He was kind of forced to accept the path he didn't want to follow for the greater good. I only read the first part of the first book, but I imagine it might explain a little more.

I'd argue Lord of The rings is far too simplistic and black and white. Great for the first fantasy book series, not so great when compared to other fantasies/sci-fis
@@AverageAlienI have to agree with you on this. I can’t for the life of me finish reading Return of The King simply because I find it as you said “to black and white”. However, this doesn’t mean LoTR is bad far from it, I suppose I just enjoy more complexity in literature now as the real world is never black and white, which Dune portrays beautifully.
@@AverageAlien IIRC Tolkien didn't like Dune because he preferred pure good vs. evil. Personally, I think Dune's grey-ness is far more compelling. Still, there's room for both stories, and things to be appreciated about each.
As a musician myself I've heard first 3 seconds of low drums, took my headphones off just to say what the fuck have i just heard. Those deep and not dirty drums, oh my god guys this is pure genius. Never have i ever been so impressed by 3 seconds of drums

It combined with the motif of the black sun emitting a completely different visible light spectrum to create one of the most alien environments I've ever seen portrayed in the visual medium. It was an absolute *feast* for your eyes and ears.
The use of church bells for "Kiss the Ring" is INSPIRED. Its so brief you could miss [11:08] it but it is the apotheosis of Paul. His final ascension. The moment he becomes a god of war. It's incredible!
This is amazing barely hear it without timing code, even in headphones, this makes it kinda special, to bad i watched the movie not in IMAX, sound was pretty bad 😢
I'm overwhelmed by the experience. After watching the movie, for a moment, I sincerely considered myself to be a privileged human being for watching and experiencing such an epic piece of art

Not being cruel or anything else here, but as wonderful as this, whether it stands the test of time and is remembered 50 years later, is going to be debateable. But for here, right now in 2024, it's one of Zimmer's finest for a long while. It's really moving and melancholic - as it should be. I sat through the entire end credits for the music. Even when some poor sod was trying to clean up around me. I've paid for it, I'm seeing it through to the end.
There is only one messiah and alone he deserves that name. Jesus christ our messiah who will come back and judge all the living and the dead. The love of my life my redeemer❤❤
Another masterpiece of a score. Sat in total shock at the end of the movie, even having read the books, that ending was far far sadder than I had ever expected.
@@sp1011 I haven't read the books yet, but I heard that in the books; Chani is completely okay with Paul taking the emperor's daughter's hand because she knows it's something that Paul needs to do. Also, Paul and Chani had a child that was killed but they completely cut it off from the move. (This could be wrong, it's only what I've heard.)
@@sp1011Chani in the books 1. Is actually "married" to Paul and they have a child (who is killed in the attack on the Sietch). 2. Actively intercedes and stops people from trying to challenge him to a duel for leadership. "If you wanna fight him, surely you think you can take me" kinda thing. 3. Is, at least outwardly, totally cool with Paul taking the Emperor's daughter's hand, and sticks by him at the end.
I like the changes to the book storyline, because the films adapt Frank Herbert's core ideas to present day perspectives. Dune part 2 preserves the cynical views on power, prophecy and the 'white saviour complex', and related heroic takes that are at the core of mainstream storytelling. I don't think people discuss enough how much of Paul's character is based on T.E. Lawrence, his role as British agent in the Arab Revolt, and the subsequent history of the Middle East. And there's even a hint of (gasp) Marxist thought in Chani's rebuke of Paul's path and her own understanding of people as the real shapers of history, more than individual heroic figures. I don't know if Villeneuve will elaborate on this in a third film, but it was cool to see this departure from Chani's flatter role, at least in the first book.
I feel lucky and blessed to live in a time where you can experience this epic movie in a theater, with this absolutely breathtaking score. I was left in awe and confusion, i can't wait for the next movie already.
Saw an interview with Hans Zimmer and he said something like, "Denis put a copy of Dune Messiah on my keyboard. I don't know. Maybe he just had an extra copy?" lmao ... I'm already on the "shut up and take my money" train for this ride.
Zimmer has so much inspiration for these soundtracks The Lion King , Kung Fu Panda , Dune , Gladiator ... So much culture and instruments chosen wisely , now the wait cant be longer for Dune Messiah

