I admire how clean Japanese people are about their cooking. The process is just as elegant as the food they are serving. It’s so respectful towards the food and I think this is something that I want to learn from them. How to be neat and tidy in everyday tasks. Like folding my clothes before taking a shower instead of throwing it on the floor, or making sure to wipe down the sink area after I’m done washing my face/brushing. Small things like this can improve your daily quality of life.

Excellent video and enjoyable! What is the powder you added to the dashi stock? And ever make it with the pork tenderloins? I find cleaning the tenderloin of silver skin, and then slice in thick medallions and pound really 😋 tasty too.
Do you mean when she makes the miso soup? That powder is actually the stock granules. She adds that to plain water (there are also vegetables in the pan) to make stock i.e. dashi. I don't know exactly what type of stock granules, but usually ready made ones are a mixture of kelp, bonito and anchovy stock. Cutlets made with pork tenderloin are called "hirekatsu" (lit. fillet cutlet) and are typically not made into "katsudon (braised pork cutlet on rice)" but "katsuni (braised pork cutlet)" served separately with rice. A fattier cut is prefered with "katsudon".
I recently made this and oh my gosh was it good! I made mine with chicken breasts. I cut them in half length wise. I skipped out on the soup because I wasn't in the mood for it. I didn't have the dashi stock so I just used chicken bouillon cubes. My fiance and both my brothers really enjoyed it. I thought the recipe was easy to follow and replicate. I am excited to make it again in the future!

最近は煮ないカツ丼ばかりでした。具材だけ煮てたまごでとじたのを揚げ立てのトンカツにかけるんですが、トンカツがサクサクのままの食感にハマりました🤭
