Aaron, Remember how I told you I had to pull my newly rebuilt RevUp engine to fix a rear main seal leak? Well, I did it! And since I was familiar with the process of pulling the old engine the first time, I did it in like 7-8hrs the second time (one day, straight through, no breaks). 👊😎
Aaron as you know i may be (next to your parents) your biggest fan & supporter. When i get my G out of the shop (my son got rear ended by a moron 20 something on her phone) i am going to come down to Florida and meet you in person!!! Hopefully you can give me some tips. I actually have business in South Florida on a regular basis. Another great video young man. Ya get smarter and smarter every upload!!!
Love this guy never disappoints me i was hesitating on paying to get my engine removed by someone but now im just gunnah do it myself i changed the clutch myself a while back on the street and it was a pain in the ass but now that u showed me the trick of the harnesss wayyy tooo easy might even do it this week now im actually kind of excited
Yo Aarón Im a Toyota technician and I have a g35 coupe and didn’t know you can pull that whole front end with headlights and all attached. Even I learned something in this video. It’ll help me next month when I do my timing chain, lifters, water pump, gallery gaskets, chain tensioners and obviously timing cover reseal and all once I’m in there
Hell yeah brother! It’s probably the only “lucky” thing about our G’s design ahaha and most Toyotas have a metal rad support and can’t be removed. I had no idea it could all come out together either until I pulled it like the 3rd time haha
Great video. Some people unbolt the transmission at the bell housing and pull just the engine in order to avoid the power steering lines. Dunno if that’s really easier though.
Aaron, Love the content brother!!! All great tips and tricks!! I’m a fan of all your videos!! So I’m doing something different and I hope I’m not offending diehard VQ fans, but I’m swapping the VQ with a 2JZ GTE non VVTI, and a 6sp MT. I’ve watched tons of videos and I’m all in. You’re super detailed and knowledgeable when it comes to all you’ve done to your G!! It looks sweet and I’d be honored to rap with you one of these days!! It’s super motivating seeing you do all you do in a regular garage. You’re a true inspiration sir!! Cheers and congrats on pulling that motor in 2:57!!
Aaron, Always appreciate your videos. I am looking at replacing the engine in my 07 G35, also 6MT, here soon and am making a needs list and tanking up on videos so I am more familiar with the process. These are some great tips! Thanks again!
nice man I've got two g35s I've gotta pull engines and trans and swap so this hopefully will help I've pulled a crap ton of the VG30E and DE motors but these are my first vq pulls
I have my first car (g35 coupe manual) I’ve had for about a year and now the engine starting to knock everything else is good so I’m going to try to save the car by replacing the engine I’m just nervous bc I’m not a mechanic I’m a welder 😂😂 it’s definitely gonna be a mission this video definitely helps me understand it more I need to do more research but I can’t wait to get it started I’m so anxious anyways there was some very useful tips thank you for the video💯💯🔥
Best video on engine swaping never pulled an engine didn't have the money to pay someone to do it so I seen this video on how to pull my vq and he made it look easy and explained everything good i was able to swap my engine all by my self and did it in three days thanks to you Aaron good video 👌🤌🤙
Bro, I swear I have a cousin named Jesse that looks like you, master Infiniti tech too. Anyways, props on your videos, one of the few dudes who ACTUALLY DO THEIR OWN WORK instead of having their off-camera buddy do it. That's what's up doggie, keep it up. Love my G too #infiniti
hey aaron was curious on why you keep the trans and motor together when removing why not just remove trans from motor is it quicker to do it all together?
Have some things I need to do on my 2006 g35 coupe. Would like to see a video of the body mounts being replaced. Have you had problem with the wipers turning on by themselves. And no light of any kind on my display on the top dash. No ac...radio works. No memory either.....just my next projects.
Aaron! Good stuff man. Keep it up, I love your videos. I bought the jl stealth box from you and still didn’t find the time to put it in 😭. I’m in Jersey, but one day would love to drive down to the keys. I fly to Orlando a lot, but want to take the ride. It’s be awesome to bump into you one day.
Not gonna lie… having seen you have so many issues with your boosted G35 I decided not go through with it and ended up selling the car. Props to you. keep pushing car is amazing and content on point.
Good educational video. My G35 been sitting for 3 yrs now will finally getting around to fixing it to get it back on the road and this is yet a boost in inspiration to get it going. How hard was it to get the harness out from passanger side? Also, whats your opinion of ordering a used motor from LKQ?
Is it the same thing if I’m swapping a differnt engine in? Still only drain the tranny fluid and coolant or am I gonna have to do them all? Obv gonna do an oil change but this is my first swap
Hey bro I did a transmission swap on my g but when rotating the crank pulley to take off the torque converter I forgot to mark my starting point of the crank pulley, I bolted everything back up and realized what I did after. What steps would I take to fix this, or am I good to just start her up?
Im having trouble with my clutch pedal. When my car is off the clutch holds pressure but then when I turn it on it loses pressure. Replaced the slave and master cylinder already.
It is not. If you're trying to swap a de into a revup car, the easiest way is to put the revup heads onto the de block as it bolts right up. Otherwise if you dont swap the heads then you have to swap ECUs and its a massive headache.
My g35 just mess up i just replaced the valve cover and spark plugs and coils cause it was miss firing we spent 10 hours replacing the vavle cover and coils and spark plugs but now we think it need head gasket cause the spark plug and coils had oil any tips??
If your plugs had oil it doesn’t mean head gasket. If they had coolant it means head gasket. Oil on your plugs means spark plug tube seals most likely anwhich for whatever reason you can’t replace them you have to get a whole valve cover thanks Nissan lol
OHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... ! So close!!! You did it wrong!!! Come to my place and try again on mine! Then I'll tell you where you pooched the screw! (hint- you didn't do mine first) GG good time! I wish my mechanic would only bill me for 3 hrs on that job.
@@ybjtv9648 it could be bad wiring or a short to the ignition coils or the fuel injector. It’s usually a cheap fix but can take some time to diagnose. Definitely fix it!

for that waste gate, i dare you cut and build an access panel at the fire wall area. lol and make another DIY video. haha right?
Hellya. It only took u longer cause the heavy mods!
Does this method of removing the whole front with headlights only apply to the G35? I have a 350Z (Z33)

Hey brother any idea what size socket to remove the torque converter bolts and how many there are?
Bold of you to assume i have freeon
I got a question would this be the same process for a 2008 g37?
Is the steps to changing this engine the same as changing a g37 motor
Im having trouble with my clutch pedal. When my car is off the clutch holds pressure but then when I turn it on it loses pressure. Replaced the slave and master cylinder already.
Is it possible just to remove and put to the side (ac compressor) instead of getting it drain?
how can i swap my de-rev up to a non De rev up? any tips
Where do you hook up the chain on the engine....i dont wanna bent anything
Does the easier front end removal work on a 350z too?
Pretty sure it does!
I got questions about the radio bezel did you make that
Hey I’m in florida and I’m stuck I just drove through a big puddle and my g37 has long tube intakes and it’s knocking
do you know or anyone else here know if this is the same concept as the vq37vhr? as in taking off the headlights condenser unit as one
That freeon will make you cough a lot
Can You pull the engine and trans out with the Cats on !
What are your belt sizes?
G37 starts and stalls, no engine lights.. any ideas?
Do you know of the rev up short block is different from the non rev up?
