I have seen rust in a tank many times in w140s. It is very hard and costly to remove all rust in it. and you won’t able remove all of it. It will clog up new fuel pump again. it’s easier, cheaper and better to just replace the tank with good used one.
Yup exactly what I mentioned in the video and agree. But I love challenges and have a couple cars that I’m working on the same issue with and only one tank as a back up. I know it’s possible to clean them out because I’ve done it with other tanks, but it is a lot of work.
Hey Pete I had that same vibration at that same speed the problem was a stuck front brake the caliper I don't know if that's a problem you have but that's a problem that I had
If the fuel tank is easily accessible and removable I would have pulled it, dropped a chain it, and shake the shit out of it to remove any loose debris then pressure washed it out.

That could make sense. I did the brakes recently and I had a feeling they were sticking originally. I may need to pull them apart. Thanks for heads up

Hey did you change the fuel tank strainer in your tank? I have a 92 600 sel and need a strainer. Very hard to find part # 129-470-02-05. Any ideas?
I think that is possibly particles from the charcoal canister that breaks loose over time
