  • Hi Friends!
    In today's video I'm going to show my process of how I create sublimated vinyl stickers with Oracal 651 permanent Vinyl and laminating sheets.
    Let me know in the comments what you think ...
    Do you have a permanent vinyl that's not mentioned and works well for you?
    Do you use a UV Protector sheet over your outdoor stickers?
    Products used ...
    Oracal 651 vinyl purchased from Happy Crafters.
    A-Sub sublimation paper purchased from Amazon.
    Printers Jack sublimation ink purchased from Amazon.

      @@inthe5067 So I tried making my stickers today for a water bottle . I was sooo nervous. I did 375 for 60 seconds with a heavy 65lb card stock paper covering front and back. They came out great and no bubbles. Thank you so much again for sharing!❤️

    Others are sublimating directly on Oracal 651 without laminating sheet. When I tried the laminate on 651 it ended up delaminating

    Can you explain the difference between clear oracle 651 & laminate adhesive. Also. Do it have to be the thermal lamination?. I seen the self adhesive laminate 3mil that say it is heat resistant...can you use that as well?

      Oh Tony I wish I knew! The pack it came in got wet ... oopsie knocked over a tumbler of water!! ... and had to trash it. I'd guess to say it was probably a standard thickness.

    Just curious what the benefit is of using the laminate as opposed to just sublimating the design onto the vinyl? I've done the sublimation directly on the vinyl and it works well for indoor use as stickers. Does the addition of the laminate make it more durable for use on a car where it will be subject to the elements?

    • @inthe5067
      @inthe5067  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It works great for indoor use but stickers are typically used where they get a lot of touch it elements wear and eventually that ink will rub away from the vinyl. The laminate.gives it that polyester substrate that sublimation ink dyes right into and won't fade, rub or wash away.

    • @dclose07
      @dclose07 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It will show through to the back of the 651 if you don’t use the laminate. Also, not using the laminate will make the sub paper stick to the 651. You can run it underwater and lightly rub the paper away and leave the printed image behind, but it does sorta crinkle the sticker, but after you dry it, and peel it away from the backing and press it down on your surface it will smooth out.

    Hello - I'm having an issue where the lamination sheet easily peels off the vinyl. I've experimented with high and low temps and times. The lamination sheet peels easily off the oracle 651 matte. I'm wondering if it's the type of lamination sheet that I'm using, any suggestions?

      I cut with the Premium Vinyl setting. I use this setting for 99% if my vinyl cuts and it's never let me down.

    at 14 min and 14 seconds in, i seen the laminate pull up easy when you were trying to peel it off the back to show... is that normal? that's my issue and i cold peeled

    • @inthe5067
      @inthe5067  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine was too hot when I peeled because I wanted to get the video done. I've had some laminate that won't stick and peels away which is super frustrating. I found the Staples brand always sticks so I just stick with that now.

    What exactly is the point of the lamenting sheet, since you can sublimate straight onto Oracle 651? I would think if it was to protect the ink from fading or some other form of protection the lamenting sheet would need to be ontop of the image not under it.

    • @elliemerritt665
      @elliemerritt665 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was what I was thinking also! I have seen videos where they sublimate directly into the Oracle and I would think putting the laminate over would protect the image more. My opinion

    why do you think my image is not sticking to the laminate when i pull apart

    • @inthe5067
      @inthe5067  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be the laminate sheets. I have used several types and found the Staples brand sticks whereas the Amazon brand will peel away.

    • @inthe5067

      Hi Denise! What paper product were you using? Of all the stickers/labels I've created this way I've not had my paper stick to the laminating sheet (Koala and A-Sub used). Did your laminating sheet stick to the Oracal? I'm wondering if it was put in upside down.

  • @susannixon181
    @susannixon181 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    you do not need to laminate the 651 to be able to sublimate on it..
