I just installed one on a 2.0 Lite JW and an XP 3.0. The 2.0 Lite cannot handle this installation, although the video says it can and there are screws, there just isn’t room. I installed it on the top tube and hope that it doesn’t get in the way. On the 3.0 it was torture, with very small hands it was difficult to get the screws back in and tightened. I think it was well over an hour of frustration, although I did finally get it, and I am not sure the screws are tightened enough. There just isn’t room for fingers, Allen key, and screws. All I can say is, whoever designed this mounting should be punished by having them install 100 of them a day for a year.
Hey there! We're sorry to hear about that. Please give our team a call at 602.715.0907 during business hours and we'd be happy to provide you with the appropriate screws.
If you find it difficult to mount the case using the screws or decide to skip them, you can use the Velcro straps instead. Simply thread the straps through the rectangular openings on the back of the case, ensuring the rubber side is facing the bike. Next, wrap the strap around the seat post, feed it through the strap's end tab, and secure it by pressing it onto the fuzzy side of the Velcro. Additionally, if you want to mount the case elsewhere on the bike where there are no screw mounts, the straps offer a flexible solution. You can even use them to mount the lock on another bike or scooter.
@@LectriceBikesThanks! I did get it installed eventually. I did'nt think about taking the seat off. I found that taking the rear light off made it a bit more accessible.
@@LectriceBikes My issue is the lock gets jammed on the seat clamp why trying to slide it out, and with the fender kit installed there's not enough room to get your fingers past the mounting plate on the fender, you have to fish the rubber strap onto the holding nub. I was going to add washers under the top of the mounting bracket for the lock to clear the seat clamp, but then that would make the issue with clearance on the fender bracket worse. Going to have to mount somewhere else.
We have the XP light. How does the lock case attach? We attached where you show, but you can’t secure with the strap, the Fender Bracket is in the way! I understand you’re a green Company. But directions would have been nice! We don’t have service where we are. Very disappointed. The front fender, was so tweaked it was rubbing the Tire. We bent the bracket, seems ok. I understand green Co. but I spent green, buying this! 2 trips to town, for internet, just to assemble is crazy!
This video was helpful BUT I’d love to know how to use this lock when you don’t have a point to lock it to… I read you can just lock the tires up but that was confusing 🤷♀️
Hey there! If you do not have any mounting points for the bike lock, the lock itself does come with two velcro straps that you are able to use to mount anywhere on your bike.
Warning, there is pretty much no room to install this on the XP Lite 2.0. The top screw wasn’t bad, but the bottom one was almost impossible! I managed to get it in after an hour of hell using just my fingers and figured it was good enough since I was able to use the Allen key to tighten the top one all the way. Not fun!
If you’re lucky you can use screws to attach the lock holster at preexisting attachment points, like where you would otherwise put a water bottle holder. With some models this doesn’t work out in which case you may be able to use the Velcro straps to attach the holster elsewhere. For the Lectric One I can’t find a suitable holster location so I’m just tossing the lock in my pannier.
I had the same problem - I felt the supplied key was too long. I ran the screw in and out a few times before placing the holder & used a shorter Allen key to give my gnome-like hands a chance to get in there! You could cut 1/8" - 1/4" off the supplied key to make some room...

The process IS NOT the same on the XP Lite! There's zero room to get a tool in. Once in, the elastic won't secure with fender installed. Should have just recommended use of straps for XP Lite. 😡
The rear fender kills any chance to use this mount point on the XP Lite, especially the lock because the rubber strap can't fit due to the rear fender bracket being too big and sticking out. I'll try the Velcro on the lift handle and hopefully that'll work. The front light blocks the front mount point so that's out of the question too. 3:15

This was the worst design choice ever.
I ended up installing it on the 2.0 where intended, but cursed the entire hour it took. I have tiny hands, even then it was difficult.
@@bonniei3975 having fat fingers didnt help this either, i found a different spot to put it on on the 3.0 cuz i couldnt do it in the standard spot
I wish every product had helpful videos like this. Great designing with the bike lock placement, descreet and completely out of the way.
👍👍👍
Definitely can’t install it there on the 2.0 lite there isn’t room…please make a video on how to properly do it. Please and thanks!🙏🏽
The video was a great help in installing the lock on our XP 3.0s.
The included screws are too short to mount the lock holder on my XPEAK High Step?

Where does this go when the frame bag is installed on the Xpedition? The down-tube points just cause it to run into the stem.
How strong is this lock? Thinking of buying it, I just want to be sure it's secure and durable.
Thanks for the video. What are the Velcro straps for?
It pays to watch and actually listen. He clearly stated the reason in the video😂

Has anyone figured out how to do this on the XP lite. There is almost no room to use the allen key.

you are absolutely right. It took me over an hour and a lot of piss and moan to install it on my Letric XP 2.0 lite yesterday.
If you have an XP 3.0 this video gives a little more detail on installing the lock holder.

this is actively the worst design idea ever. Trying to attach the lock holder to that spot is insanely difficult bordering on nearly impossible.
