I have a Galaxy Fold 6 and a Honor Magic V3. I have been rotating between the two phones and for some reason the Fold 6 battery lasts longer than the V3. With the exact same usage daily. I'm confused as to why as the Fold 6 has a smaller battery. With my usage at the end of the day, my Fold 6 has around 40% battery left and my V3.with the same usage is always in the low 20% near the end of the day. Very bizarre. Great vid as always. Just unboxed my magic V3 today, loving it so far. I ordered at 2pm dead on from the UK store so received the pen, power brick and B&O headphones with it. So far has been great, loving how thin it is, but being realistic I've slapped the case on it - the case feels super premium with the vegan leather feel on the back. Even with the case on it's still quite thin, i held it side by side an S24 with a case and it was still a tiny bit thinner (except for the camera bump) Camera is nice, for a moment I thought the colours were a bit dull, but then i realised how oversaturated other phones were (looking at you samsung) so enjoying the realistic hues. Hey Average, hope all is well. Thanks for the awesome part 2. I know you say you try and stay competitive with your prices etc. on your website. What's worse is that I had accumulated a fair amount of Honor points with the hope of getting the Honor Magic Pen with my points as I was confident it was going to retail on their website at some point. Turns out, you can only use your points to contribute to a max 10% discount of a product price.*
One HUGE point that you forgot to mention is that for some insane reason Google moved the wireless charging coil lower on the phone so it will not work with vertical wireless stands or it works very poorly without a booster to make the phone taller. Thus if you car has pre-built in factory wireless chargers like a Tesla it won't work correctly. This on top of the slow as hell charging speeds.
What about warranty support? Thats what is stopping me going for the V3 over the pixel. Never managed to get through to their online chat or get a reply to emails.
The one of two problem with overseas phones are warrenty and regional locks. Warrenty claims must be handled in the country of original purchase, and regional locks can only be unlocked by using the phone in for a little bit in the intended region. The seller who you ordered from will usually handle warrenty claims for you but you will have to ship your device over, wait for repairs and for it to be sent back. In that case, hope you have a backup phone
@BrianRamotar_1776 my recent warranty claim with Samsung also required me to ship the phone to them and wait 2 weeks for it to come back. That was UK phone to Samsung UK. Maybe apart from a few days longer wait, i dont imagine it will be that different for a UK phone from Honor UK.
Hi Average Dad, thank you for your videos. I understand the Pixel 9 Pro Fold just came out so you want to make content with it and compare it, and yes I do agree its a massive upgrade over its predecessor, but none of that changes the fact that the Pixel is not a leading competitor to the Magic V3 Global. Like how is 21W wired/7.5 wireless charging acceptable in 2024?! LOL……….. The conversation of the best foldable boils down to Honor Magic V3 Global vs. Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Global. What I’d love to see is: thin and light vs. better cameras, bigger battery, more RAM. Is the price premium of the Vivo worth it? Is the V3 thinness a game changer or is the Vivo thin enough but the size increase is worth it for the bigger battery and better cameras? Which one will be the first to offer trade-in deals? How are the speakers? How will the durability be over the long run, will they replace the inner screen protector if it lifts or cracks? Have you ever dropped it and which one has better durability against drops, and scratches? How is the experience if we had to service them, which company is better to deal with and has service centers or fast turnaround for repair via shipping? Which one works with more 5G bands and the different carriers? Is there a case for the Vivo that is thin but offers a kickstand to rival the V3? Is 12G Ram of the V3 Global enough, or is 16GB Ram of the Vivo result in better daily usability? That’s what I want to know. Until the One Plus Open 2 comes out, that one will wipe these all. Thank you.

One "good" thing about charging the P9PF is it actually works as advertised. On my OG Pixel Fold, I've maybe seen it hit 21W for a few minutes, but then it quickly dropped to 15-18W, whereas the 9 stays at 20-21W from 10-20% to about 70-80% and then starts to drop off slowly. But the location of the wireless coil is very annoying. I have 2 stands and a car cradle, and the new Fold doesn't charge in any of them unless I lift it up about a centimetre. Even the official Google Pixel Stand, a £65, 23W charger, doesn't support it. However, at least Google had the decency to take it off sale on their store and Amazon now; before you had to go to a support page to find out about the incompatibility.
If any one experienced that Honour UK supplied 66W super charger came separately with Magic V3 doesn't charge V3 faster. It takes about 2.5h to charge the phone from 0 to 100%. I am not sure if that charger is similar to AverageDad selling Global V3 which has a charger in the box and I guess that charges the phone much faster. I am not so sure.
