Surprising so many people drive like this, throttle ON OFF ON OFF , never smooth. Imagine driving your 1:1 this way, not alot of control. Same with RCs, just smaller. Smooth drifts are SO much fun. Powering out past the apex the Xmaxx is a super star.
These hills are so steep you actually need momentum to make it up them witch is why this place is so fun

Xmaxx is just a total basher beast! I get the UDR doesn't have the control the XMaxx does and rolls. Once you get use to what the UDR can handle I found myself rolling the UDR far less. It will never hold the balance like the XMaxx but that's okay. A 6s vs 8s your going to see the difference! I bought mine for the detail and I absolutely love my Traxxas UDR!

I would love to drive my rc's out there. Some of those small trails look like they were cut into to hill by rc's alone. X maxx is a beast. Cool vid.

Nice! I have a couple Xmaxx's and more...would love to have that spot nearby. I chuckled when I saw the foot prints on the hill in between Xmaxx runs...I know how those got there ;) that would be the walk of shame. ;) Keep em coming dude...

Theres really no comparison bud, the UDR couldnt get passed the bottom of the first hill do to the sand witch is why i didnt add it to this video, it was just to hard to control

Great Video, I have an XMaxx, so may be a little biased, but the UDR really seems to have trouble staying on its feet. Suspect it has something to do either solid rear axel
It dose struggle on rough terrain, to me the UDR is really terrain specific it does good on hard loose surfaces like a maintained dirt road or a track

It is very stable with the proper setup. Gotta get some metal on it, and it'll have more stable slide characteristics.
I agree with you man, plus you really cant go wrong with an X-Maxx its just a blast to drive and tough it's still my favorite RC.
Nice video bud and try turning your steering rate down on the udr for the hill next time it seemed to want to veer off rather quickly when climbing and you turned idk just a thought anyhow Rc on!!!
What kind of batteries are you running in your Xmaxx 8s

Still great Job and, I think you have the same "problem", as I do regarding the throttling management... You use it like you run a Nitro car... yes, I've that problem... too many time on Nitros but... It Works very well; your cars are very powerful and it's kinda of a way (consciously or not) of controlling the power 🙂😉
The X-Maxx is an amazing truck man not to mention a beast lol, this UDR is 4wd it was just to sandy out there for that small of a tire it just made it hard to control. I do run nitro aswell which is were I get that habit from some what I'm also a fan of the monster truck grave digger and always liked Dennis Anderson's driving style which is an excellent way to keep really good momentum without losing control

Can someone tell me the difference between the 54t and 46t?
My 54t got grinded up when I was driving it then flipped it over.
In short The 46t spur will give you more top speed then your 54t, the reason i cheanged to the 46t is to mellow the wheels out a bit so it dosnt slam down on the wheelie bar every time i hit the throttle

The UDR looked great on the hill what happened to break the driveshaft nothing I saw looked like it would have caused the breakage. I went over to GPM their V1 and yep it broke 4S again I prefer running 4S I next got their V2 heavy duty shaft this time 6S and a lump of granite hidden in the sand ouch glad I had an alloy rear axle, upper links and trailing arms, so now running the MIP SuperShafty splined slider shaft, hopefully the last one I will need to buy plus re-buildable so wear and tear replacements are easy to get from the Supershafty site, did think that for the money that GPM would offer spares at the price of their V2 heavy duty shaft, the retaining spring was lost!! so the pin came out not before doing damage so a new pin could not be fitted.
Right on bud sounds like an awsome rig you have, ill definitely check out those drive shafts im running the MIPs on my summit they have been great so far. Thats the thing i didnt really do anything to break the drive shaft same as to my othere two rear shafts im not sure if the pins are just backing out or sharing off but it has been my biggest problem with the UDR so far.
@@fullthrottleobsessions Well today I broke a left front outer CV joint, it is a GPM product, swapped to these when the stock dogbone pins kept backing out and broke an inner cup, so now have one stock and one GPM and have ordered the ones Hot Racing produce with the CV joint both ends you swap out the diff cups to install them in so I have one stock that I have to keep tapping the pin back in and one GPM that may spit it's guts out from the outer bearing I have no idea how it happened, but will get the Hot Racing ones in the New Year so hope no breakages over the holidays. I have spare axle shafts and a spare stock centre rear drive shaft so you can guarantee they wont break, I have the Hot Racing front centre shaft and planetary gear carrier and a D Hawk rear billet planetary gear carrier along with TRAXXAS & GPM diff housings, cant be much left to break I must weigh it as it has a lot of alloy parts now, the list fills both sides of a A4 sheet of lined paper al but six lines.
The UDR needs some badlands for grip
I agree with you man it makes it a bit difficult to control sometimes, iv been thinking of getting the badlands for my xmaxx here soon aswell
X maxx is so awesome great video. Hey did you have your TSm turned off when driving the UDR. Seemed very squirrelly. I keep mine around 50, quite nice.
Thanks bud, i had the tsm on but the tires were just a little to small for the sand at the botton of the hills so it was hard to control

Don’t want to insult anyone but the person driving the UDR can’t control the power of the Rc at all, it’s like he doesn’t have a trigger him it’s a switch on/off
That’s why didn’t perform
Put paddles on the Maxx and it will walk up it from the bottom with no run up.

The UDR is a complete disaster uphill. Big win for the Xmaxx
It was man and really hard to control on this type of Terrain, the X-maxx handle it like a Cadillac though soaking up everything with ease
Maybe if he knew how to control the damn thing instead of just full throttle crashing it...
@@BigHock81 Maybe but still, its a big difference....I,m about to buy this week the Traxxas UDR, or the Losi baja rey. I love the looks of the udr but I think the Losi is better handling. can,t decide haha
Jean Marin I actually got the UDR for Christmas and I recommend it. It actually handles surprisingly well, it just soaks up all the bumps like nothing. That’s why I was surprised by this video of the guy just flogging it and crashing constantly.

I think the IDR is faster
It might be bud i never raced them side buy side, but the udr has a big disadvantage on putting the power down to the dirt compared to the xmaxx

This is not a comparison video in any way, if it was you realize this Terrain is completely in the x-maxx's favore right these two trucks are in different classes meant for completely different types of terrain
