  • This is a short photos video on how to clear a Haier Washing Machine pump. It is very difficult to find a service manual for these machines. The machine maybe branded Haier, Aspire, Daewoo or even some other branding. This video may not help everybody.

    Wonderfully straightforward instructional video. Probably takes a bit more time to type out instructions that are logical than to burble on and on for 20 minutes while you are doing the job, so well done. One of the best videos, and yes, it was a hairclip!

    Thanks. Your straight forward instructions (mine is an older model with a different looking pump) gave me the confidence to have a go. Pump was fine but through the process of getting to that step a lot of small bits of gunk came out. I put it back together and it's going fine. I impressed the wife, too!

    Thank you! My pump wasn't blocked but the bracket had snapped off, and I think it had dislodged one of the wires, because when I put it back together again with a makeshift bracket it worked like a charm AND it no longer knocks on spin (must have been the loose pump). THANK YOU. And FWIW I much prefer this slideshow format to an actual video, because there are very clear steps and instructions written on screen, so I could pause the video in between steps and still reference it. So that worked just perfectly, for me anyway :) cheers mate

After my ex aunt inlaw used my washing machine and way over filled out of spite, have had nothing but issues with it making a loud knocking sound and not cleaning everything properly leaving behind heaps lint...now it won't drain and stuck saying e1 time to drag it outside to find out

    Hi Paul, I just want to say thank you for this really helpful video. My machine is a Haier, and had a slightly different configuration, but I was able to adapt your instructions and remove the metal hair grip from the pump. Very satisfying achievement for an old woman! Especially when professional help was more than two weeks away. Thank you most sincerely, and please keep doing these because you obviously have a talent for it❤. And fyi the manufacturers repair video was absolutely pathetic by comparison and comprised only looking down the outflow tube for an obstructive item. Five stars to you!!

You could have flooded your entire house and broken your machine. Your best bet is to let your husband worry about this stuff and you focus on using it to keep the clothes clean.

    Awesome video thanks! Pipes and drain pump are clear, but still noisy when recirculating water so think it might be an issue with the main pump-do you have a video for removing and checking this? And is it difficult to do?

    • @paulywooly
      @paulywooly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry this is the only video for the pump for this machine that I have. This model only has one pump and that is the drain pump. Maybe yours has a separate recirculation pump which I can't help, sorry. If so, It should be obvious somewhere inside the machine. Maybe it can be pulled apart also. Do you have a model number so I can look in a service manual

      @bronwynwallace8079 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulywooly eeesh just had another look, and I think what I was assuming was another pump is actually the transmission etc beneath the drum... Do you know if this is this easy enough to remove? (the belt looks intact so have ruled that out for being worn and causing the noise)
      Model is HWMP55-918

    • @bronwynwallace8079
      @bronwynwallace8079 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or is it likely to still be the drain pump making the noise and just better to replace that? The white "fan" component of the drain pump was clear of debris, and I could turn it with my finger easily, however it didn't continue spinning if I flicked it-not sure if this is normal or worn...

      Did you split the pump apart? This is at 1.20 min . Or maybe it's the motor itself. I found bits of crap inside the motor before. Pull the motor out of the casing( with a bit of effort ) and see if it's clean inside

    • @paulywooly
      @paulywooly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be a faulty pump. Did you split the pump in half like in the video? The motor can be getting jammed inside the motor itself. Try pulling the shaft right out of the casing and give it a clean up

    • @R1PUUP
      @R1PUUP 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paul P thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. Yes I did split the pump but was only looking for debris for it to be blocked like hair pin. I turned the prop in the pump and it felt sticky, If that makes sense so it could be that. I’ll pull the shaft out Thai time and see what I can find.

    • @paulywooly
      @paulywooly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      E4 is a water inlet blockage or water is filling too slow. Undo the water hose and check the filters. Sometimes there can be 3. One at each end of the hose and one in the water inlet valve. The one inside the valve needs pliers to remove. If filters are clean then could mean the inlet valve is faulty or jammed shut.
