If you have a hard time getting the bead to set, take a ratchet strap around the tread of the tire, not across the rim, literally only on the tread all the way around and tighten it up until the sidewalks blow out then add air
2 things . 1 buy and use tires spoons ($20 - $25).for set of 2 ea. And 2 cut open a couple used oil containers, milk gugs, or other type of plastic container. Use those cut plastic sheets to wedge between your spoon/rim while you work the tire onto rim. Doing this will protect the rim edge from being scratched while mounting the tire. Reposition the plastic sheets and spoons as need until the tires is completely on rim. This is how the mototcycle racers do it when at the race track, takes 5 min. Dont forget the balancing of them once done... cheers.

I drive a lifted 4x4 diesel and I have never been able to get away with not balancing my tires. But on that note, good job though always nice to save a few dollars when you can.
All standard tire psi is between 30-35 psi you can drive on 40 but anything more than 35 WILL wear out the center of the tire faster and you'll have an uneven wear around 35psi your tires will wear evenly unless you drive a small car then 30 psi will be perfect! Do not ride on 45 psi with a small car otherwise you'll have a rough ride and pre mature worn tires but do what you want it's your own tires wearing lol just standard practice automotive certified info is all 🤷♂️😎🤙💯🔥
Its so easy to destroy the bead on the tire that way! I have done a ton of tires like this, but with tire irons that come with cars in the trunk with the spare tire. I have ruined a few good tires too!
You are soaping the wrong side of the tire bead when installing the front of the tire on the front of the wheel. Put the soapy water on the under side of the bead that's where its contacting the rim and it will slip on much easier.
I’m watching this because the tire shop said they don’t have a big enough machine but I remember watching people install them manually when I was a kid Poor rim tho
$5-10/ wheel at any auto shop or get balancing beads you put inside of the tire... Not entirely sure how they work, but apparently they work really well if the correct amount is added. They're like little BB's you put inside of the tire when mounting.

wow, I have never thought that it's possible without machine. Amazing!

Can we get a close up of the lip so we can see how much damage was done during this process?

Thanks for showing the part where to place the tire in position to the rim to be able mount the tire
Nice Rim job bro!
Lol thx

On todays episode of how to f**k up the lip of your wheel!
how so ?

Just like changing a bicycle tire when I was a kid.
Tires are way too narrow for the rim
I'm surprised you ignored the red marking on tire.
Great VIDEO MY GEE, NICE AND SIMPLE!
WHEN I DO MINES IM GONA DUCT TAPE THE SCREW DRIVERS AS TO NOT DAMAGE RIM..

“Doing this in real time!” Proceeds to speed up and make cuts in the video
It was pretty much real time, just didn't wanna make the video extremely boring .
Your taking a big chance on damaging that rim.
His rim his cares not for your input
@@rockfordhx2768 thanks for your uneducated commet.
How? Cause rubber damages rims😂😂
I dont know why I'm answering this, but spend 65 years in the automotive repair business then you'll see how.
@@billsomerset238 how does a tire machine put any less leverage on the rim?
Don't you need to balance the tires?
what about balance and rotation.
This is what i was thinking but i wonder if it would be cheaper to get that done vs the cost of having a shop put new tires on all 4 rims

What about 30 and 35 series?
Harbor freight sells a tire balancer for $100. It actually works
Will those fit a 6x4.5 lug pattern?
No
Does the flat heads not scratch the rim tho?
They did.
Nice job !
Thx
I'm just going to pay the $25 per rim 😂😂😂😂
It must be nice to be a rich white republican Trump supporter to be able to afford that luxury. You people don’t even pay your fair share
Was gonna say the exact same thing gang
By me it's 20$ a rim and 60$ a tire I'll save myself the trouble 😂😂

FANTASTIC! Great video. Thank you
Washing up soap in a spray bottle would be a plus.
I use tallow but you have to pay a bit more.
Try doing tht with a 18" and up u want be able to do it
What are you talking about
I mount 22 and 24 inch semi tires all the time with 2 bars. Take me 2 seconds
What a rim job.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
You bet!
I’m watching this because the tire shop said they don’t have a big enough machine but I remember watching people install them manually when I was a kid
Poor rim tho
Put the electrical tape on the screwdrivers before you start to save your rim.
You should do it with the wheel face down. That way you only risk scratching the back of it!..
Unfortunately tires can only be mounted from the front.
Awesome! Now show me how to remove it 😂
I guess I will eventually
Tie down strap and 3ton Jack. Just watch the video
Where is wheel balance
He reckons it´s over rated.. 😆

@34979Charlie at about 8:20 he says balancing is "in his opinion a bit over rated" lol
A cheap set of 16 inch tire irons would work way better than screw drivers
I can only find 24inch is that ok?
@@LadyVSC13 thats even better. More leverage 👍
@@GoBart454 sweet ty soooooo much for the info!!!
it's easier to start with the inside because the rim is more rounded...
What about yhe valve stem tho
I have a separate valve stem video
So if I do these one at a time same tire same side do I want to balance them
Really should us a tire bar.. this sucks no matter how you do it without a machine
Width of tire too small for rim looks, silly
Thanks TH-cam
Now try it on a real tire instead of that O-ring you call a tire.
Easier with bigger sidewall actually
Not every tire will work this way.
Two long ass pry bars would work better if you don't give a shit. Just start at one point and work it around on the last step and walk em
it HAD to be a VW guy fucking christ makes sense lmfao
Damage done
Bye bye rim
Imagine a thin wall tire
This is ridiculous.
