Love Sign (Shock G's Silky Remix) 💜
So Dark is a real stand out on this disc. And I'm such a fan of Crystal Ball (the song). Thanks for all you do to feed the Prince love!
I was so disappointed when I bought this set in 1998. It was expensive. It didn't have the track listing on the back, so you didn't know what was on it (I didn't have the internet back then). 2 thirds of the album was recorded in the 90s and only 1 third was recorded in the 80s. I think everyone was assuming it would have been all 80s material. It shouldn't have been called Crystal Ball.
As a whole, I love Crystal Ball. Acknowledge Me is one of my favorite Prince songs. There's a live show recording where Prince performs this song and claims "its the best song he ever wrote" at that time
I absolutely love the whole Crystal Ball album, & disc 1 2 me is perfect. In my 🔝10.
I still have mixed feelings about this album. Anyway, the video for "Tell Me How You Wanna Be Done" is featured at the close of the video for "The Continental" which was released on vhs as "3 Chains O' Gold: The Video Collection." Of course, I still have this vhs tape!🤣✌️💜
So do I.
The UK price was around £60 to £70 for the 4cd set 😬
Some gems on this, but better released versions have come since. Was happy as a clam at the time, however.
What songs off this set have been re released? .Other than Crystal Ball (7" mix) & Crucial (Alternate Lyrics Version) on the SOTT SDE, which I would say are both inferior versions.
Am I the only person who actually paid for that plastic box in a retail music store with three discs inside? I thought I had won the lottery. And then I heard the music. I probably should have kept it, but at that point I was so sick of Prince and his BS that I sold it to a pawn shop for just about what I paid for it. The songs listed on the labels didn't match the songs on the discs (much less the labeling on the discs.) At that point in my life spending almost 75 bucks on this "collector's item" was my last straw. Of course I came around. I've been snapping up all the remastered, deluxe re-releases, spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on really good quality sounding material.
