My former attorneys didnt request disvovery from the opponet atty or party . I only found this recently , i requested production of documents but i believe they wont be on time for me to prepare. ??? My divorce DBB WAS GRANTED maily for financial abuse so i dont have any idea what we have or owe . My husband submitted one month of documents and i cant verify anything . What should i do if im forced to represent myself with no info to get a fair distribution?
My wife and I sleep in separate bedrooms. Should I do a separation agreement even though I would say I would cover all living expenses (she is a stay at home wife/mom) while we lived in the same house? Then specify the different alimony/child support arrangements upon divorce? We live in North Carolina.
It is almost always best to mediate your case to settlement, and have the settlement agreement written up and signed, as soon as possible following a decision to divorce. Sometimes this is not a good strategy; but that is not usually the case in situations where both spouses are reasonable and ready to move on with their lives. I do not usually recommend that one person go to an attorney and have a settlement agreement drafted by that attorney and then presented to the other spouse. This IS, however, the common way to do things. When the terms are not agreed, however, this usually starts fires up the litigation process. Best to sit down together, agree on the terms, and then have the mediator write up what you agreed to.
My mediator was chosen by my former atty and i don't know ANYTHING about her , my mediation is in 15 days and being Pro Se it causes me great anxiety n Fear. What can be done?
You should not have to appear in a mediation when you know nothing about the mediator. Reach out to the mediator and let them now that you would like the opportunity for a short conversation, before the mediation, so you know what you are getting into. Also, look for reviews of the mediator online. Remember, too, that the mediator will not be making decisions for you. The mediators job is to help you and your spouse make mutually agreeable decisions. Also, check what the mediators background is. If you have complex finances, you need someone who understands money. If there are child-related issues, you will want to be sure the mediator has experience with those types of matters, too. Good luck.
Why should child support cover the cost of a house and those utilities when a honeymoon is already available by the paying parent? Honestly, it’s no wonder there is a birth rate crisis.
9 times out of 10, the child support paid is significantly lower than the financial contribution a parent would have made if the child was living with that parent full time. Child support is a puny sum next to what it actually takes to care for a child.
I love your videos , best ones i've found in a year!
Thank you!
