Damn these comments. Why can't people like Oatmeal and Cereal? I love Prince and I love Michael. I refuse to try to compare two black geniuses. They are amazing in their own ways. From what I've heard they were friends. I've heard the other side of that narrative as well. I hope they were friends that figured a public rivalry was beneficial to both of their careers. I've listened to both my entire life and can't get enough of either. I'm glad we had Michael and I'm glad we had Prince. And I'm glad they had each other. I could go on forever about them. Appreciate the feel good stuff because negative stuff is gonna happen. Don't hate on something good because you think something else is better. Be thankful you can experience both. You could have never experienced either of them. Be grateful.
when you previously said "not allowed to talk about this person" I wasn't expecting it to be MJ at all lol it's interesting to know that the rumour about prince re recording Bad was fake, since Sheila actually shared a quite similar version of that same story
She wasn't the only one who said that tho so there has to be some truth to that story---I just don't think Sheila was actually privy to that situation.
you do not hve to ba fan of the music. I don't take a side over both of these great recording Artists. ATHOUGH, Michael have an edge over Prince when it comes to his participation in the business. Michael was a professional by the age of 10. Prince was still finding out who he was. Michael was a full fledge bonafide artist. That's the difference.
Excuse me Michael doesn't always sings in his Falsetto. What albums you have been hearing. Don't Stop Still You Get Enough was only one song. He's a natural tenor. He sings mostly in his chest voice.
Side 2 is the better side for me, and I agree with you on the production - just starting to wear a bit thin. Side 1 Off the Wall peak MJ for me. I'm also glad Prince and MJ didn't do a duet. It just would not have worked, much like Love Song with Madonna.
Come on, fam! Really....?....?.....?.... The last thing I subscribed to your channel for is content about Michael Jackson!!!! This is due to primarily 2 reasons: 1. Like you, I am not a fan (although I idolized him when I was a kid.) And 2: As it is, Prince-centric TH-cam channels are chockful of people always bringing MJ up in conversation/discourse that's supposed to strictly be about Prince's work and legacy; I can't tell you how many times I see this in comment sections in the Prince community, and I also can't express enough to you how much it gets my goat by the gullet. Personally, I feel that the constant comparisons are an ultimate affront to what Prince represented in totality, and is largely resultant of race, at that. But it's not even about thost things as much as the importance of reserving our Prince-centric communities for Prince and Prince alone.
@vja1970 I know there's always gonna be a huge overlap with their fan bases, I'm just saying: When it's about Prince, can we not make it about Michael Jackson? That's all I'm asking.
A good thing, no doubt. Michael would've only set it up to make Prince look like the inferior artist. That was probably Mike's primary reason for wanting the collaboration, tbh. (Plus, Prince would have never lived 'Bad" down, as the song wasn't even his style; he would've looked kinda silly doing it.
To each his own,,everyone has there own opinion but before I begain I’ll tell you I love both artist/musicians but when you start to compare the two MJ is going to always win, I saw somebody comparing the two albums Bad & sign of the times, sign of the times was a great album for Prince since 1999/purple rain but for MJ Bad was his third classic album and I would like to say this album as far as sound didn’t sound like nothing that was out there it distinctively had its own sound musicly where as Madonna and Prince sound was what was going on during that time, Mike was ahead and if you compare these two albums you’ll see that the song sign of the times against man in the mirror does not beat man in the mirror, sign of the times spoke about the socio political issues in America and that was a great song, but Mikes man in the mirror went deeper and told us all to look in the mirror and make that change. Ballad of Dorthy Parker was Dope but I don’t think I could put that over Liberian girl, prince slow love is dope as hell but can somebody tell me how did MJ come up with a song like just can’t stop loving you and made it sound like what Motown sounded like back in the 60’s ? You put on house quake that’s real funky but just another part of me, smooth criminal and Bad is real funky as well except Mike had a message to tell, Prince has a song called u got the look 👀 that song doesn’t beat MJ the way you make me feel, Prince has a song called Hot thang, that won’t beat Dirty Diana like I said I love both these artist/musicians but when you compare the two Mike respectively is going to win both of these albums are great albums but bad had at least five number 1 hits I’m not taking anything from Prince but they were aiming for the same thing as artist/musicians
I was just listening to this whole album the other day. Fantastic and very nostalgic. But I will take Sign o The Times every day of the week ❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊
Same here! In fact, I've always said that Purple Rain is better than Thriller, and Sign O' the Times better than Bad, and I'll fight anybody about it.
HOW COOL 0:23 I THIBK ILL ENJOY THIS VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH AND GOD BLESS YOU FOR THE UPLOAD

MJ and Quincy s mistake was in wanting to do a duet.they should of asked Mr.Nelson to remix the club versions.
Dope takes!
I like them both, but for different reasons. They each had their own unique lanes.

Sussanah Melvoin was present when Prince re-recorded BAD.
She told the story long time ago.
Sheila made it up saying she was right there

Many Prince fams were/are MJ fans. Like you I was a massive MJ fan when I was younger. He was a music god to me , until I discovered Prince 😍
@vja1970 I know there's always gonna be a huge overlap with their fan bases, I'm just saying: When it's about Prince, can we not make it about Michael Jackson? That's all I'm asking.
DC better than Marvel ???????
a good thing or not
that they never teamed-up ?

i agree, setting Prince up. Like mike did calling Prince out on the James Brown show (1983-08-20)

M.J music is so juvenile and childish.
