      Yes you're correct. I wish he would actually learn the food here before telling others how to cook it. Look up his most delicious boiled crawfish. (Which wasn't delicious). If you're from anywhere in Louisiana you'll see why that was terrible.

      @@nemesisryder2 Not trying to criticize one of the most well known chefs ever, but I've worked with several chefs who built their career in New Orleans and have made authentic BBQ shrimp a couple of different ways for some of my personal clients and it was not like Gordon's here.

    We did this as a big family cook up to kick off our bbq and we really, really loved it! The flavours together were simply amazing; so simple, but so very good. We followed the directions exactly, (without burning down our house even). Thanks Gordon, for this and all your lovely recipes from the humble 4.5 minute boiled egg, the great creamy scrambled egg and salmon to the more exotic dishes; all of them turning out pretty much perfect by following your directions.

    As a cajun I appreciate the respect he gives to different cuisines. This isn't how my family would make it (Old bay??) but the essence is definitely there and a respect for the shrimp. If I had one complaint, that bun is a sad excuse for a french roll, but hey its a pandemic & the rest of it looks amazing.

      Worst video I've seen of him by far. As someone who has grown up in New Orleans I can honestly say this is the WORST barbecue shrimp i have ever seen. If you dont know about the culture and cuisine it looks good. But if you're from new orleans you would know this is not barbecue shrimp lol

      New Orleans BBQ Shrimp is essentially a garlic/lemon butter shrimp. It was started at Pascal’s Manale here in NOLA.
