In 2008, Gary said in an interview that “It wasn't clear or easy to understand. But it doesn't matter. You don't need to know what it means as long as you can communicate with its atmosphere. A Whiter Shade Of Pale seems to be about two people, relationships, or memories. About that sad farewell The important thing is to get into the mind of the music content. make people feel it Show that the goal was achieved.” Interview with Uncut Magazine in 2008.

This song by the English rock band Procol Harum was released as their debut record on May, 12th 1967!!! The single reached number 1 ... Gary Brooker, singer/songwriter & pianist, singing lead here, past away from cancer at his home February, 19th 2022, at the age of 76. He was phenomenal, & still kicking it at his prime in his performance. ❤ Truly gifted!

The original version was done by these guys back in 1967 & this takes me back to my senior prom 1971. This was really big by then & they sound as good as they did 50 plus years ago. Love this version as well. Nothing better than the music of the 60's & 70's in my book. I love all music, but something about that old stuff stands the test of time. It wasn't 'trendy' & autotuned like music today.

Love this song. I actually prefer the studio version from the 60's as it is the one I grew up on. This live version is very good though as it shows how powerful Gary Brooker's voice was even as he got older. "Conquistador" is another great song by Procol Harum. Sad to hear of his passing recently.

This came out when I was six. I very clearly remember hearing it on the radio and later listening to the album on my stereo (aka record player with a built in 8-track and cheap speakers). This performance is more sophisticated, and even my phone has better sound quality, but those are great memories.

Born in October 1967, I definitely remember this song. Year’s after I was born I fell in love with the classical song Air on the G String, after my mom told me that that particular song was played at my grandfather’s funeral, I believe that it was one of his favorites too, it definitely is what I call bittersweet memories, I absolutely love it but it makes me want to cry ❤

This is a pretty musical score. However digest the lyrics and it’s terrible sad. What’s it about?
    1. GIRL AND GUY AT A PARTY
    2. STONED.
    3. DOING HEROINE.
    4. THE GIRL TURNS GHOSTLY. A WHITER SHADE OF PALE.
    5. THE GUY WAS FEELING KIND OF SEASICK.
    6. HE IS DELUSIONAL AS THE ROOF FLIES OFF THE BUILDING.
NO, THE SONG IS ACTUALLY VERY VERY SAD.
