Michael Fisher, you're not just a tech TH-camr - you're a true storyteller. I've been watching your videos for a long time, and I love the way you review products through stories. It brings such a unique perspective that keeps me coming back for more. Please keep doing what you do.
I love to watch the videos even when I know that I'm not interested in the phone because they are so well made and great to watch. And on the other hand, when I'm interested in the phone MrMobile is one of the view reviewers on TH-cam who actually say what's bad with a new phone. Otherwise we only have fan boys (and girls)
The phone is great. Glorifying Samsung's software to make up for the old bulky design is nonsense to me. I had all Samsung folds , even 6 and magic v2 and now v3. V3 has great software really. I haven't e countered any bugs within 2 months I had it. Also the hardware is years better than Samsung's.
Blown away by those portrait shots. They have that artistic feel to it that does not feel like a phone photo. The skin tones, the background seperation, the bokeh feels just right. I'm also blown away by the video's colors and dynamic range. What incredible set of cameras.
In Saudi Arabia, there is full support for the device and it is considered the global version and works smoothly, but it remains behind the Samsung Fold in terms of software and application handling of the large screen.
As someone who worked on the (periphery of the) development of the "silicon-carbon" battery, it's so exciting to see the technology showing up in consumer devices! (I helped develop techniques used to characterize the material. This is important so that the batteries behave in a uniform fashion!)
I only watch one mobile tech channel... I come for the news and stay for the honesty, the quality and the transparency. Keep up the good work, and as always stay mobile!
I still enjoy my Magic V2. It still grabs attention as i use it, flipping from candy bar to tablet. More importantly, I love using the thing. Honor already won the hardware war. The software does not offend me, and I am more than happy working with it.
I agree 100%. I've got a global V2 here in the US and I want for nothing. I see the Z Fold 6, Pixel Fold 9 Pro, and Galaxy Fold SE, to which I say "meh". All heavier and thicker than my V2 and I really like Magic OS thanks to all of the floating windows. I dumped a ton of sand into my V2 a few months ago, washed it out, and all good despite no IP rating. Loooove my V2

Your channel has such a nice charm and I'm just a big fan of it ^^ 2:00 4k + that lens just looks so gorgeous! look how clear his hair looks! 3:47 what a lovely shot. the 60 fps really makes it so smooth and mesmerising. especially the whole soft pastel tone of the shot
I bought my magic v3, 3 weeks ago. (coming from S22 ultra.) and I LOVE it. The software does have more to be desired and some growing pains. But my god, when this phone shines it really does wow me. I'm based in Northern Ireland (UK) And the phone has no problem working here. The camera system is outstanding, especially at night time. And the multi-tasking is amazing. I would highly recommend the phone, if you're country / region supports it. I do miss the s-pen at times and some software from Samsung thay I really miss. (samsung calendar mainly). But I still love the phone.
MagicOS 9 is coming super soon too and it looks amazing, and looks like it fixes practically everything wrong with MagicOS now. Signups for the beta are already available in the UK (whereas signups for the MagicOS 8 betas didn't come until March this year) so I hope it's stable and released by Christmas.
The most intriguing thing about this phone for me the Si-C battery and the battery tech. We are finally seeing new battery tech come to the mainstream.