Just got the Honor V3 its incredible! Waiting for my Pixel 9 Fold, it's going to be hard to beat this V3 though in my opinion! I do love the Google ecosystem though.
Hi there! Thank you for your review! A request. Could you review how these phones and other folding phones (e.g., galaxy fold 6) pair up with windows creating sort of an ecosystem? And wide as well! It is 77mm vs 74mm for the V3, but with the side hinge being so big, you dont even get the full benefit to the screen. That plus its additional 1mm thickness means that its harder to use one handed than the v3
Great video, in the US most phones especially American companies only charge to 18 to 21 w charging. Hey average dad, when will you do a review for the honor v purse phone, thinking that of getting one. I have the original pixel fold and want to see if it's an upgrade to my pixel fold.
Why does everyone say the pixel doesn't have floating windows? It's been there since the original fold it just needs enabling in developer settings. With battery charging if you keep charging at those insane rates it will kill the battery pretty quickly. All that being said there's a lot of hardware features Google has crapped out with
A lot of talk about software on the honor I'm quite a hard phone user and have switched from Samsung after over 10 years without issue don't be scarmongered away phones exceptional battery is crazy only thing I would fault on the V2 is the sound the speakers could be louder but not quiet or substandard
If its a China ROM you will have to install google services, unless its installed at the same time as the play store. They will usually do it for you before shipping the phone out
how did u get over 2m score on magic v3 in untutu 10 most reviewers get between 1300000 and 1500000 which is even worse than sd gen 2 in most phones please correct that
Is nobody else having the same issue with the camera unit rattling, even when simply moving the phone? I’ve seen this mentioned by ‘wired’ and on Reddit, but I can’t believe it’s not being more widely spoken about. I’ve had two 9 Pro Folds, both have been returned, the second a couple of hours ago. For an £1800 phone, it’s not acceptable that you should hear a rattle from the image stabiliser, or the camera or sensor every time you raise or move the phone. I’m gutted, as I really liked the phone. I have a Magic V3 instead, which I and planned to return, but this has proved to be far better than I had expected, in contrast to the fragile sounding 9 Pro Folds. Please tell me I’m not alone in this!?
dude!! do some research before making yourself look silly! the rattling is called OIS, it means the kens can move around in the camera to make videos more stable! only found in high end phones... rattling is good thing
Am I missing something. I have several phones, including iPhone 15 Pro with image stabilisation and none of them have this rattle. Even wired magazine have mentioned it. Do your research! We're not talking shaking the phone, simply moving it causes it to rattle.
The thing I interact with the most on any phone is the UI and for me that's still where the Samsung is leaps ahead of everyone else. Not just on folding phones. In general One UI is so polished these days. Although to be fair its taken a long time to get it to this level. The S24 is such a good phone in every way, except it doesn't fold. I hope you're able to get your hands on the Z Fold 6 Special edition as that could be the absolute sweet spot. Samsung UI, almost V3 levels of of hardware, S24 cameras. It could be an absolute beast, just not sure what Samsung are playing at limiting the market! Not sure what Google are playing at but their interface is shocking, I remember when stock android was the best by a mile but these days its lacking. Can't remove the google search. Wallpapers don't resize properly, just the basics aren't right. Its just a mess. I'm still not sure how Google are getting away with forcing their search on customers either. MS getting sued for IE back in the day but these phone companies get away with the same thing! I think the main benefit to the V3 is just the hardware. How they've physically done it is incredible but until that OS is better it'll always be a pass for me.
One UI is fine, but having been a One UI user since S10+ or S21 Ultra, perhaps ive been spoilt but it doesnt really do that much for me. Its still a mess of doubled up apps as standard. Tried a bit of pixel's ui on my wifes phone and it does feel smoother, if more basic. Looking forward to trying out Magic OS even if to realise that One UI was best after all ;)
@@k88kee Agreed it is very basic, and I don't mind that so much. Its just the little things that annoy me. I like my home screen central with stuff on the left and right. Home screen wallpapers just don't scale correctly. I could run a different launcher but I'd rather not and I don't think A15 is really addressing any general UI stuff. The Pixel hardware is quite nice to be fair. I've tried Magic, all be it not on a global rom and I wasn't keen. It can do everything all the rest can do but never felt quite as smooth or as polished. I'd like to try a Global one to give it a fair hearing but I don't think its much different.
