      Ha ha, yes it certainly was one of the best interviews I've seen! That's what I was eluding to in my other comment as well, but it probably didn't come across very well as Mark's. 👍

    Great Video! I built a SuperStol XL with Billy in his builder assist program. 3 and a half months later I was flying it home! If you are looking for a Just Aircraft then look no further then Billy Payne.

    Do I need to make an appointment to come by? I'm about an hour away. Full LE slats? Nice. Did I see an oleo gear too? Lovin' it. Smoky Mountains ain't the most forgiving places to fly or land in the world.

    Great, Great video. The info you provided was very informative. Would a used STOL aircraft be better for 1st time buyers or try and build one? The whole project would be a learning experience.
    Thanks,

      It depends on your background. If you are mechanical and have an interest in airplanes then building is a great way to know your airplane. If you are simply interested in flying and don't get a kick out of flying then just tackling the learning curve on flying may be enough for you. Either program, learning to fly or building an airplane of your own will likely take a couple years . . . unless you hook up with someone like Billy Payne at Plane Fun Aircraft who can assist you in building a Just aircraft and cut your build time substantially. When you weigh out the alternatives, Billy's assist program is pretty cheap.

      Not as tough as it looks, the wing struts are behind the entry instead of in the middle of it or in front of it. It makes a big difference. It's nothing like trying to get to the front seat of a Cub.

    Hey Capt. My name is Danny Stockdaile, Retired USAF, would like to know what is the least dollars it would cost me to get license to fly a STOL aircraft.

    • @TangoSierra2022
      @TangoSierra2022  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have an answer for you. Flight training programs vary widely. If you are interested in learning STOL techniques I would again say you should probably contact Billy Payne in NC. He does STOL specific training. This would allow you to become familiar with basic flying techniques and requirements as well as becoming familiar with taildragger and off field operations.
