  • Some flights of the Aeromaster today. Still playing with camera settings. Autofocus was on and going crazy. Will keep experimenting.

Oddly I was just thinking about scratch building this aircraft for electric. I'm starting to believe that TH-cam can read minds. I built the original kit with a 35 cc engine back when the kit first came out. Great kit. Now I see your proof of concept I'm going to pursue that. Thanks for sharing and I'll be following you for more info and progress.

Just try to keep the tail light. The original kit uses a ton of sheet balsa compared to the open framework of this ARF version.

I have a built one with a Fuji 43ei which I’ve been considering converting to electric. After watching this I see another project in my future. The plane is a sleeper looks like a great barnstormer but it is completely capable of aerobatics & does them amazingly well.

Good video. I was glad to see the hatch. I'm converting a Carl Goldberg ultimate to electric. The upper wing struts are right there. So I'm discarding the plastic cowl completely and rebuilding the front end with the shape of the cowl and making a long battery hatch in the front. Nice flight, nice commentary.

I just got the new fiberglass cowl for the Aeromaster and oddly enough I also ordered a cowl and canopy for the CG Ultimate. After the 1/4 Decathlon I want to update and build an Ultimate. My plan is to turn turn the entire top deck into a hatch including the canopy. That should allow enough space to put the pack all the way to the firewall should it need to be.

Sweet! If I understand you're flying that on 8s currently???? You'll really be happy on 10s! I've had good luck with both HRB and Ovonic 5 cell batteries for my H9 RV4.

-- Wow this thing looks and flies great in the sky. How does this thing Knife Edges? I just got Aeroworks Pitts Python, so that is how I came across your video. More flats spins and tumbles please, as they does looks incredible on this "slow-mo" biplane!
-- Don't sweat about cowling, I kinda had the same situation on 91" J-3 Cub, the only option available at this point was Balsa USA ABS halfs for $15 with similar gaps to fuse "dilemma", but its kinda grows on you, always reminds me a full scale cowl, that moves "loosie-goosie" in opposite direction at engine starting, also more way for engine cooling air to escape...

-- BTW, raw comments while you flying much appreciated.

It flies knife edge really well except I need to do something about the hatch. I had it pop up while doing one the other day so I might have to add a mechanical latch to make sure it stays on.
As far as the cowl I've already redone it and got an original set of wheel pants for it. You can check it out on RCGroups here. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?4507235-Great-Planes-Giant-Aeromaster-ARF-Electric-Conversion

@@LilSkiRC -- Nice, subscribed, btw! I love the way your bipe flies, Python have a very thin and aggressive airfoil, your is a lot more docile looks more scale and less drama.

-- Hey, I wonder how thick is Aeromaster airfoil? If you don't mind me to ask?

Looks to be around 2" thick.

hi how is going dude 😊😊 so I have twinstar hobbico i wanna to converte it to electric so which brushless motor you recommend me to buy for it ???

I personally have not done any twins yet so that's a bit outside of my scope at the moment. But I highly suggest the website ecalc.ch. It is worth a few $$ for the subscription. It is what I use to spec all my setups including this one. It's been spot on every time.

There's an old review on RCGroups for the 56" WS version. Search: Hobbico Twinstar II ARF Review