Wow so the Google got a bit of a spanking in this video. I must agree with you the Tensor Chipset is not the best on performance. When Samsung did their stupidness of giving Europe the xenyos chip and the rest of the world the snapdragon I was fuming because people were getting identical devices and identical prices but a lesser performing phone.
The weight of the Samsung is great and it's one handed form factor. But Yes not much for so much money. The Pixel Fold 9 is too heavy. What is getting the most use is the RAZR 50 Ultra. This thing has become my day to day. It's always there without one noticing and when you need to spring into action it is just so great (inner and external screen). Cameras are Ok but would not be considering close to what Samsung or Pixel can offer
The pixel fold 9 pro is a bit sluggish when it comes to social media compared to that of the z fold 6 and the colors just aren't as vibrant 😢. I want to love it but this might be returned
@@photorom3419 hasn't been my experience with it, I've been loving it & coming from iPhone it's actually been relatively easy! Much prefer the pixel software over Samsung's one UI. Multitasking could be a bit better but no real complaints here

Why is that? Serious question. Glad i found this store. I trust to ship to US.
Why does everyone say the pixel doesn't have floating windows? It's been there since the original fold it just needs enabling in developer settings.
With battery charging if you keep charging at those insane rates it will kill the battery pretty quickly.
All that being said there's a lot of hardware features Google has crapped out with
I was considering getting CN vivo x fold 3 pro but i think its better to have global version magic v3. It will be my first foldable
Does the Honor Magic 3 work on the US At&t network?
I see the answer is yes. Reported by many users
A lot of talk about software on the honor I'm quite a hard phone user and have switched from Samsung after over 10 years without issue don't be scarmongered away phones exceptional battery is crazy only thing I would fault on the V2 is the sound the speakers could be louder but not quiet or substandard
Does the magic v3 have uwb ? And does google pay work (nfc payments) ?
Yes it does
@@mohdaskarhang, the V3 doesn't have UWB
Re Honor, are any Google services missing or limited? I'm looking at Pay, Photos, Home, Gemini / Assistance, Maps, Messages, etc. Thanks in advance!
If its a China ROM you will have to install google services, unless its installed at the same time as the play store. They will usually do it for you before shipping the phone out
If global rom all apps working great and nothing missing.
Hi AverageDad. In your opinion is China rom better then global rom?
no
@@AverageDadOfficial if you're going to choose would you prefer the global rom?
how did u get over 2m score on magic v3 in untutu 10 most reviewers get between 1300000 and 1500000 which is even worse than sd gen 2 in most phones please correct that
Set the v3 to performance mode
I have the Honor Magic V3, it also has OIS, it doesn't rattle? Do I need to wear some sort of Google blinkers so i don't notice the noise?😂
Let's goo been waiting for this
I went from the S24 Ultra to the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but I personally don't think the battery life is any better on the S24 Ultra. The are about the same
How you like the pixel over the 9 pro xl
That 7.5 wireless charging is just laughable.. Haha, it's almost the same as others give reversable charging 😅😅😅
Wouldn't say its leaps ahead. One plus is damn close in foldable software to one UI. For slabs it'd subjective really I prefer pixel UI over one UI
So far for me Vivo x fold 3 pro is the winner in 2024, especially now with fully operational Android auto and best price for its characteristics
Really good video.
Thanks!
happy 30k subs!!! OnePlus Open Apex!
Thanks!
Honor Magic V3,give it to me😂😂
Thnx😢
The pixel fold 9 pro is a bit sluggish when it comes to social media compared to that of the z fold 6 and the colors just aren't as vibrant 😢. I want to love it but this might be returned
Doesn't feel sluggish at all to me & can't stand the overly saturated look of Samsung's phones and cameras but just my opinion in that regard
@@tdwp909 not sluggish at all. Excellent phone, so glad I ditched my Fold6
@@tdwp909 not sure if it's a bad one but it doesn't feel optimized properly feels like it's a unfinished product
@@photorom3419 hasn't been my experience with it, I've been loving it & coming from iPhone it's actually been relatively easy! Much prefer the pixel software over Samsung's one UI. Multitasking could be a bit better but no real complaints here
@@peterheemskerk3182 yea its been a great experience so far for me too!
That pixel wireless charging is a joke, I mean you can barely get any juice during shit shower and shave lol. Feels like they just put it so they can say they have wireless charging. Well there is room to improve for next years version.
OnePlus open seems better than Google's lol
It is a great phone. It was by gateway to feel comfortable buying honor v3 in US. Im sure it will take me a minute to figure out magic. But just a minute.
both are great
U r 1 of the best keep doing
I waiting ur vid. Every day