I have been using the Magic V3 since September (global version). My first foldable phone. I must say so far it is not too bad. Hardware is really good. It works like a normal phone when folded. I had been using Samsung phone for 12 years and moving over to Honor, I realised that their software isn't as polished. Samsung throws in tons of features and customisation. While I do not expect Honor to do the same, I wished some features could be present in their OS. Besides I am not sure why many Chinese brands love to copy IOS in terms of its design. I hope Honor is able to improve their software in the future. It has great hardware. Just the software needs improvement.
I am really impressed with the Portrait mode, I don't normally take portrait photos, but those looked good, and don't just mean technically, they felt natural at times.
Surprised you haven't covered the Vivo X Fold 3 +Pro! For your into the fold series, I think that plus the Mate XT triple fold would be perfect to cover to see just how far the foldable market has come globally.
@@blaster915 tho wait, he said that he's going on a roadtrip with a foldable, but the only foldable left that he hasnt reviewed thats sold in India is the X Fold3 Pro....
I've had mine a week, it's an absolute delight to use. Much faster than my iPhone 14 pro which surprises me, it's super sharp, has the eye comfort display too. Can't recommend it enough so far. Switching from iOS to MagicOS has been fine. Only thing I miss is airdrop. UK user here.
For me, all things considered, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Global with Funtouch OS is still the best Fold. The hardware is great! Very good cameras, huge battery that charges quickly, and the software doesn't have the problems of Honor. The connection to my Garmin watch also works perfectly and there are no Chinese apps or bad translations! It is also easy to order from eBay in India. It is slightly thicker than the Honor, but the crease is less visible and the inner display is over 8" large. I have been using it for 4 months now and am very happy with it! And I would also like to mention that Vivo has already updated to Android 15! 😉
I just got my v3 magic yesterday in the UK. Love it so far, I haven't encountered any issues you mentioned. So updates seem to fix those problems. Camera is insane and quick. Some apps can be glitchy, but that's a trade off I can live with.
being using honor v3 for 3month now, and comming from a z fold 4 then a iPhone 15 pro. I really dont find the software that terrible. I actually find it quite good and fluid. Really like this phone
I switched from fold 4 to the v3 global edition and i love it. Im not a fan of the camera's always on ai aggressive processing (even with the function turned off) but that is my only software/os gripe. It is a stunning phone to look at, hold and use. Not forgetting the fast wired and wireless charging than got missed from this otherwise excellent review video
Im watching this on my honor magic V3 honestly as a first foldable for me coming from the S22 Ultra this is a good phone and i like it comes with a case out of the box
Switched from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, pretty much spot on, amazing cameras, preferred over the Pixel, front screen and thinness has literally changed everything you knew about a fold, software is good enough but still getting better. Overall I'm keeping this. Its absolutely the reason why I've supported the evolution of foldables.
I've got an Honor Magic V2 in the US. Honor makes exceptional foldables. Magic OS 8 is so much better than last years, it's shocking. The way to fix all of these bugs? Uninstall all of the built in apps and use all Google apps. My notifications and wearables work perfect, not sure why you're having issues. Thanks for the video.
I used Huawei P30 between 2019-2023. They reviewers said the software wasn't the best. I agree but it wasn't bad and I would say it was good enough for me. Charging was great, battery as well, and cameras way ahead of competitors. Now, Honor is not exactly Huawei but I can't imagine V3 2024 software to be worse than my 2019 Huawei.( My Pixel 6 Pro software keeps playing games with me and it can be frustrating but overall I enjoy using it).
i almost capitulated after getting my v3 - i thought the software was below par - almost gotrid - then spent 2 days figuring out how the phone works and have fallen in love with the phone. Thanks for your reviews
Could've been actually - the honor v20 was the earliest I can recall but now you say. Glad you've said that, I've never seen that. Apple does copy a lot of it's newer features from honor or Huawei now though
This year, I decided it was time to upgrade my devices. I don’t do it often-maybe once every few years. I got myself a Redmi Pad Pro 2024 and the Honor X14 Plus 2024 laptop with a Ryzen 7 8845HS. (Why do they insist on naming models by the year instead of giving them a unique name or number? 😂) Now, I’ve started thinking about a new phone since my Redmi Note 10 Pro isn’t even getting updates anymore. But after checking the prices, I realized I might have started from the wrong end! Turns out, phones are more expensive than laptops or tablets now! For example, the laptop cost me about 800 euros with shipping, but for a similar Magic V3, I'd have to shell out 1800 euros... I don’t think I’m quite ready for this “new tech.” I might just stick with the idea of a Pixel or maybe another Redmi.
Hm, i preordered it and i never lost conection with my watch and never lost a notification, ive heard that only chinesse version has the notification problem.
Yes, concluding based on a Chinese ROM, if this is not the global version is unfair, and disappointing as I have none of these issues. The hardware is the best, and the software is great (V2 user).
I didn't know that the software issues are so many despite exceptional hardware. That goes to show that you must never focus on one subject alone and ignore another part of a whole package
I have had the V3 for 3 months after ditching Samsung fold 5 and I will never go back, I can't believe the weight difference in this fold, so much easier to carry and hold, nothing disappoints me and I hope they keep improving on this awesome technology. Good bye Samsung!

