I like those added touches of bling too. I think that it’s those little extra touches that make you also want to take better care of your equipment if that makes sense. I picked up a Scorpion DC reel in the summer. JDM unit, it's really nice and I'm using it for finesse fishing. Really happy with the purchase and it has that "exclusive" feel to it when I'm fishing it. Kind of cool to think that I picked it up in Tokyo

I know this is an old video. But I recently got a JDM SLX DC 70 and I LOVE IT! I’m getting this next week to replace the Lew’s that’s on my doomsday 47 rod. This red on the 47 rod is going to look sooooooooo good 😁 Also I notice my JDM SLX DC is louder than my curado dc 🤔 weird. I have my SLX 70 DC on a 7’1” medium fast Bass X rod and boy what a great top water, jerk bait and crank lipless or square bill setup! Pretty much anything with a treble hook I throw on that combo. The doomsday rod I’m putting the scorpion on is their 6’10” medium moderate-fast and that rods pretty much gonna play the same role as my bass x combo🤘🏻 OH! and of course whopper ploppers 😁
I do have two JDM reels, Metanium and Bantam MGL. Bought it there because is way cheaper and Digitaka ships reels and recently rods for free. I liked when you mentioned the spools moment of inertia, instead of simply weight. Many experts out there think the spools mass is all that matters, that isn’t always correct. Moment of inertia is the correct term and you were recently the only one I heard using it. Congrats for the video, it was very nice.

Japan is more into BFS than North America, so I understand why they don't offer as many MGL & BFS tuned casting reels in North America. We tend to use spinning reels for finesse fishing here. Thank you for sharing that beautiful Scorpion reel...

i bought three jdm scorpion dc reels i have one corado dc. it only has four adjustments . the scorpion has three internal for line type and 1 through 4 external + A for auto adjust .more range than the corado dc for fine tuning . if you have not fished one your missing out. i do recommend maybe shimano could hook you up.

@@LadyBass the left handed Scorpion DC HG model is a little slower then the Curado DC HG model. But besides that, only difference. The Scorpion DC matches the Zodias so perfectly, they were definitely made to go together
The Scorpion DC is a good bit smaller than the Curado DC. Holds less line but is also a smaller and lighter reel. The Scorpion DC also has the I-DC5 braking system which is much more advanced than the I-DC4 on the Curado and SLX DC models.
The K has a 200 spool and the scorpion has a 150 size. I want one but not sure if its worth the price over the K.
The Scorpion (other than the 8 speed ratio) only has an 84 mm handle as opposed to the 90 mm on the Curado K.

Scorpion (unless you get the highest gear ratio) comes with a smaller handle than the Curado K. That's pretty big difference which you failed to mention. No?

The Curado K and Scorpion mgl struggle with BFS lures under 5grams...which is disappointing for its price.
Hey I saw your reviews on the slx line and I was wondering what the size difference was with the slx XT compared to the regular slx?? Is it the same size or bigger? I just ordered the XT but I've got the regular slx and I'm wondering what to expect lol
The regular SLX is a tad smaller then the XT since the XT has an additional breaking system
It came in today and holy crap it's amazing. I seriously feel bad for other brands because it's not fair. Shimano sets the bar high with the slx line.

Off japan tackle it took about 10-14 days. Mind you im also in Toronto
