Its good to see Adam's Arms 308 rifles showing up in more hands. Ive had mine for 5 years and several hundred rounds of steel case, a few hundred m80s and about 100 otm. Its been reliable. And i want them to sell a 6.5 creedmoor upper to me.
Mostly true. .308 is great because it is pretty much the same performance in a smaller overall size, but only works well with the "standard/common" 30-06 bullet weights. The heaviest 30-06 bullets, like 200gr, don't really work well with .308 case. Definitely a nit pick, though 😁
nah, it's completely true. A 200 grain bullet out of the 30-06 is inefficient and shouldn't be used. Use a 300 Win mag for that.....if you chronographed those 200 grainers out of your 30-06 rifle(don't believe the box numbers, they lie and use 26-30" barrels for testing to lie about their numbers), you'd find that they are only going under 2400 fps, lol.(almost 30-30 speed). .308 is 97.4 % the ballistics performance of 30-06....
@Simon-talks Nah, it's not, you can go heavier if you want to, people use 220 gr with 30-06 for shorter ranges, and if you're going with the heavier bullets you're not trying to get higher velocity anyway. Yeah, 300 win mag would be more ideal for heavier bullets, but that supports my point, it's because it has more case capacity and you can go even heavier with that round if you want. 200gr and 220gr might not be efficient in a 30-06, but would be even less efficient in .308. There are use cases for those heavy 30-06 rounds, like dropping large game inside 200 yds where it makes sense. Most people reading your comment would assume that you're saying .308 can use any and all 30-06 bullets just fine and get 97.4% of the performance or of them, which is not true of all 30-06 bullets...
@@Simon-talksBut I can get a 26 inch barrel and run a 200 grain projectile faster than you can push a .308. (My bolt rifle is in 25-06. I'm not even part of this discussion.)
