Years ago my dad had a Maule M-4. 210 hp, constant prop. We flew it off 1/4 mile strip n our farm. When he went to the factory to buy it, during the demo they took off inside the hangar and were airborn when it cleared the hangar door.
It could take off in the length of a football field and clear the goal posts. This was a full size, four passenger plane that could carry about 1,000 pounds plus fuel.
Super impressed with the short take off and low speed. Just the thing to have for the bush!! Great job on your build.

I worked for an old famous model maker named Loyd Asbury 25 years ago and he told me about a guy that he knew that would fly around the USA in an old small ratty powerful plane and he would land when he was out of gas and then he would work odd jobs to raise money for more fuel then fly off again. He would land in any clear patch he could find and one day he put down in a tiny clearing in a wooded area that sounds like whats in your video. The person that owned the land said he would be stuck there. Later when it was time for him to go the pilot tied a rope to the back wheel and pegged it full throttle until the plane was hopping up and down in place then he told the guy to chop the rope and in the length of the plane he was up out of the trees.....amazing story I never really believed until I saw your video. Thanks for sharing your talent.

i heard once that:
there are crazy pilots
there are old pilots
but you'll never find any old crazy pilots!
one of the reasons I'm glad I never got into flying, because i was a crazy dirt biker for a long time (just couldn't help myself!) and i paid for it, let me tell you!
I envy the life of a pilot in a place like that. IT MUST BE EXCITING IN ONE AFTERNOON FLYING INTO THE FOREST I don't think I'm the only person who gets that way

Seriously impressed. Landings smooth as butter. You say its challenging for yourself, but you sure don't make it look that way. You back country pilots are REAL pilots. I would love a chance to get some of that experience. King airs and lancairs get boring after a bit.

I don't see him "enhancing" the wilderness, but he isn't tearing it up, either. He sure enhances the Bush Pilot's image, tho!

Awesome flying. I have my tail dragger endorsement, but not much experience in them. It's a whole different world steering from the ass end and trying to keep these pointed in the right direction. Much respect to you bush pilots who can fly with anywhere near the skills shown here. Truly an aerial artist on display here with the way you just seem to slide it right in with ease. Keep the videos coming if you can!
Awesome Video of extremely short Take Offs and Landings. But what is even more impressive are the fly-bys at around 20-30 miles per hour. The SuperCub has Larger Tires than most jeeps do; and it is guaranteed to go much deeper and further than any jeep every will be able to do. Most Impressive !

Хотел бы я посмотреть на взлет этого чуда при легком ветерке в 10 м\с. Полагаю, он с заглушенным мотором улетит, при этом в произвольном направлении, как лист фанеры над Ванкувером.

A top tier gaming PC might cost $2k, plus another few hundred for some equipment, let's call it $3k even though it's cheaper. With that you can fly anywhere on earth, in any plane, at any time, in any conditions you choose.
While anyone who flies a sim would agree we'd rather be a Tually flying, you can't deny that it's still a good deal compared to even the most basic flight training

I have a piece of waste ground behind my house. I use it for testing my dirt bikes as it's not much use for anything else. It's not as rough as this landing strip and its bigger!
I now realise in the right hands you could build an airport on it!😁
