Nice headrests but the bulky “buckle’ style strap takes away from the quality look. A Velcro or sleeker buckle design will blend better with the quality look …😎
This is so helpful! I recently got my model y. Thank you.
Great video. I sent it to my wife. 22 P Model Y FSD
Yay thank you real talk
Wonderful information. Thank you buddy.
This video could be used and a Tesla sales pitch… I would love to buy one of these machine. Thanks for sharing too.
haha thanks!
As a note 2022 Model 3 RWD with the LFP battery (the battery meter will show 50% and 100% instead of day and trip) the battery like being charged to 100% daily.
So cool with those lfp batteries
New subscriber. Great channel. Question, do you have a video that shows how you mounted and hard wired your radar detector? Thx
Thanks for the tips Chris.
Thanks for watching!
Good info! Love the dog mode :)
Nice
Tustin marketplace!
Great info Chris. Thanks!
Thank yoU!
on my delivery date next month , ima have to skip the chill mode and go fast 💨 haha
Good man

Hey Chris, thanks for a great detailed run through of first time setup and other tips. One thing I'll be playing around with once I get the MYLR is what apps to put on the dock. It would be helpful if you could do a quick rundown of how that all works. Besides the 4 (or 5?) apps you can put there, doesn't V11 also show a couple of the most recently used apps? Cheers and see you next time.
Will do! Irs all personal preference but I love the music, showing all cameras, and dash cam button for sure
@@EverydayChris what's your favorite driving mode? creep? hold?
Hold all the way
@@EverydayChris Is there a difference in seat comfort between Y, S and X? I'm assuming S and X are more luxurious with real leather, correct?

Thanks my man!
Where can I check the time where charging is the cheapest for me?
Look online at your utility provider
Great video, it really helped me get oriented with the vehicle!!
Awesome!
Great tips but I have one problem. I can’t see the front of the car. Am I the only person that has a problem pulling in straight to a parking place? Why is there no front camera? Auto parking is great but it requires rear parking all the time.
Tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen. That should make front camera pop up. If not, you need a repair done (service).
I wish.. you can’t see the front facing camera and there isn’t one near the bumper. All I do is use the side cameras to help me make sure im in the parking lines
@@EverydayChris New Tesla owner here. I learned there is a problem with Tesla "dashcams" and this is a bug that is being worked on now. I experienced the lack of front camera while parking yesterday. So much to learn!
Hmm I’ve been suddenly having issues with the dash cam not being able to read the hard drive. I format it and it works but comes back again
You can save Dashcam footage just by pressing the Dashcam Icon.
Awesome we video
Thank you so much
I’m picking my model y tomorrow
Can’t wait.
Woohoo
I thought Tesla recommended charging to 100% with the newer models?
Not newer models but more so the type of battery !
Thank you for your tips. At least for me you cover an tip so quickly and the move on to next tip it is difficult to assimilate the tips. I know you want to cover as much as possible but generally people learn things best when they hear it more than one time. Also at least on the phone it is impossible to see the items you are showing on the Tesla screen so that makes following your tips more challenging
Thanks
Hmm I’m gonna do an updated one especially with new holiday update coming up
If you need to hear a tip more than once just rewind video 10 seconds as many times as you want. Or pause for screen shot. Otherwise, his videos will be half an hour long. No thx. Chris your tips and the pace is perfect 👍
Y coming in June so video is super helpful. Of course I can’t wait.
BONG.
helllll yeahh. make sure to watch my videos while you're high on your own supply
@@EverydayChris I don't imbibe. i'm just strange because I grew up in the 60's.
Oh nice! Didn’t see that!
If you are free you can check our fantastic deals on our ebay listing for Tesla Accessories.

My wife and I both have phone keys. Never happened on her phone yet. And no - I hadn't killed the app on my iPhone either. It's always running in the background. Any insight would be appreciated. Heading out to change some settings now :) Thanks
Thank you! Try a hard reset first. The unpair, delete the model y on Bluetooth in the phone and repair. Make sure the phone is up tod ate as well!
This was happening to me and like Chris mentioned, deleting the car from the app and re-pairing solved it for me.
I had to do a reset on the Tesla display to get the phone to pair one time. The car is a computer and needs to be treated that way occasionally.
Great video - keep it up!👍🏾
Thank you! Will do!
Your instructions and video is so fast
I have another one coming today!

I thought with the new battery you don’t have to worry about not charging to 100%
its the china LFP batteries that have lower range but are supposed to be charged to 100. Not very common yet everywhere else
idk my electricity is constant rate of 0.12 c per kw.