When Paul comes across everyone's sight riding that mighty Shai Hulud, and Stilgar looks at him astonished, many of them just fall to their knees, as if compelled by their unquavering strong beliefs to bend them because they have no doubt, none at all... that Lisan Al-Gaib has finally come. Also, I love Feyd Rautha's mighty intro. All the arena scene is majestic, the soundtrack, the voice in a foreign language with guttural voice and the powerful chanting and praising either also by strong belief or being feared by their Baron, makes it such an unique experience. Yes, IMAX is the way to experience it all.
It was heartbreaking. Zendaya always struck me as a delicate individual, but Chani is raw and she had me convinced: she resisted; she gave in; she was rejected. This was a sad ending. There's no other reading of it.
The motif of this soundtrack is so amazingly powerful with its combination of emotional, exotic, and epic feel - taking Dune 1's already timeless score and somehow rising to new heights with part 2's score is quite the achievement

I just watched this movie last night with my friend and this was just mindblowing!!! He saw Part one two days before for the First time. It was one of the best Movies he ever saw. In the cinema they made a break after an hour. Time for us to take a breath and just realize what we are watching here. 2 Hours later we Both were sure, THIS is the BEST MOVIE we ever saw and a absolut beautiful and legenday masterpiece, we will definitely talk about even in decades to our grandchildren🤩❤👏👏👏
Duduk, Armenian instrument is one of the best thematic mind experiences that nothing comes close. One of the best used was in Gladiator (2000) and yes it was Zimmer. This one is equally to one of the top.
I'd say one in the same league is pan flute. Had no idea it existed until I saw once upon a time in America, which I call the greatest score of all time. But the duduk was awesome here
I needed this music to calm my heart and mind. It's definitely going down us one of the greatest film soundtracks of all time. I can't wait for this movie to win all of the awards. Finally quality we have quality after a long drought.

For some reason that I cannot explain, the beginning of this track reminds me so much of Paul and his mother Jessica and their relationship. It's tender, beautiful and sad.
This music reminds me of a sunrise eclipsed by two planets. In just a moment, as the sun ascends, another wonderful minute on Arrakis will commence. This time, water will spill onto the desert, but it won't linger for long, yet we'll remember it forever.
Hans Zimmer is a poet with an orchestra and his deep understanding of human emotions allows him to play us, the audience, to the highs, lows, excitement, romance, and near godliness of his creations.

“A time of quiet between the storms” and “Only I will remain” will soon become Hans Zimmer Classics 👏🏼 Normally I don’t like movies getting another Oscar for their score in following parts but I think this score is even more outstanding than the first one 😮 I can definitely see Zimmer winning his third one 🙏🏼

Villeneuve will change a lot more things from that book than we think. And probably for the best, because that book is terrible.

Another masterpiece of a score. Sat in total shock at the end of the movie, even having read the books, that ending was far far sadder than I had ever expected.

@@sp1011 I haven't read the books yet, but I heard that in the books; Chani is completely okay with Paul taking the emperor's daughter's hand because she knows it's something that Paul needs to do. Also, Paul and Chani had a child that was killed but they completely cut it off from the move. (This could be wrong, it's only what I've heard.)

