Very humble guy, we have met a few times on the same stage (my band was a support to Hunter), nice memories tho ;-) One of the best polish drummers talked to me as I was equal to him. Big kudos to him. Salut, Daray!

hard to say who is better between Daray and the mixing engineer. Not to stray away from the Meinl portion but this whole mix is incredibly well done. Big props to all for that matter.

Nick Barker was only a guest on two Dimmu albums for what I appreciate him because he is a great drummer :) but I'm also proud of Darek is a Pole and sat behind the drums in a band I like for a long time :) I greet you warmly :)

I always thought Dimmu Borgir was incredibly fast death metal. Didn't expect it to be that melodic.

Of curse it would be nice but I think this is not one of the hardest songs to play so you can basically hear what he is playing , but you are right it wouldn’t have hunted them.

Of all the Dimmu drummers this one is their best ever, this guy possess so many techniques and his stamina is out of this world.
Tjodalv was great, Nicholas Barker was magnificent and Daray is outstanding. \m/ }:> \m/

Nick Barker era Dimmu was my favorite, but this guy is great, too. Hellhammer was pretty "meh," especially in the creativity realm. This Daray guy is a beast and has some nice touches.
My favorite era is the Tjodalv one, but yeah in terms of strictly drumming the Barker one was the best. His patterns and fills fit Dimmu the best.
Hellhammer is arguably the most proficient and versatile they've had, but for some reason they never "clicked" togheter. Although there are some sick and underrated parts in both Stormblast and In Sorte Diaboli.
Daray is excellent and very solid, but i fear he, and in a way HH too, is suffering in these comparison due to Dimmu's change in music over the years. For many they've been on a clear decline after Puritanical musically.
Sometimes you get the right guys together and magic happens, other times you hire a guy and nothing special happens
@MortalGamerDC1 85 I have a theory that hellhammer Is a deeply closeted, self loathing gay man.
Tjodalv era was by far the best, but after his and Nick Barker departure Dimmu should have added Tony Laureano as its drummer.
Hellhammer didnt quite fit into Dimmu's style, but let's not forget that Hellhammer was hired for Stormblast and ended up in the line up of In Sorte Diaboli, but basically had no voice regarding the production of Stormblast and In Sorte Diaboli.
He once said in an interview that he did what asked him to.
@@containternet9290 Tony Laureano is probably the most underrated drummer in metal, just listen to Blessed Dead* (thats hilarious I said Blessed Dead jam because that's how many times I've watched Kollias' playthrough of it on YT) by Nile and you'll see why but I am glad they went with Daray. It just works for the band now. And it always pissed me off on live videos after Barker where Tony is playing and people are talking crap and they have zero idea how good he actually is. And again I think Hellhammer was perfect for the remake of Stormblast, its my favorite DB album and I can't imagine it any different, it just works.

@MortalGamerDC1 85 old dimmu destroys yes, however everything that Vesania has done is god tier. Their composition and atmosphere is second to none. Daray is an incredible drummer and this is child's play compared to the shit vesania writes(except nick barker naturally.)
@MortalGamerDC1 85 Jan is over rated. Completely. But Nick is one of the most consistent and creative drummers of our day. Daray is absolutely incredible. He is probably my second favorite drummer other than Barker. His work with Vesania is masterclass. Don't sell him short my friend.

Hold up, was Daray a session drummer for Vader a few years ago? There was a festival where Vader played and it looked like Daray was behind the kit when they played "This is the War"

well tbh I don't think it was Nick Barker that was that good.. it's just that the songs were much better when vortex and mustis was in the band. Sadly Daray hasnt got to play on a good album... you can only do so much
@@user-me7mm7gr1p Agreed, both Hellhammer and Daray played on worse records, since after Puritanical Dimmu started to change musically.
Barker and Tjodalv played when Dimmu were at their peak and pushed the limits of symphonic BM.
HH and Daray are easily as good as Barker, if not better in other departments. They just played on worse records and their playing didn't "fit" Dimmu like Nicholas did.

Hm thougth he was more solid. Considering its Borgirs drummer. Whats up at 4:35 ?? If ure listning to the hi-hat u can hear a slight glitch. After the tom fill when he comes back. And you see that the tomfill is almost to much for him.

The whole drumset sounds like the heads were placed and finger tightened and the drum tech forgot to tune them xD. Only thing sounding good are the bass drums because they are triggered.

ThyArt yeah the kit sounds like a huge powerful deep low drum sound perfect for this style of music. Sounds good to me. I personally like my toms and snare tuned little higher around medium tension but this doesn’t sound bad by any means.
