    Ryan, I see this video is over 4 months old, so not sure if you’ll see this comment, but just in case you do, I have a comment about something you mention in this video. You spoke about how hard adjusting the climate controls is. Well, I just finished watching another channel where the guy gave 18 voice commands to control your Tesla. One of them was using voice control to not only open the climate control screen, but also to control turning on the AC/Heat, aiming the vents, fan speed, turning on/off AC for the passenger… that channel showed how so much that owners do by going to the screen can actually be accomplished through voice control.

    • @aaronoshea3453

      I second this. I always use voice command for climate control and it works really well.

      Voice commands were the SECRET to getting my Wife comfortable with Model Y controls.....she really loves just pressing a single button and saying a command. I have now started to use it much more in my Model S.

    After 9 months I found I could turn on side cameras in reverse by putting the Tesla in reverse and sliding up in the dark area below the reverse camera. It is saved in the profiles.

  • @TheDannyHamilton
    @TheDannyHamilton ปีที่แล้ว +9

    No need to hit SAVE multiple times when setting up your profile. Just set your seat, other preferences, and then mirrors and steering wheel. Then hit SAVE just once after all of it is set up. It'll save all the settings at once.

    I think a lot of people don’t know about the customizable control of long pressing the left scroll wheel on the steering wheel. There are many things people are like “ugh I wish there was a button for…” but there is, you just have to pick what that button controls (cameras, wipers, climate, fan speed, driver mode settings, etc.) it’s really well thought out. I only like teslas more after diving into all its details.

    The reason you also have to add the phone in the bluetooth settings, is the phone that's connected is the Tesla app. Bluetooth is for connecting to the phone itself for bluetooth audio and other features. They are separate things.

    Another great feature of the power lift gate is you can manually push the hatch fully so you don't hit your head in instances when clearance permits. The next time you open the hatch, it will remember your pre-set height so it doesn't hit anything when you're back home.

    Do you have a video of it how is mounted and what it is?

  • @stevewaclo167
    @stevewaclo167 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Easy entry is an excellent option but unfortunately, a passenger behind the driver will find it to be a tight fit when the feature is active. I have that passenger wait until the driver’s seat moves to my saved position, before they get in. Same procedure on exiting. Get out before easy entry activates. But does everyone already know this? 😀
    Another option for estimating range is to pull up the energy screen and look at the right side of the display. There you will find the number of estimated remaining miles (I believe) based on your current driving conditions. Don’t know how accurate it is since I have yet to do a trial run, but I have noticed it seldom agrees with the % charge/miles remaining readout. YMMV

    For things like safety (for example, forward collision), I would recommend your viewers to start off with the more aggressive option first and then adjust it later on. Since the more aggressive options are arguably the safer options, it’s better they remain on them if they do not impede on their normal driving habits.

    Ryan, you've owned both long range and standard range M3s, right? Do you find the RWD one to be a true performance vehicle too even though it's only one motor? It's affordable with how highly valued my Honda Insight is in this used car market, so it's tempting. I love the LFP battery pack which can be 100% charged. It's still almost 300 horsepower too which is really fast. Especially compared to my Insight's 152 and 10 second 0-60 lol. I also like it saves one a lot of money and is built very quickly. I'm just afraid I'd regret the single motor if I went through with it.

    Now we need to get Tesla to add a button in the trip screen to toggle on or off the trip card at the bottom of the driving visualization like it use to be.

    Do you have to change the settings for the phone each time you upgrade. My car I have to mess with it for the Bluetooth for the phone to play music each time I get a new phone. Wouldn't be good to be unable to access or drive because you just got a new phone.

    I've heard this several times from Ryan to switch the tela to a % instead of miles, this idea seems crazy to me, i need to know how many miles (the unit of measure used for distance that can be traveled) are left before i am on "empty". The % only makes sense if you run to the grocery store and back home on your daily drive.....

    Wish they would put a secure manual access on the outside. My model Y has locked up (like completely bricked) on me twice and no one could access the car. After having it towed, Tesla had to break into the car and damaged the brightwork door trim doing so, which now has to be repaired.

    This was a very useful video. I have just one real complaint with the UI. We have roads where you are required to drive with your headlights on. One location is Hwy 152 between 101 and 5. Just as you get to the winding hilly section you have to turn on your lights for the Safety Corridor Turn On Lights. There is no way to quickly turn on your headlights while driving on a somewhat twisty road with a fair amount of traffic. I would really like a simply screen switch that will go from the existing setting, in my case from Auto, to On. Then when I hit the switch again it goes back to the original setting. Having to go into the Controls window and then again to go back to Auto is a real pain while you are driving.
    Again this is a very good video.

    Great tutorial. Just for my own peace of mind, I like to program Home and Work locations as nearby locations, rather than exact locations. What is the distance limit on location dependant options, like sentry record at home? I'm assuming if they are required to be exact locations that options like pin to drive and valet mode hide personal data and locations?

    I have a serious problem with my tesla. Originally the car couldn't see anything on the road except lines.
    They fixed this and said it was a firmware issue. But now it seems laggy and makes decisions slowly. For example if I'm driving down the road it won't see people or cars unless I slow way down.
    Tesla has been a pain to work with and I feel like they dont want to fix the problems.
    What do I do? I spent 93000 on a Y performance and got it 3 weeks ago.
