- Hey modelers! In this video I'm going to give a quick review of the new Vallejo Game Air color line. I like these paints, (and the Vallejo Model Air as well), because they're pre-thinned for airbrushing and are easy to paint with a brush! This review shows the color chart and consistency of the new paint line compared with Vallejo Game Color.

Totally agree with you regarding these pre-diluted paints. They are brilliant! I bought a cheapo airbrush and compressor combo from Amazon for around £50, and this exact set of paints. This was my third throw of the dice with airbrushing and the previous two airbrushes ended up in the bin. I could never get the mix of the paint right, which led either to a clogging head, a splatter kind of spray if too thick, or paint runs if too thin and generally a huge hill of pain. But even with a cheap airbrush which I have used for a month now, no clogs, no runs and a consistent finish every time. I would highly recommend Vallejo's airbrush cleaner too as it takes away the fuss of a messy clean-up afterwards. I have a SAGUD cleaning canister - also from Amazon, and just squirt some cleaner into the paint reservoir of the airbrush then spray through two or three times into the cannister and it is job done!
would you replace regular game colors with game air?
Jamie, When I first started out, I used Liquitex acrylic paints that I picked up from a craft store. So, Yeah! its possible. I've slowly gravitated towards pre-mixed lines of paint for convenience.
im new yes im a noob to airbrushing but i used to have the old citadel warhammer airbrush and i mever like it im thinkig about getting another airbrush are these type of paints worth getting
do you know how well and cleanly this make can be applied to plastic toys? does it need a primer to get the best results? Ive tried tamiya recently and it didnt come out looking very "clean" i guess is the word for it
Can you use the Air line of pants for regular brush work? Don't have an Air Brush but I like that the paints are already thinned for you.
Yep! I use em for regular brush work all the time!
Thank you, I was deciding on Model color or the Game Air. All my painting is done with a brush but wasn't sure if they were to thin for the regular brush work. I like the color from the Game Air a bit better.
Where did you get the color swatch pamphlet? Thanks
Nice videos. Do you know if the air paints are still ok to use for dry brushing?
I don't think they're as ready for dry brushing as some of the other thicker paint lines like Game Color, P3, or Citadel.
so can you put these in an airbrush straight out of the bottle or do you have to thin it at all?
Straight out of the bottle did the job for me..
I'm still 36 uk pound for a 12 pack of AIr in 2020 from my hobby shop, if just recently moved to these from enamels
Very nice, I thnk I might of finally found my paints. I loved model air but there was a lack of the really vibrant colors, but now game air is here and while they don't have a falcon turquoise I can always mix my own. As a side note I hate how bad the game colors seperate and take forever to mix back.
WAIT! what where the first two greens you used before the goblin greens
+Nathan Carbo escorpina green?
***** Okay thanks
Just got my first minis as a birthday gift, they're bones creatures. These paints, though, seem terribly expensive! I saw in one video that you used Windsor & Newton oil paint for a wash. Is it possible to use artist grade oil (or acrylic) paints properly thinned? Does anyone do that? Thought I could mix my own colors in drop bottles.
Thanks for the videos! Surprisingly entertaining ;-) subscribed!!
if you think it's expensive go look at the citadel air paint set. Same amount of colors for 600$
I had already planned on asking my wife for the entire Game Air line for a Christmas gift! The full set goes for around a hundred and sixty four U.S. dollars.
Beautiful stuff Jeffers. Miss you. Peace
Yea Jeff!
Thx for the review !
Wonderful review, Jeff. Thanks for sharing. More coffee.
Anyone unearthed a US site with a decent discount on the set of Game Air?
Also, thanks for the review!
Dunno about the discount, but here you go www.fantization.com/Complete-Set-vallejo-game-air.aspx and www.thewarstore.com/vallejogameaircolors.html
Nice video =) Vallejo is the best colors =))
I just subscribed to you. For some reason, you make me think of Seymour Skinner. XD
Nice review. I just got a few of them from the Warstore. I have a full Minitaire set - aslo good paints, but the metallics are awful.
