  • NEM Converter pockets.
    - Dapol, Hornby and Airfix
These again are designed to change an old system to the newer NEM pockets allowing you to fit what you require.. like Kadee's for example.
I use these on my wagons and they work well... they can also fit bogie stock with a little bit of work.
They are available via Vectis Models, all rights and designs are registered to them, discounts also available direct through the page.
    / modelrailprints3d
Also available via eBay, these are relisted every 2 weeks.

Also our NEW Shop! Opened in January 2021, cheaper prices due to less fees.

I have never understood why locos and rolling stock don't just have a hook at each end with a chain link coupler. At least Shapeways couplings look good, and Bachmanns coach pipe coupling is a move in the right direction. I like Hornby's latest chain link coupler on the Rocket, a bit fiddly but that can be developed.

Hi Matt, would these be the sort of thing to convert a Dapol wagon built from their kits. Love the idea.

Probably not these, an dthe problem with those kits there's 2/3 different types of mounting points because of the age of the kits some are kit master, Airfix and possibly some Dapol as well.. Sadly not a one size fits all... Some have used the Lima types and glued them in the hole...

Hi Matt, I've purchased from you before. Do you do a converter for a Ratio /Cooper craft kits. I have a number of these completed kits, and would like to go to NEM couplings. Kind regards Mike of Bristol

      Hello Mike,
Thanks for purchasing I recognized the name.
I cannot remember what the ratio ones are I have a vague memory but depends on what it is.
The coopercraft kits I know some have been sold on to other companies, Phoenix and Cambrian so they may have been changed.
Best to send photos of the couplings and the area around them... To see if we have anything suitable.
But we don't have anything designed specifically for them.

Hi there, I'm in the process of converting several of the old Triang/Hornby Thompson teak coaches - which come with nothing more than an empty shell and very little detail. Those I have, some have very rusted couplings of the old D type of coupling and I was wondering if i could convert them to a better type of coupling. Those on my coaches are held in place with a rivet and two lugs. Do you produce any coupling fixtures for these? Perhaps you could advise me. Thanks. PS, A very good and interesting video.

Hello, thanks for your interest in my items.
We do have something it will require some Work to fit them, as they need be at the right height.
So the rivet will need drilling out or removing and a slot/channel cut to allow the pocket to sit at the right height.
They come in 4x or 18x

I have an older Hornby Class 43 125 HST. Do you know if NEM pockets are available for it and for Mk III intercity coaches?

    • @bluebellModelrailway
      @bluebellModelrailway  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sadly there are so many variations, from ex dapol tooling to various hornby toolings, even some Lima ones in there to, sadly you need to know what type you have.
We do a selection, for old toolings however some couplings are moulded in to the bogie.. I have some in CAD but not tested yet.

@@bluebellModelrailway Thanks for that. I can imagine it would be hard. There are many versions. I don't mind the tension lock coupling, but some of these early HST's like mine, dont have the clip on the Power/dummy power cars. They tend to uncouple if the powered car is at the rear "pushing" the train along
