    Brian, since the new clipon can be adjusted around the forks where we wanted, not like the old clipon with a set screw to secured on the top. If we wanted to lower the front end of the bike and drop the forks protruding upwards, is there an issue with mounting the clip on top of the triple tree clamp plate so to have a cleaner look without the forks sticking up.
    Since the new clipon is adjustable I don't think there shouldn't be an issue. I have done it with my cruiser with just a clipon and have no issue with clipon moving around. Let me know thanks.

  • @jmay2286

    What would you recommend to do if your nipple from the controls is broke off from a wreck? I purchased woodcraft clipons and the control on my right side twisted and broke off so now the throttle tube moves even when installed fully. Thanks in advance Brian!

    Great step by step video. I would like to move my clip ons approximately up an 1" and towards the rider 1". Is there such
    a product that works on the 18 R1 for this purpose? Would risers w/those dimensions cause any other problems w/cables lengths anywhere? BTW, thanks for the vid. Last, what size clips on do I need for my bike? Fork diameter, etc?
    Looking for similar length, just repositioned

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the R1 you need 50mm clip ons. As for the risers on that bike there are several factors to consider. What I recommend doing is to remove the top triple clamp and loosen the OEM clip ons up. From here try to slide them up on the fork tubes to see if you have enough cable length to make the move you want. You could also slip the clip ons off the forks, slide the top clamp back on and hold the OEM clip ons on top of the clamp to see what clearance is available. Lots of variables in the riser clip on fitment.
      You should be able to install a riser clip on with a 1" rise, the issue will be getting the bars closer to the rider as most riser clip ons will move the bars forward just a touch (depends on the bike). - Brian Van

    Thank you Brian for all these videos! I have a 15 R1 and I'm currently looking for an aftermarket clip on that has the same/similar offset as an OEM clip on, so what offset should I choose? zero, 20mm?

      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and happy to hear the videos have been helpful. For your bike there are a ton of options (link is below). On that page we have several different offsets to choose from, compare them and run with the ones that make the most sense to you and are closest to the factory offset if that is what you prefer.

    Got those for my r6, fits perfect, very comfortable but they're very light and that causes really bad vibrations on the grips, one of the clipon bolts fell out in the middle of the ride because of the vibrations, is there a way to reduce it? will weighted bar ends help?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The weighted bar end should help to reduce the vibration a bit. If the fastener came out that means it was not tight enough to begin with. After you install these or any clip ons you need to double check the torque of all the fasteners after the first ride. -Van

    When drilling metal it is in your best interest to get some oil on it. It will make drilling easier and faster, as well as making your bits last longer

      I hear you and have done it both ways. At the expense of the bit I have found using a Cobalt tip bit with no oil and easy pressure gets the fastest results. It is at the expense of the bit on some level. - Van

      +squatsnow It is adjusted by the throttle cable adjusters coming from the throttle tube. If you have used those and were not successful you may want to take it to a dealer. They likely won't charge much, if anything and it only takes a couple of minutes. Thanks for watching!
