  • Another flight of the Giant Aeromaster ARF electric conversion. Got a new cowl, added some trim, and found an original set of wheel pants for it. Looks much much better.

-- I watch this video again, this airplane nails "Avalanches" like nobody's business. Very nice. To a point, feels like most of modern pilots nowdays, don't even know how to Snap Roll - at all... This Aeromaster just excels at it.

I tend to fly more "scale" and "traditional" aerobatics. I did the 3D thing years ago and got over it. The avalanche is something I have been working on in general lately. I tend to do the snap a bit late so I'm working on the timing. Planes like this and the Decathlon are fun to do them with. Lots of the modern mono wing aerobats do very quick and tight snaps. I personally like a big flared out snap. I like the challenge of a big and sometimes slow snap, and ending it cleanly.

Those checkers on tail looks really cool!

That's what it originally came with. But I tried to remove wrinkles from the rudder and they all shriveled up to nothing. So when I got the new cowl I decided to try the checker pattern on it and also restore them on the rudder. Overall it looks much better but I think it needs more trim.

@@homienat3374That’s when I built mine. I could pass for a grandfather but I’m not. These kits are hard to find. You can come across an ARF but they are way overpriced. It’s really a great aircraft. Hopefully through LilSki we might be able to put together a set of plans. If not I’m considering scaling up a Super Aeromaster set of plans. Hopefully you will be able to check this off your bucket list!

I built one of the original kits, not an ARF. Anyone have an idea where a set of plans could be found? I’ve been searching without success.

Sadly I sold an original kit not too long ago before I could get the plans scanned. I honestly didn't have much interest in the Aeromaster before I flew it. I'll ask the guy I sold it to and see if he can get them scanned.

@@LilSkiRC That would be really great. If you can get that on, I'll be more than happy to cover all the costs plus time and effort.

@@heeder777 I asked him and he said he was planning to have them scanned as well scanning the die cut parts. I don't know when he will do it but I'll see what I can do.