2. Actively intercedes and stops people from trying to challenge him to a duel for leadership. "If you wanna fight him, surely you think you can take me" kinda thing.
3. Is, at least outwardly, totally cool with Paul taking the Emperor's daughter's hand, and sticks by him at the end.
I like the changes to the book storyline, because the films adapt Frank Herbert's core ideas to present day perspectives. Dune part 2 preserves the cynical views on power, prophecy and the 'white saviour complex', and related heroic takes that are at the core of mainstream storytelling. I don't think people discuss enough how much of Paul's character is based on T.E. Lawrence, his role as British agent in the Arab Revolt, and the subsequent history of the Middle East.
And there's even a hint of (gasp) Marxist thought in Chani's rebuke of Paul's path and her own understanding of people as the real shapers of history, more than individual heroic figures. I don't know if Villeneuve will elaborate on this in a third film, but it was cool to see this departure from Chani's flatter role, at least in the first book.
Zimmer and Denis made us look at real beauty of desert. Who knew just looking at desert /sand dunes could be so ASMR

I feel lucky and blessed to live in a time where you can experience this epic movie in a theater, with this absolutely breathtaking score.
I was left in awe and confusion, i can't wait for the next movie already.
Directors that get Hans Zimmer know how important having an amazing soundtrack elevates their movie.
Good news for fans: They ARE making a Part 3. It's already confirmed. Dune Messiah, more than likely.
Saw an interview with Hans Zimmer and he said something like, "Denis put a copy of Dune Messiah on my keyboard. I don't know. Maybe he just had an extra copy?" lmao ... I'm already on the "shut up and take my money" train for this ride.

When Paul comes across everyone's sight riding that mighty Shai Hulud, and Stilgar looks at him astonished, many of them just fall to their knees, as if compelled by their unquavering strong beliefs to bend them because they have no doubt, none at all... that Lisan Al-Gaib has finally come.
Also, I love Feyd Rautha's mighty intro. All the arena scene is majestic, the soundtrack, the voice in a foreign language with guttural voice and the powerful chanting and praising either also by strong belief or being feared by their Baron, makes it such an unique experience. Yes, IMAX is the way to experience it all.

It was heartbreaking. Zendaya always struck me as a delicate individual, but Chani is raw and she had me convinced: she resisted; she gave in; she was rejected. This was a sad ending. There's no other reading of it.
I literally close my eyes and njoy this part till end of the score with goosebumps in cinema .......wat an experience

I just watched this movie last night with my friend and this was just mindblowing!!! He saw Part one two days before for the First time. It was one of the best Movies he ever saw. In the cinema they made a break after an hour. Time for us to take a breath and just realize what we are watching here. 2 Hours later we Both were sure, THIS is the BEST MOVIE we ever saw and a absolut beautiful and legenday masterpiece, we will definitely talk about even in decades to our grandchildren🤩❤👏👏👏

Duduk, Armenian instrument is one of the best thematic mind experiences that nothing comes close. One of the best used was in Gladiator (2000) and yes it was Zimmer. This one is equally to one of the top.

I'd say one in the same league is pan flute. Had no idea it existed until I saw once upon a time in America, which I call the greatest score of all time.

I needed this music to calm my heart and mind. It's definitely going down us one of the greatest film soundtracks of all time. I can't wait for this movie to win all of the awards. Finally quality we have quality after a long drought.

The sounds produced by those instruments reminds me of traditional instruments and music from North African and Middle Eastern cultures very beautiful

For some reason that I cannot explain, the beginning of this track reminds me so much of Paul and his mother Jessica and their relationship. It's tender, beautiful and sad.
This music reminds me of a sunrise eclipsed by two planets. In just a moment, as the sun ascends, another wonderful minute on Arrakis will commence. This time, water will spill onto the desert, but it won't linger for long, yet we'll remember it forever.
That transition from "Resurrection" to "You fought well" is pure gold.
Hans Zimmer is a poet with an orchestra and his deep understanding of human emotions allows him to play us, the audience, to the highs, lows, excitement, romance, and near godliness of his creations.

Goosebumps i remember how emotional i got with this music swelling. You know youre a legendary composer when your music alone tells a story and moves the motion picture along in a way where it transcends viewing.
