    I have a 6'8 L Zodias BFS and use it for ned rigs and finesse jigs! So light and sensitive, can only imagine how sweet this thing is!

      I'm sure that Zodias will be perfect for small crank and jerkbaits too!

    I been using bfs fishing gears for years and never regret, I had a blast every time I go out fishing, my best bfs setup a my trout setup which the Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS pair up with the Shimano Cardiff Native Special 52UL-2

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I would probably use more BFS if I fished for trout, but I don't.

    With all my finesse fishing I always use spinning setups and never got into the bfs setup, but after watching it looks like it will be a great addition to my kayak fishing and may take place of some of the spinning setups... great video!

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it feels weird cranking on a spinning setup, I still do it with #5 shad raps but much more natural with a baitcaster. Most spinning techniques won't be replaced, but finesse moving baits? Definitely!

      BFS is not for everyone, because not all people is actually open minded as they think they are, they (people) only love to say “I’m open minded”, truthfully they don’t, that’s why they will never understand and appreciate bfs style fishing

      @@leepao6302 I see what you mean although I haven't spent any time with the bfs setup I'm looking forward to trying it out.. I love fishing finesse and it's most of my fishing and there's always a place for trying new things in your fishing

      @@leepao6302 Lol it's not that deep, I have fun with this BFS setup but I can live without it for bass fishing - I cannot live without spinning setups for bass fishing, at least not for smallmouth.

      @@CookingandFishing true but why do some people choose to fly fishing yet they can still always use spinning setup explain that? see to me perspective and preference is everything when you’re doing something you love

    Thanks for another insightful video, this time about not only BFS “power fishing”, but also fishing from the kayak platform. Lots to absorb and emulate, Roger. BTW, does your Hummingbird have sidescan capability, and if so, should I consider upgrading😊y from my basic Garmin Striker 4CD. Pretty slick transducer mount.

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mike!! Yes my Helix 7 is a SI unit, and I prefer having the transducer on either side of the kayak vs in the transducer pod mainly for vertical jigging purposes when I target some other species. As far as side imaging goes...it really depends on the type of fishing. Here we're in prespawn and I'm mostly fishing shallow structure near the bank, and I hardly turn side scan on. But when I'm trying to locate deep suspended bait and gamefish and/or structure, side imaging can be invaluable. 2D, DI, and SI all take time to decipher and I'm sure we'll talk more about all that soon lol

    I recently bought a Aldebaran bfs, and I'm trying to match a rod to it. How does the expride bfs light compare if you know? Good/similar for power BFS? Trying to decide between this and the ML power which is 6'5 vs the other at 6'3.
    Fantastic video, thanks for the info

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No experience with the Expride BFS, the closest rod on paper to the Adrena in the video is probably the Zodias 68L BFS - exact same specs and probably even a touch more parabolic. For some reason I would think the Exprides will be faster than either the Zodias or Adrena, so if you want to do more bottom contact stuff maybe check out the Exprides.
