Hi Amelia. What a great series you are doing. Plus it must be lots of fun to creatively use those lovely scraps and make such beautiful garments. Thanks for doing this, Antonia (in California with no British Sewing Bee)
I love your new dresses! I'm so glad the Celebration for Life went well, and that it's over. Grieving takes time but feeling like we sent our mom off in a way she would appreciate is soul satisfying. Thank you for showing how you created your Lakala pattern 😊
Very cute!! Not without its challenges I’m sure but it looks so great, and a good sign if you’re now receiving orders 😂 Thanks for doing this series, it’s great fun
“Perfect for a British beach day” 😂 I know, you know, that pullover top is really for the middle of winter. Love your take on the “Bee” I’m not getting it yet on any of my subscriptions. I do enjoy watching and getting so invested with my favourites. Happy Sewing🦘🇦🇺
That turned out so incredibly beautiful!!! I'm always amazed how you are able to use your scraps and bits to create such lovely and professional-looking projects!
What a great sweater and I am amazed that you got it done in less than the time allowed. This is a really great series and I am very much enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing what you make next
Another great vlog, very enjoyable, I also wondered if the machines were set up for the sewing contestants, one thing also is that they may be using a machine they are not used to in the Sewing Bee, after all we have our preferences with regard to machines. Thank you for taking the time to make and share.
I'm really enjoying these videos and I love how you're using fabrics you have, especially when they're fabric scraps. This is such a good one for them. I think the addition of the heart for the zip was a good idea as it makes it look like the zip was black on purpose. I haven't sewn anything like that but I have the TATB stretch book and I'm planning to sew the Stella hoodie and joggers at some point 😊
Thanks so much! I am really enjoying using this as an opportunity to get some of these smaller scraps and bits of haberdashery used up! I have the stretch book too and I really want to try the Stella hoodie soon - maybe next winter!
Great series Amelia, thank you so much. I have made the North Star half zip Pullover for my Husband and Adult Son. The top for your looks really lovely.
So for Christmas, I thought I’d make half zip pullovers for my great nieces and nephews. Simple, right? Well, I had 7 to complete! I managed to complete them but I wouldn’t use the word “simple” to describe them to anyone.
Lovely top for your daughter, what is the difference between a stretch needle and a ball point needle? I’ve always used ballpoint for sewing knits, but I have seen stretch needles and now you mention it. I change needles frequently and to match the fabric as I know from bitter experience it makes a huge difference to the finish. ❤
Thanks so much, she loves the top so I am glad to have made it for her! I find stretch needles work really well for lycra and swimwear fabrics, or those knits with a lot of stretch. To be honest I sometimes just swap to a stretch from a ballpoint needle if the machine is skipping stitches, or not sewing the knit fabric happily and it does make a lot of difference for some fabrics.
Turned out very cute! Also I love the heart buttons on your pullover, the shorts you made, and the zipper pulls 🤩
Thank you!! 😊
Great make from the Bee! Nice work pulling bits from your stash to make the whole thing.
Thank you! It was a fun one to make.

Thanks so much Antonia. It is a really fun series to film and it has been a great challenge to use what I have in my stash to sew up these garments.
I love your new dresses!

Hi Janice, I think this comment might have been intended for another vlogger? ❤
Very cute!! Not without its challenges I’m sure but it looks so great, and a good sign if you’re now receiving orders 😂

Thanks Debra, I am glad you enjoyed the vlog. It must be so tricky sewing on an unfamiliar machine!

Wow, 7 is a lot! I hope they loved them!
Well done! I am looking at half zip tops now trying to decide between making or buying.
Thanks! It was a fun one to make, and not too tricky either!
❤

@@sewamelia thanks for explanation.
I hate Meriflex thread, it never works for me
It is a bit hit and miss isn't it! I find it works on some knit fabrics and not others.
