    Servicing entry level forks is relatively easy and yet few mechanics want to do it! Great video as always.

      Usually the reason is the labour charge to service them isn't worth the cost of a replacement fork. Like many entry level components they're consumable

    Nice to see another ATX. Bought the hydraulic version before lockdown in 2020 and still loving it. Changed to a 1x9, switched to a Rockshox fork and went tubeless. Even if there are much better mountain bikes out there it’s always been brilliant and will keep it for a long time to come. Great video as always!

    This is my newest favorite channel. I have been binging old videos like mad for the past several days. I can't get enough. I am learning a lot about strip downs and rebuilds. Thanks for all the information! Also, from the USA ... much appreciated content.

    Hi from India! I love your videos - the way you service and talk through every aspect of the work being done is very interesting. The content is great and there is so much to learn from it. Wanted to check - do you get bikes with restoration and upgrades or just upgrades? I was just curious as to what specific components do people usually upgrade and what is your take on upgrading components vs upgrading a bike? Would be great if you have a video on it. Thank you for the awesome content.

    • @Bikespeeds
      @Bikespeeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s entirely up to the customer, it’s really about the whole package, no point having carbon wheels on a steal frame but if you’re happy with your frame then definitely invest in some good components🧡

    We have a bike shop around 45 minutes from us and i just put uogrades on my giant but it still needs a new chain installed and probably stuff greased up, gotta try and call them tommorow.

    Excellent workmanship as always. What do you do about washing your microfibre cloths? I’m worried I’ll upset the wife if I chuck them in the washing machine (!)

    • @Jacksparrow4986
      @Jacksparrow4986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess some sort of pretreatment is in order, to get the grit out. I have been wondering about this as well, their cloths always look very clean before use.

    • @terribleteddy1321
      @terribleteddy1321 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s a lot of good videos and articles about this from the auto detailing world. Best to use cold water (warm if they really need it) and most importantly a laundry detergent without perfumes or fabric softeners (sometimes called free and clear). Anything besides that will trash your microfibers. Then after your hard work just hang dry them and don’t put them in the dryer. If a towel is really messy I’ll pre treat with all purpose cleaner and some warm water. As they get more worn start keeping track of which ones you want to use for paint work and which older ones can be retired to messier duties

    • @Bikespeeds
      @Bikespeeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time we chuck them out but the clean ones we just put them in the washing machine

    I have the same type of BB. Is it even worth taking it apart and servicing in the future? Seems like most people just buy a new one.

    • @Jacksparrow4986
      @Jacksparrow4986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you do it yourself most likely. If you value sustainability also yes. If you're unsure, ask your bike shop for a quote and look for bikes somewhat above that price point.

    in what frequently do service bike daily use road driving bikes

    • @Bikespeeds
      @Bikespeeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if you mean how often should a bike be serviced? I always recommend when ever a bike develops a problem it’s a good time to get it serviced or before your yearly A event.

    Your calming voiceovers are great but don't really mesh with the frantic fast-forward. Instead of trying to cover so much ground per shot maybe have more cuts?
    Anyway, great work!
