      Yes, in general. But, at least 2 corrections must be made.
      1. 5G in China by 2020 ??? Their cities have been running on 5G with driverless busses, long distance remote surgeries, and many other features, quite a while now.
      2. Apple is not a golden child of the "United States". Only 7% of the price of an iPhone end up in the United States. Only 3% end up in China. Remaining 90% goes to South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, & Israel, mostly for "patents & special parts".
      So, the notion that iPhone is "designed" in California is as accurate as the "literal & aesthetic ( not technological )" definition of the word "design", with less than little exaggeration.

      Okay, I get it. There is a lot of money to be made by whoever sets up 5G network/lnfrastructure in a country. Huawei is the leader in 5G technology.
      A few days ago 5G is up and running in China. Russia, Germany, Turkey, India have all signed separate deal to have Huawei install 5G in their country.
      This is not just about money. It's about spying and backdoor to the system.
      Remember about 15 years ago Blackberry was banned from selling phones in Saudi Arabia. Blackberry refused to give them access to BBM messages which were encrypted. Remember when Obama and Hillary used Blackberry phones. They were safe.
      US is upset with Huawei because Huawei won't give them backdoors to their phones and 5G infrastructure.

      I like Patrick, but he's wrong on a major point: The US isn't interested in 5G per se - it isn't "asking" China for 5G. 5G is US technology - the US simply doesn't have the manufacturing capacity to build it across the nation. What is happening is similar to the 1990s with 1G through 3G...back in 1986, the US fired Japan for betraying them during the Cold War and selling technology to the Soviets....so the US hired Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore....and China....to replace Japan (or take the majority of market share away from Japanese companies (at the time, companies like Toshiba and NEC were in the cross-hairs). But how why didn't Japan win that trade war? Simple, Japan couldn't develop the next generation. China didn't "develope" 5G anymore than Japan developed the earlier generations. THis was at a time when America was transferring "Super" technology, from super-capacitors to super-conductors. But when America transferred distributed element models and next gen chip manufacturing equipment to other countries' companies like Samsung and TSMC, Japanese companies were toast. The same is happening now. America's leverage is that while the Chinese "have" 5G, they don't have 6G, and are not in a position to innovate it. The Chinese can MANUFACTURE 6G in the same way the Japanese COULD have manufactured earlier versions but ONLY IF THE AMERICAN INDUSTRY TRANSFERS THE TECHNOLOGY TO THEM. Otherwise, Huawei is as doomed as NEC was - NEC's market share collapsed 70% in just a few years after Applied Materials, IBM, Motorola, Micron, Apple, etc, transferred their plans for next gen tech and manufacturing orders out of Japan. Incidentally, Motorola ofc got taken for all its worth in China (and its remnants eventually got folded into Google). But the bottom line is that this is a tech competition: Just as the Soviets and Americans had a "tech war" in the space race and the missile shield - and similarly when the US and Japan had a similar race at the tail-end of the Cold War. If China can innovate 6G and onwards, this is a real competition - but I know of nobody in the tech industry who thinks this. For example, some washout of the US industry joined a college lab in Berkley a couple of years ago and demonstrated a technology node that is measured in picometers....not nanometers - hundreds of picometers - and he was simply "demonstrating" a technology that is an "obsolete" and fairly well-known "trade secret" in the US industry (shielded under DOD and DOE auspices). He had to wait several years, apparently for his NDA to time out...and the technology for this picometer node isn't a big deal in the US because it's actually at least a decade old.....and again, this is a US reject/washout who's doing this - the real players stay in the industry or get investment to run their own companies, they don't go to college labs (which is why so many foreigners invest in colleges because they get scraps from the US industry)
      TRANSLATION: That which is "child's play" to the American industry is beyond cutting edge to the Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, South Koreans, etc.
      Huawei is doomed. That's why companies like TSMC, Panasonic, ARM, etc are backing away from Huawei. It's not just the US market talking. It's US innovation talking. If ARM is frozen out of US contacts in the US industry, all their technology will be just as obsolete as Huawei's in a few years. They'll end up just like NEC and Toshiba did...because America is the kingmaker - Samsung and TSMC were bit players compared to NEC who had a bigger monopoly than Huawei does now, but only so long as American companies said so - NEC manufactured whatever American companies told them to manufacture. That all changed once Japan started opposing US interests in geopolitics in the 1980s. The "firing" of Japan INC was a sea change, benefiting China's Huawei in the same dynamic as South Korea's Samsung and Taiwan's TSMC; they became bigger players than NEC because the American Kingmakers decreed it.
      Incidentally, Japan's Abe is partially friendly with Trump and his policies because Abe sees this as a "reversal" of this policy, which would of course benefit Japan.

