My 2006 37k-miles Element didn't have a scratch on it, until last year a phone, with a young woman attached, clipped the RR corner. Grrr! Her insurance paid instantly, and I figured I could do this and pay myself. I got the fender & bumper cladding, and tail-light off eBay like you did. Thank you very much for the concise procedure!
My E is the same blue/gray exterior. Painting the plastic is a good idea. Spray-on bedliner seems the way to go for that. Matte finish and super durable.
Did you get those decals off….I bought some plastic razor blades (Temu) and they take those dang thangs off real easy without damaging the paint! Thank you again for showing me how to fix something on my Element. You are my go to when I need help with my BillE
My bumper on my 2008 ellie sc is a little different but this is helpfull video thanks Would like to get that plastic off covering the steel bumper and paint it hopefully it's just a few fasteners Will start monday
Thanks for the walk through. I just took mine off to adjust and clean some things and got a salvaged trim piece. Took me forever to get everything off and I broke a bunch of the retainer clips (got new ones from the junk yard trim). Despite my lack of ability and proper tools, video was super helpful. Still not sure why you sprayed DW-40 on the bumper. What does that do?
@@georgewarnell2063 Thanks!! I'm going to have to try out some ideas for making the plastic look better at some point. Right now I'm just chasing all the mechanical issues on this car. New video going up tonight.
I like your videos ,got a question for you I have a 2006 Honda element i have almost 500,000 km on it here in Canada thought it would be a good idea to change the ignition coils got them from rock auto for $32 apiece denso oe do you think that was a good idea ,seems to run better
Personally, I don’t change out coils till I start getting misfires. If you noticed an improvement in milage or performance that’s all that matters. You might have had a misfire.
I little... but not intentionally. Elements are know for the the rear wheels sticking out after a while. I need to install some adjustable upper control arms when I get into doing the rear suspension.
The camper on the rear wheels is 1 % I believe. I have added the adjustable arms . In most casses The real problem is the rear shocks need to be replaced to get the proper hight this wilk bring the wheels back. Finding any suspension parts for a sc is getting difficult.
Correct. Use a heat gun on low and a metal putty knife with a worn tip so the risk of scratching the paint is kept to a minimum. Cut the heat and start peeling off the sticker on the first sign of bubbling.

37K??? That's amazing! WEll, the good news is it's not hard to fix.
This guy is really fun to watch. I'd love to go get a beer with him sometime.
Thanks Jeff. I try to keep things fun.
Thanks so much for the step by step. I'm not mechanical & this will help loads!!
Glad it helped
Excellent Brian Johnson you can now return with AC / DC !!
That's the plan!
“If you were a deep thinker” line is hilarious. Good video, you covered it well.👏👍🌟✌🏻👊🏻
Thanks! I'm trying to work on my material without ripping of Vise Grip Garage too much.
@@clintsearcy3252 Turns out you did it right anyway because I think 2 of the clips go through the cover and also tabs on the waffle bumper.
Great video and instruction. I appreciate you.

Just swapped my bumper this weekend. I left the insert installed and took it off after I got the bumper off.
Ahhhhh you did it the smart way!
@@clintsearcy3252 I got lucky!
Awesome. Thanks for taking the time!!!
You bet!
Nice. I'm sure I'll do this in the future. Need a front end bumper cover first.

I always like to shoot some sort of oil on rusty stuff before putting it back together.
@@clintsearcy3252 Can't hurt. Thanks!
I recently applied 50/50 BLO and regular paint thinner to the plastic fenders-etc.... Color is restored. We will see how long it lasts!
The BLO mixture made the trim pice (gray) look great as well

@@clintsearcy3252 How do i upload a picture so you can see it on here?
You, sir are a BOSS!!!
"Gringo" was the name my mother in law used to call me. :)
Thanks for the video Clint. Very well explained. How much did bumper with shipping set you back?
I think it was like $150. It was used off Ebay.
Do you really need to take off the grey cover in front of the bumper ? Or can it come off in one whole piece and put back on in one piece???
There's no need to take off the gray cover first.
@@clintsearcy3252 thank you

Where did you get the back bumper insert trip from
The black part came from ebay and the gray part came with the car.
Thanks mate

how do you take out the side plastic by the wheels (fenders) ?
I'll be doing a video on removing the plastic off the lower fenders soon.
Good job
Thanks

Didn't I see you post something about this to the Facebook group a few weeks ago?
I think so. I try to post some of these there for the good folks that have helped me solve some of these mysteries.
Vegetable oil &a plastic scraper will remove those stickers. Occasionally u might need a heat gun.
Good to know.
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Thanksssss
Yeeeees
I think for the old stickers you can use a heat gun and rubbing alcohol
I'll look into that.
