Thank you for the video. Since you mentioned that you are horrible at placing vinyl, try the wet method. Put water and a drop of dish detergent in a spray bottle. Spray your substrate before applying the vinyl and that will allow you to be able to move your vinyl around until you get it in the perfect spot.Then squeegee the excess water out and let dry. It will be stuck whereever you placed it once dry.

I tried this several times but my transfer kind of sticks to the vinyl leaving white on top. What could be the problem? Using the white oracle 651 340° at 25 sec .

Possibly using too much pressure. I had that issue when I was too firm. Also you may just have a lot of ink on your paper so play with those printer settings a bit

I no longer use oracal so I have not tried it. I have done it on clear starcraft and it’s ok. Its never going to be super bright because the ink is transparent and so is the vinyl

You only press once. Pressing any longer will dull the image as it reactive a the ink to a gas. If it’s coming out dull you may need to press it a bit longer

How can you sublimate on htv PLAIN white vinyl NOT GLITTER. Ive tried and barely any colour transfers. Im using cotton baby suits not polyester in Australia.
Because it’s on permanent vinyl they are made to hold up to some decent use. I washed and scrubbed these and they held up great! You could just sublimate the photo onto your vinyl and then put it wherever. I don’t think they would be up protected though that would likely be the only down fall
Vinyl is waterproof a lot of people will sublimate on clear to use in place of waterslide which requires a lot more work. Also you can make your own permanent patterned vinyl this was as well.
Hi all! I have the Cricut Explorer and the Easy Press 2. I am trying to make different designs with print and cut feature on the cricut. I have seen several videos out there. Do I need sublimation coasters? I seen I could use Laminate If my coaster are ceramic. Also do I need a sublimation printer???? I thought you could use an Inkjet and then print , cut then press. I am so confused. Thanks
You are talking about two completely different things. Sublimation needs to be done with sublimation ink and printer plus sublimation paper and a polyester coated blank or material. Print then cut can be done with an inkjet printer and printable products. You MUST have a sublimation printer to do sublimation designs. This is a process where the ink is heated into a gas and then it dyes the fabric or coating of the blank. Using inkjet means you print onto a product that is made to be printed on and then place it ontop of the blank.
i didn't know this was a thing! i would suggest Not using cheaper sub paper (i had some lying around and my better paper is in storage right now) but that paper stuck to the vinyl
It really doesn’t matter. Whatever you like best. The clear is going to need a solid color for the images to show up really well though. Like you’ll need to put it on something solid
I didn’t use oracal 651 in this video I used Starcraft HD and it doesn’t have to be that specific brand that’s just the brand I use and I like the best this will work on removable vinyl as well
These are made with cast acrylic so yes they could be sublimated on however because they are clear it would be hard to see the design or you would need to do something light colored on the other side to make it show. There are lots of ways to decorate a blank this is just one of a million options
So to be honest I don't know ton about dye sub and how it may differ from sublimation ink I use. I would image from what I have read that the starcraft HD should work but I can't promise it will
Do you find that pressing onto clear is a lot more vibrant? I find that any time I press to white vinyl (matte or gloss) it isn't as vibrant as when I press to clear vinyl. Do you use oracle?

@@CorinneBlackstone If I peel while still hot the paper comes off, but unless I am super careful, it tends to pull up the sides of the vinyl too. Frustrating at times. The only work around I have found is to press onto a large piece of vinyl, so I can cut away the 'peeled' edges...
Do you mind me asking where are you getting all your licensed images? I want to find a place to buy some images but that is on the legitimate side especially when coming to things like this.
All the places I get my images is listed in the video description. There’s a whole list of all good places with commercial use license. I hope that helps! :)
When you use the parchment , you leave very little of the vinyl exposed and that as where you attach it first then lift the rest up, remove the parchment and slowly lay it down smoothing with a scraper or hand. Makes it so much easier.
@@sirrahinct471 I do this also and it is probably the best tip ever. It helps in making large porch sitters and I have used it for permanent vinyl on my camper. I hate the way that perm vinyl attaches before you want it to. I also leave a bit at the top open
Hiii, so ordered my ink and paper from your previous epson sublimation conversion video. I love everything so far and you are great at teaching. However the bleeding is killing me after sublimating! I used like 4 sheets of butcher paper and teflon sheets (top and bottem) and I actually got bleeding on my brand new press. I was just shopping around to see if maybe its the ink or that paper. The paper setting was printed exactly the way you showed it and it had been printed days beforehand so it had time to dry. Have you tried different sub paper? I am desperate for help!

Rapid-Tac spray works wonders letting you position the vinyl. Let dry and vinyl is stuck on and well positioned.

Because the type of acrylic these were made with at the time would not allow sublimation. It also tends to warp acrylic when sublimating on to it

Make sure you are pressing very firmly with a hard surface. Also depending on brand it may be a littler different

You can’t sublimate on both side of the vinyl but you can decorate both sides of the car coaster

The ceramic tiles could be done yes since it’s just vinyl applied to the top. They do not need to be sealed

Hi there, when I press the a sub onto the vinyl for the recommended time frame it doesn’t come out vibrant. It’s very dull. Any idea why?
You may need to adjust the time and temp a bit.

Seems like the paper is sticking to the vinyl. I use a sub. I tried wiping and came off but still dull.
I did this and the sublimation paper left a film in the vinyl so the words are dull. How do I fix that?
Use a baby wipe and clean it or put it under water and wipe with a damp rag or sponge

You can’t. It’s not a polyester product

does the sublimation stay on well even outdoors? I want to make new dash decals for my tractor and it will be exposed to the elements

The paper can stick to the vinyl just use a baby wipe or wet cloth it comes right off

You may need to adjust your pressure. And don’t peel the paper off get the paper wet using a damp rag and rub it off. Works better that way

That is another option to do this. However I did it and the flowers did not show as much as I would have liked them do. It’s all personal preference

Cricut really is terrible for printing sublimation. The color isn’t great and it wastes ink and materials

It may be overheating it but if it doesn’t come off let it cool completely then clean it with a little water and a rag or a baby wipe

Hates paper is what I have been using and printers jack. I am not getting bleeding at all

is there a reason you keep your heat press at 325 instead of the recommended 380-400 for regular sublimation onto clothing etc?
Yes after many tests the normal temp is too hot for the vinyl so you need to do this at a lower temp so you don’t damage the vinyl

If you mean faded you’re not heating enough if you mean like distressed or cracked looking you may need to wipe it off with a baby wipe
It's like distressed looking and weird. I've tried going 60 seconds, 40 seconds, higher heat, and lower heat. Idk what else to do 🥺
I get white splotches when I try to sublimate on oracle 651 white or clear - any ideas why? some of it wipes off but not all of it
