- In this video, I show the easy, maybe best way to remove a tire from a wheel or rim at home, with no special tools. This is seriously the easiest way to take the tire off.

I use the trailer hitch on the back of my SUV. Set the tire down along the receiver's centerline, throw a scissor jack between the receiver hitch and the tire and start cranking. The jack's base is almost a copy of a tire store's presser foot. Works great too.
Clever way of doing it mate.
Also, shoutout to the car at 3:13 for not running the stop sign
He/She has only to close the door right 😂😂😂 that's why.
Thanks for helping convert my old saab weels into w e e d m o n e y.
Lmao
I'm trying to di the same rn 😅

😆🤦♂️
Get a job maybe?
Great video. Thank you. Not the best angle but still very helpful. 👍🏻
Well done!
I tried it on two 23 year big and OLD trailer tires and it did not quite get it (practically welded to the rim amazing as that sounds), so ended up using a farm jack as a clamp. I think your technique helped a lot and got it started.
Cool. Glad it helped.
Very helpful. Thanks
Thanks for the vid, from 🏴
omg!! that's the smart as* cowboy I want to see on YT every time
Great! I've been commissioned to help my husband do this later today. I'll be back on here with more good comments if it works!
Good luck!
board and truck was a really good idea, thank you
Oh wow!! Lol I'm definitely trying that!!
thank you for the video
You’re welcome
Great video! Thanks.
Thanks!
How about using a c-clamp to break the bond? 😊
Bravo !!
Thank you !
Incredible..
Hey 👋 that was cool
Thanks
KOOL!!!! THANKS
Thanks for letting me know this is not a DIY job.
The amount of time it takes to do one tire (not to mention four) is not a good investment unless it’s just for fun.
Depends how hard up you are, I guess
that part... let me go spend this $30 at the tire shop 🙄
Its 100 here in Canada.
is there a reason why everyone uses the font (visible side of the rim to take the tire off - can you not do it opposite way and remove from the backside incase you visual scratch or nick the rim?
In the case of your life depends on the tyre - no questions. But IRL side effects of such a procedure aren't worthy the result. Which side effects? One may damage bumper of the car (if wood stick slides), may damage cabin if wheel jumps at the last moment, may scratch the rim, using metal tools for removing tyre. It's 21st centure! I used this way back in 1993, when I was a 15 yo boy and we didn't have tyre service in my town. The method is functional, but it is using tools, it is dangerous and dirty.
But respect to the author for reminding.
Okay so what I learned from this is that it's worth my time to just go to Discount Tire and ask them to pop my tires off 😂
Old tire jack is this best ways came with cars in the 60s and 70s. What your doing does not always work back side of tire with raise up on ground depending how old long the tire has been on steel wheel mags are easier to break loose they want rust
well that beads the angle grinder method
no in all honesty, that is genius - i got a lot of junk wheels and i gotta get the tires off. thanks :D
I made beadbreaker out two bladed (axe) very dull
How do I make sure I'm not damaging my chrome wheels while doing this?
I didn’t say it was the best way, only that it was an easy way.
Put a piece of plywood under the wheel.
I’ve not tried this. But maybe you could get a length of rubber hose and put a slice in it lengthwise so that you can slip it over the rim to protect it. A thicker hose would obviously be better.
tape some foam around your prybar where it contacts the rim
U do that to the tire and what does it break sir?
Doesn’t break anything. I wouldn’t do it to a good tire.
I've had the tire flip up and hit my vehicle....tires are always a battle...
When I remove the tyre, is it possible to put it into a new wheel? Like, does this removal technique damage the tyre??
I’d not recommend doing it with a good tire, and I’ve never tried putting one back on like this. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Years go that would not had worked we tried it lol. Steel wheels loves to rust against bead of the old bias tires lol
I have 3 tires I need the rims to come off
I have 6 tires got to get these rims out
I wan see you put it back on
Soooo if i take off a tire using this technique wouldnt it damage the tire and make it un usable?
Probably, but the video isn’t called, the easiest way to remove, save and reinstall a good tire.
Do you have to remove the valve core?
If most of the air is out, I doubt it. This isn’t exactly surgical. Lol.
yes. the answer is yes. unless you want to blow up your tire.
I paid the tire shop or walmart 25buck to take out tire and put in new for just 1 tire.
Now how do we get it back on
The only way to remove tires.while the tire is compressed stick your sawzall in and cut it across.
I want to try this: I have 14 year old tires on rims that no shop will remove, and I have to pay to dispose of. If I remove the tires, maybe i can sell the rims.
Good luck!
Be real careful using that technique of driving up on a 4 by 4.... Every now and then the wheel will flip up and slap your fender, potentially causing $hundreds of damage.
Saws all would do it in 30 seconds
doesn't cut through the bead. need an angle grinder for that.
SMH...
Bruh
Doesn’t work
Life hack: do away with the board and wedge the tire under your front rolling tire
my tire would not come off no matter how hard i pried 😡😡😡 so fgd tight! had to take it to a tire shop.
Bummer. Sorry it didn’t work.
it's a lot of work and surprise the tire need balance
Holly cow,ya saved $5. per tire
Agreed!! $5 is $5, money doesn’t grow on trees! I have 2 tires to take off the rims- that’s $10 toward something other than paying someone to do a task could have done with a simple 4x4;)
Don't know where you live that this is only $5, but in the northeast a tire mount costs $15-$30 per tire.
@@roberth9188 Or you could work an extra hour, earn way more than $10 and then pay a shop $10 to take this headache off your hands. Money doesn't grow on trees, but your time/life on this planet is not infinite.
Maybe 10 yrs ago!! Not to mention driving to where the tire store is nor if you can get to said tire store....
Dont work ! Tire doesn’t just pop off. You cut yours maybe
Nope. Worked for me.
remove the valve core, otherwise the tire stays pressurized and will probably explode at the sidewall instead of allowing the bead to be pushed down.
Just a few complaints about your technique... first things first you need to explain to people that you should place the rim front facing down on an old piece of carpet or something similar as to not scratch the front facing side surface of the rim... then explain that facing the rim front faced down means that you'll be removing the tire from the backside of the rim using hand tools that could very possibly damage the front facing surface causing irreparable damage... so next time remove the tire from the rim especially if they are anything but steel with hubcaps or unless your absolutely not concerned about damaging your front facing rim causing damage that can't be repaired thus not saving you any money let alone $5-$15 per tire is not worth the effort or the money if damage to the rim happens during removal/replacement of the new/old tires... great job otherwise but details matter... thanks for posting next time front rim facing down on an old piece of plush carpet or similar material would be best...
If the person is so stupid as to drop their rim face down on the concrete...well they just need a bus pass.