Honestly this phone is so good I'm super worried it will not last long. I mean surely something must be bad under all this goodness. Hopefully when it shows up it won't be a hardware issue but just some software bug.
MrMobile real n.1 talking about folding phones: the first I saw (among big TH-camrs) speaking of Honor poor software. I have a V2 and often it's frustrating
Only issue i have with my v3 is the delayed notifications. Sometimes they come through immediately and sometimes my emails take 45 mins to notify me. Really hoping they fix this issue. Its the only thing holding the phone back,.

@@leeharris7415 i use WhatsApp a lot and for iOS, press and hold a chat/text you can easily copy and a simple swipe can see the information. The auto entry for OTP doesn’t always work on the V3. And the one I miss the most is the touch the top part of the screen to scroll all the way back up to the top. Or maybe just haven’t figure it out on Android yet 🤷🏽♂️
I find the folding phones so nice, but my Fold3 just became an expensive paperweight since the wifi doesn't work anymore.. 2 Months after warranty runs out (apparently a common problem with the hinge wearing out). Not sure if i will buy another one.
I got the magic v3 but still worth watching the review here, i love the phone but my only slight downside was the lack of the colour palette but being android there are workarounds, oh and the notifications not showing on time for some apps is annoying especially coming from an iphone
The software isn't that bad. Never had issues with notifications and you can swap the default apps to Google or third party ones to get a great experience (Photos instead of gallery, Google Dialer, Google Keep, etc.)
He is using a Chinese model outside China. I use a UK-released phone, and the software is fine, enough for all but the very picky fold users. He is over egging it and should use the Global version for a final conclusion.
@@maddada It's strange, then, as I have no issues with my V2. Notifications are better than those on my Pixel Fold, which seems to go to sleep and only notify me when I wake the device, which is annoying-likely to save battery.
@@andyH_England depends on the app, on Honor sometimes you have to fix the app in these 2 places in settings: "App launch" (set to manual and enable the 3 toggles + "Battery Optimization" (set to not allowed)

My first Android phone since the smartphone era. Been using iPhone since 2009. Loving my Magic V3 though I miss some features from iOS.
Can I ask what you miss, as I’m very close to switching from IOS to the V3, just hesitate to hit the button 😊
Or maybe just haven’t figure it out on Android yet 🤷🏽♂️
man, do i wish the magic fold was officially sold in usa, it would give the other big oems some sweat.
Great wallpaper. Can you please share the link?
Great video as always.
wait!? you are coming to India?? 😁😁 Please share a few more deets like when and where!? As a subscriber since day would love to meet you in person!
Excellent as always.
great review!!
Honor is promising, the magic pro are awesome! *No compensations but free vacations in hawai and some extras not bad!
The software situation in Honor's stable has always stopped me in my tracks from buying the Magic V2 and V3. would adding a custom launcher solve it?
The software isn't that bad. Never had issues with notifications and you can swap the default apps to Google or third party ones to get a great experience (Photos instead of gallery, Google Dialer, Google Keep, etc.)
He is using a Chinese model outside China. I use a UK-released phone, and the software is fine, enough for all but the very picky fold users. He is over egging it and should use the Global version for a final conclusion.
@@andyH_England I'm pretty sure he's using the Global version for the Magic V3.
My favorite phone ever
That is a good looking phone! And I like the included case. If the software looked better and it was in the 🇺🇸 market.
Also, as always, your videos are amazingly put together on so many levels.
@@HB-vf1mi software is getting better. I have no bugs on my Honor 200 Pro
The camera 🔥🔥🔥
Omg those photos are amazing 🤩 come on Apple, Pixel, & Samsung wtf 😒
