This may be a stupid question. But did u have to do anything with your front braking system during the install? I'm gonna install mine 2maro and just wanted to make sure first before I started. Thanks
I figured it out. I must have turned my head real quick during that part of your video. .I watched it again ans saw it. . Thanks buddy great videos by the way. Very helpful
Your videos and information are amazing. Thank you for taking the time and effort to help out motorcycle enthusiasts like me learn how to love their bikes and safe money. Cheers
You should be able to get some sort of clip on, it looks like your bike has 41mm tubes. You would have to go with another brand such as Vortex, Woodcraft or LSL. Your bike is not released here in the US, so you would want to also double check bar clearance.
Thanks to your vid I was able to install my helibars today. Question 1) Any idea why the aftermarket doesn't use the 6mm lateral alignment bolts for the clipons? Make sense they would be perfectly aligned if used. Also, I question whether they might move without the fixed alignment bolts. Any opinions on that? I truly liked the position of the stock bars for aggressive riding vs the new ones. I guess I'll have to change them out for track use later this year. Question 1) What is the best way to align the clipons? These have no marks on them. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!!!!!!!!
I like to use the Motion Pro Clip On Alignment Tool to get my bars dialed in after the install. Here is a link to it on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/motion-pro-clip-on-handlebar-alignment-tool/ - Brian Van
@Sportbiketrackgear Which of all the clip ons would you say are the best for street ergos? I just got an 07 CBR600 and I do a lot of daily riding so i want something higher and closer to me. Thanks.
Hey mate! Thank you and appreciate the quick response. I saw the vortex video just before yours. I'll suss them both out with some of our local mechanics and ask them what you said. Thanks mate. Zak.
How high or low do you want to setup your clip-ons for expert level track riding? I never paid any attention to how high or low i would want them, and i'm trying to sort out the benefits of either or.
It really depends on your motorcycle and what is comfortable for you. I would contact a suspension expert to get a little more information on that part. ~Aubrey
You could try to reuse your grips but for the cost of new ones, you might just want to get a new pair. They will last longer and then you have the ability to get different a thickness, etc. Thanks for watching! ~Aubrey
Hey Byran - I have a 2009 Honda CB 400. Do you think the Ranthal Clip ons would fit on my bike? I am new to this so I want to make sure before I purchase it will all fit. Thanks.
was any modification needed for the controls, like drilling a hole for the throttle, and light switch? i have vortex clip-ons and i noticed that my OEM clip-ons have those pre-drilled holes.
great video. i was thinking of just going oem. but i really like the way Renthal did these. also do they make a 1.5 inch riser? im more street. not a track bike.
Hey stg, great review and video as always. As a street rider who just loves the look of race spec bikes, would these clip ons work well for street use on my '05 zx636, or would I regret this purchase.
Hey STG, I have a '02 f4i and they have 43mm OEM clipons. I want to get new clipons that are longer so that I may put a different master cylinder on it. Any recommendations?
I would say you get better control from a standard clip-on but if it matters depends what kind of pace you are riding. Some makes and models use a slight rise but I think it is mostly about what is comfortable!
i suggest you take these out ASAP. Mine cracked and luckily for me i was in the pits when that happened. Read this one : road.renthal.com/shop/support/clipon-return
Thanks for the positive feedback and support, much appreciated! ~Aubrey

You should not have to do anything, no. Thanks!

What kind of clip-ons where mounted, before the renthal? and whats the best angle for clip ons?
Do you recommend the Renthal clip-ons over the Apex clip-ons ?

@kopaszQ I feel the Yamaha YZF-R6 is the best 600 supersport bike

You can definitely use clip-ons for street application, I would not say that it is completely limited to a race bike. ~Aubrey
Would the stock grips of my bike work with these? or would I need to purchase grips to suit? Thanks in advance!

They allow for handlebar tube replacement and more adjustment. I install clip ons on every bike I have.
@PacoGP17 Also a good part, just not on the same level as the Renthal as far as attention to details etc...
Also, any videos of your track use of the R1?
do any racers use riser clip on for less wrist strain for more comfort or do they not work well for racing?
I would say you get better control from a standard clip-on but if it matters depends what kind of pace you are riding. Some makes and models use a slight rise but I think it is mostly about what is comfortable!
On my r6 the shut off switch has like a nipple on it and it go into a hole on the stock handlebars did yours have one or did you grind it down
+MrWheelie_R6 You can drill if or grind it off. I have done it either way with solid results. - Van
+Sportbike Track Gear thank you
can you put bar ends in them instead fo the stock slider?
I ordered vortex clip ons what do u think about those
why did you choose yamaha?
thanks
thanks a lot for the info, I really wanted to see how they fit before I bought them... now off to order them
@heratus007 Thanks, and yes these are incredible
how is the vibration vs regular bars??
@MikSane Pretty much the same as far as I have noticed
What size bars are they 50mm?
Looks like a quality product, thanks for another great video
You are welcome and thanks for watching. - Brian Van
I love it bro I just installed some on my fz6r

"Go ahead and spin your nut off" lol

@Brad117485 No worries
I have that Renthal clip-ons in my SRAD 750 99 an that is fantastic.
i suggest you take these out ASAP. Mine cracked and luckily for me i was in the pits when that happened. Read this one : road.renthal.com/shop/support/clipon-return
You are worming in the tank area and don´t cover it?
Bad practice my friend, if that 36 mm fall in the tank it will be a mess!
thanks.
Yack attack
No idea what you are talking about. - Van