    • @Terrekain
      @Terrekain 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ultimately, there's more to this than simply "current" technology (which is hardly cutting edge). There's also a matter of finance, food, materials, military/security, etc, all of which is to the PRC's disadvantage. Most people, for exmaple, don't understand what "going nuclear" actually means. The current steps by teh Trump administration are tame, really. In financial terms, for example, "going nuclear" in financial terms doesn't mean the US uses tariffs....it means the US voids or puts holds on the serial numbers of all the Notes China has, and freezes all of its US assets. And that's before you consider China's vulnerability in food and material shortages - you can't eat a smartphone after all. It's really surprising how many otherwise smart people don't seem to understand the Sword of Damocles hanging over China - partially because they don't understand the history of US-China trade and have no perspective (for example, I've had to inform so many high-net-worth businessmen that the US is in the Middle East because in 1970, Nixon had to make a deal with the Arabs to supply oil to China - the US didn't have enough oil for a vassal state as big as China and oil was necessary to industrialize and ultiamtely distribute food throughout China - roads, infrastructure, power line insulation, refrigeration, preservation, etc.)

    • @Terrekain
      @Terrekain 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Again, I love Patrick's business acumen, and he certainly has a professional analysis of the Huawei situation - and it's good that he's exposing his viewers to this perspective. He probably understands a lot of this, but the mis-interpretation of the Huawei leverage is probably a result of 2 things: (1) Scope. He's focusing on a copse of trees rather than the forest - granted it's a big copse and he's to be commended for a wide field of view. (2) Industry. Not a surprising shortcoming since this isn't really Patrick's industry, and when you're learning something, you necessarily come to partial information or wrong information in your education. That said, you can't learn if you're not willing to expose your ignorance - and people like Patrick know a lot because they're willing to make mistakes.
      One thing Patrick has right is to apply his general business aptitude: This is an endurance test between the US and China. The real mismatch is a matter of political will - and no matter how much of an advantage the Americans have in real terms, they are at a disadvantage in political terms due to the mismatch in political structure. China is even holding busted flush, while across the poker table the US has the Royal set. But even China can win if the US folds.

      Few mistakes...
      Correction: Facebook didn't collect data JUST for ads, they also use it politically, have you heard of their recent scandel?
      Reminder: Have you heard about Snowden?
      Correction: US companies have been proven/caught on numerous occations working with the GOVERNMENT and having backdoors, while there is still ZERO proof of Huawei doing any of this. For example, German intelligence have found over 10 backdoors from cisco since 2013, yet have found none from Huawei despite numerous reviews, and have concluded that Huawei is NOT A THREAT.
      And finally, Huawei founder have also pointed out recently that they are willing to sign a no backdoor treaty, but US companies are not willing to. Just goes to show whos hand is more dirty. And if you want to argue "well Chinese government can force them to turn over data"....This has never happened before and even if they do, it is the Network providers such as AT & T that has your personal data stored, NOT huawei (because they are just a network hardware), so there will be no data to turn over anyway. But again even this has never happened to Huawei due to reviews from many foreign intelligence, but we all know US is the biggest proven spy. End result speaks for itself.

Imagine what would it be like today if Native Americans had possessed some sort of nuclear weapons to defend themselves, and their beloved motherlands from invaders Colonizers? The answer is they would still have their own beloved motherlands, plus their population comparable to that of European population. I've no doubt about that. In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. remember, notorious Slavery as well as Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is this another notorious Colonization still lingering on? Impressive with how much effort you put in. Most of the information are correct, however, some details have not been mentioned.
    I'll list a few:
    1. Huawei had been accused of installing backdoor, but until right now there is still no evidence whatsoever. On the other side, German researchers have found Cisco installed a few backdoors, and they already showed it to the public.
    2. When you said American only spied by the private corporates, which is simply not true. It was also shown that US government spied on the people in US. Recently, Google also claimed they will provide all the information to the government if they were asked to.
    3. In 2019 first quarter, Huawei phone sale had already surpassed Apple and landed in second place. But overall sale in 2019 should be decreased due to the sanction. In 5G sale data, Huawei have already signed 50 contracts worldwide, which is half of the global market.

