- The Most Beautiful Kayaking run in Florida is in Apopka, Florida at "the Emerald Cut" and is a part of the Rock Springs run next to Kelly Park where Rock Springs is located! The water is so pristine and its perfect for a day trip or as part of your camping adventure at Kelly Park!

We were in there in mid June. Wednesdays are the least crowded i noticed :)
My family are heading to Disney in April, and looking for some different things to do. This certainly piqued my interest. My daughter was worried about the current and gators 😉
This is a pretty easy paddle and doesn't take long! Definitely put this on your list. Gators stay up river usually where its warmer, I have never seen one in the spring areas!! Let us know if you end up doing it!!
We will. The plan is to go down on during the week for easier crowds. My daughter seems to be more relaxed due to your comment.

So were you allowed to go into Rock springs without your kayak? Or would you have to go and pay for admission?

You can bring your own, they still do charge a fee to put in, not sure how much. Glad you enjoyed it
How bout if you take the 8 hour paddle, do you paddle back or they bring you back in a shuttle? Thanks for sharing 👍
We hope to bring you that run on our channel in the future, but that actually have a shuttle service for you on that run, so they pick you up and bring you back!!

Yes its perfect for it, I stopped and talked with two people doing just that and they were loving it that day!!

Spring water is cooler, so generally a low alligator population.
I live in Florida 30 yrs now. If there is a body of water, there is a gator in it. Yes, we have Gators in our Springs also. I kayak in most of our springs and I always see gators. They seem to be smaller in the springs. Juniper springs Kayak run has quite a few of them. Gators would rather eat fish than have to put up a fight with humans. They are ambush preditors and they like easy prey.
Our experience has been that we have never seen a gator in the swimming area of a spring, park rangers have shared with us that they tend to stay up river where its warmer, now on this run, you may have noticed you could have done the paddle to the left, on that direction you would have definitely seen some gators as that is where the river flows into the wekiwa river! To commercialized. It’s bumper to bumper with the kayaks. Worst place ever. Misleading title. Much better places are rainbow, silver springs.
Did you get to see our Silver Springs kayaking episode from earlier this year? I have to agree on Rainbow and Silver Springs for kayaking. I just love how pristine this run is and we did it in the middle of the week and its really not to crowded heading out around 10:00ish. Thanks for checking it out for us!!