      What he did was actually quite awsome. But in these cases there is no right and wrong, only sides you pick. Politics is what they want you to think, many probably think becuase western media is not state owned so it must be telling the truth, or else some other western media would point it out. But what people don't know is that for western being western, it's political states are already rooted, what people hear is only one side of the story. Having heared these stories through time, those thoughts become own thoughts. The same applies in China. Just being one sided on the story means this was never about the truth or rights or what ever they say it might be about. It was always and is always about power. Most fear comes from the unknown, and westerners are not comfortable with the way China does things, so they reject it, which is understandable. But having been pressed by western invasions(which in western countries the history might be altered or censored), the Chinese has been on there back foot for almost two centries, the people has lost a lot of things, and now China has finally a chance to come back at top again, who in China would resist that? It's just like saying make America great again but just in Chinese, now why is that suddenly different?Is it becuase having all the power China is just going to distroy world economy and end civilization as we know it? Or is the party going to imprison every living soul on the planet? Or is it just China trying to take over and do what the US has been doing all along leaving the US no grounds to back on? Who knows, since no one could know the whole story. Wait a minute, I think the spies might know, since they can access every data anyone has, they might even know what a random guy had for lunch which is very essential to national security.
      Do you get what I mean? Everything we say has political bases, it was never about right or wrong, only the gold behind the curtains. You might think what you think is all independent, but what you think is what you see and hear for your life, especially when it comes to politicts. So frankly I don't even care about politicts that much anymore, all I need to care about is my life, and people who are close to me, and people who might need help around the world. Humanitarian is a good thing when it comes to aiding people and creating bonds, but politics is just not my favourite thing having heard both sides of the story, so I put my effort in to harmony, even donating to charities help a lot more than arguing over the Internet, but as you can see people care nothing about the environment or humanitarian aids over power and politics, that is just human nature, and also the law of nature, so I really don't know what to blame.
      But it makes no difference, the world is slowly coming to an end, natural resources are seeing the bottom, and human is literally digging our own grave, but all
      I see is human fighting over everything there is.I just don't under stand it. Actually I might do, being self-ish(or should I say self-centered) actually explains everything. Now I get how it works, I should probably just do the same, which is what ever I want. Which infact brings us to square 1:Whatever I do I stand my own grounds. Which has always been a sides problem instead of a right and wrong problem.
      Having a storm gone in my head, I feel like it's a problem that can't be solved trough arguing, so what will actually happen is really beyond my concern, all I have to do is to adapt to new environments(natural and social), and that is how one lives. The ability to adapt and ajust is what keeps all species still living, becuse nuture is the best thing that happened to all life on the planet, people who fight against nature shall be punished, and that is the most important law of nature.

    You have not addressed the health concerns of 5G antennas. They will need to be placed every 100 to 125 feet. They use a microwave band very near the 3 mm band used in the back-scatter X-ray machines used as airport scanners. There have been no studies on the health effects of this band on human tissues at the proposed 3-5 watt hour rate the phones will emit. Might be nothing, but this is not the low frequency radio spectrum that 1-2-3 G used.

      There is evidence that it is not powerful enough to harm humans, the radiation from your screens likely does more harm to you overall than 5G (damage to eyes and stuff) Going outside and being hit with UV from the sun does magnitudes more than 5G

    How do I invest on 5G technology?

    • @seraphb.601
      @seraphb.601 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not. At least in Huawei's case. The company is property of the employees mostly. There are no shares for sale.
      The employees work hard, the employees get richer than they ever dreamed of. Nobody else gets a slice of that cake. They like to keep things simple over there. No leeches policy.
      Which is unfortunate, because I would have liked to get onboard too, it's such an easy-to-predict mark...but I understand their decision.
      I don't know if you could invest in some other way tho. What I definitely wouldn't recommend is investing in the competitors. You can do it ofc but you'll be crying afterwards, let me tell you. Huawei is already too far ahead in the game after securing Russia. There needs to be a severe plot twist for the trend to break.
